Very warm and sincere greeting. I ordered the chile relleno combination. The Mexican rice with this was very flavorful and delicious. The refried beans were pretty good. We were heading back on side road and came across this place. It had outdoor seating and is dog friendly. We grabbed a table and the waitstaff came out after a bit and got our drink order. We ordered 2 shots of Patron Silver and it was not a standard shot glass size and price was extremely high. We just got an appetizer to share and desserts. Neither were what we had expected (cheesecake was frozen, etc) service was okay but as we were outside it wasn't like it would be I'm sure if we had sat inside. I'm glad we stopped in here. This was a very good dining experience. First off, the service is great. They definitely work hard to take care of their customers. Our food order was taken quickly and we didn't have to wait long for the food. I had a plain (not the seafood) Chile Rellenos. It was cooked well and the cheese blend was good. I got it with the rice and bean. There was a lot of rice and beans! They almost hid my Chile! Everything tasted pretty good. I'd definitely come back! I've visited this restaurant for lunch recently and found them to have a good menu selection and was a clean establishment. The service was also very good and I enjoyed the salsa that they serve with the chips. I ordered the Carne Asada steak dinner from their dinner menu as the menu they provided to me for lunch didn't have it listed. My reasoning for three stars is that although the food was good, the Kearny Asada lacked flavor and it may be because I ordered it at lunch. Perhaps it wasn't marinated since it was on the dinner menu. In either case, it was still a decent meal. I will plan to visit them again for dinner and try to Kearny Asada in hopes that that was only one experience .. read more

Gringo Mexican. Flavorful, could use more spicy heat. That said, salsa verde and salsa were tasty and they have the thin crispy salty chips of your dreams. Chile Verde was a good pork and green chili dish, but not as hot spicy as we like it. Fajita beef was a so so cut and sliced thin, but nicely seasoned and came out sizzling hot and carmelized. The refried beans with cheese and Spanish rice are just like when you were a kid. The fish is frozen from elsewhere. The owner and his daughter were very nice, and seemed to know the locals. You get the sense that over the decades they have been in business, they evolved to cook to please the mild palate of picturesque Ridgefield. Charming/kitschy ranchero decor inside and a few outdoor seats as well. Good for kids. Serves margaritas and beer. All in all, solid. 3 1/2 stars. read more

I ordered the Seafood Stuffed Chilli Relleno and about died because it was SO YUMMY! My daughter ordered the Seafood Chimicanga and like my dish it was STUFFED FULL of fresh dungeness crap, large bay scallops and shrimp! My son got the taco salad that came in a HUGE freshly fried shell and my husbands Super Burrito was GIGANTIC!
