We went for breakfast. I got the breakfast skillet. It was a lot of food. Potatoes, bell peppers, sausage and eggs all on a hot skillet. Loved it! I'd been here before and the food was great. The service was fast and very helpful. It was a little busy but at the same time there were always tables opening up. This place was originally a Burger King years ago. Not sure what happened with that. So it's kinda like an ex Burger King inside without the order counter. They did a good remodel when they did it. There's a bar area and tables too. With the name of the restaurant, I thought they'd have some Mexican breakfasts but nothing was Mexican except for maybe a breakfast burrito. The food was good and had a variety of omelets, pancakes, waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage and even scrapple. Everything tasted good and prices were good as well. Plain coffee was ok. What really made our experience stand out, though, was the incredible service. Heather and Danielle were absolutely wonderful--both were friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit. They were knowledgeable about the menu, checked on us often, and truly went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and appreciated. Their positive attitudes and excellent customer service made our meal even more enjoyable. Discovered this restaurant on Google. Our family of 5 arrived afternoon for lunch, we were excited to see they offered breakfast all day!! The restaurant looks as though it use to be Burger King (drive thru still attached but not open). It was pretty busy when we arrived, yet were were seated right away. We were given a basket of fresh chips & salsa. Our serve was friendly, took our order, and we waited average amount of time for it too arrive. We ordered a mixture: fajitas to breakfast burritos. Result: - would've been nice to get another round of unlimited refills in our drinks. - burrito grande was small portion. Ended up ordering another breakfast burrito. Ask for dinner size) - the posters accompanied w burritos had no flavor but grease. - wished burrito had more eggs but still yummy - fresh toast was average (appeared yellowish) - easy scrabbled came out like omelette Overall, not too bad but will more likely not return. I probably shouldn't have got the special which was crab stuffed cod. The Cod was very dry, but the Brocoll and baked potato were good. It also came with cream of crab soup which wasn't too bad (I like a little more old bay). My friends got the burritos, and they said they were really good. The ambiance was nice and they have a little bar, which was neat to see. Place was clean and the waitress was nice. I would have given five stars if the fish special tasted good. I have tried several times at this diner. Once it was packed and we waited and waited...no water no nothing. Waited some more and finally they took our order. 30 min later food arrived. Then tried again today maybe 1/3 of the rest had patrons. We were seated and told they would be right over. The two waitresses stood at the cash register and were figuring something out for like 5-10 min. We waited and waited. Another couple was seated and waited. THEN....one of the waitress seated an apparent frequent guest the table next to us and proceeded to take his order. As she passed our table i said excuse me and she IGNORED me! Came back w the man's coffee and walked past the table again ignoring us. She walked past AGAIN to go to the table w the other couple that was seated after us and then she politely said your waitress will be right with you. I seriously would have walked out but i wanted French toast!!!! I will not be giving them my money ever again! EVERYONE knows at restaurants.....take customers water immediately and let them know you aren't ignoring them and then for goodness apologize if you are super busy! (Which they WERE NOT) read more

So we drive by this restaurant a lot. Decided today to try it for breakfast. We got there as it was sort of empty so we waited and waited for someone to seat us. Finally we got a table. Well we ordered our breakfast. Biscuits and Gravy with sunny egg on top and a spinach and cheese omelet with side of crispy bacon. Coffee and water. Simple right? The biscuits were like hockey pucks despite the so-called gravy. The Sausage gravy was sans sausage that I could see. It had no flavor and I tasted flower. The sunny eggs were hard as a rock and over cooked. The omelet was over cooked, the spinach looked wrong in so many ways, the cheese was barely visible and the crispy bacon was re-fried in the fryer and came out like the wood you find left over after a log fire. Burnt and ugly. The coffee tasted like it had been sitting in the pot since last week. Overall not a place I will return to or recommend. read more

Walkersville has needed a decent breakfast/lunch since forever. The Diner opened to great expectation, but didn't live up to it. The good news: the Diner switched hands, and the latest incarnation is pretty good. Their breakfast skillets look good (and according to my buds, taste even better). Their home fries are properly crisped (although could use some onions IMHO) - but smothered with chipped beef, they really, really shine. I'm a breakfast fan! Ordered breakfast for three carry out. Was told 45 min... thought that was strange but figured maybe they're busy... showed up food was sitting on the counter, the woman at the front was cold didn't acknowledge me for about 5 min then I told her I was there to get my carry out she proceeded to tell me she hadn't even totaled it up yet... made me sit and wait more as my food probably continued to get colder. All while over hearing her tell people her and another waitress were close to walking out (you can tell they care so much about the food at this point ). Then she tells me it's 38 bucks doesn't provide a receipt and my total didn't seem to match hers but after waiting and being hungry I just paid and moved on. Then got home and found my fruit salad was cut up apples that were brown in water. Really??? Then all the French toast and pancakes were in the same container as the bacon and sausage which threw the off the taste. The syrup containers busted open and we're covering the home fries which those as well were undercooked and the sausage didn't seem right. Very disappointed I mean breakfast is pretty simple and I could have and should have spent 25 bucks buying the ingredients and cooking it myself which would have taken less time and frustration. We just moved to Walkersville and were told by other locals that El Rancho is delicious...well they were absolutely correct! We tried El Rancho the first night we lived here based on the myriad of 5 star reviews, the dinner was delicious. They even had cream of crab soup free with most entrees. All of the servers are super sweet and down to earth too. We had it again for breakfast today because we were told that it's the best breakfast joint and of course, it was amazing. We highly recommend coming here for any meal! read more

We been here 3 times for breakfast and have enjoyed a variety of breakfast items. The French toast is very good and the bacon is done just right. The home fries need salt but that's easy enough to fix. The place is a little sad looking from the exterior, it's an old Burger King but inside it's clean and the staff is friendly.
