This is the finest restaurant in this town and one of the best in the extended area. There's convenient parking, it's got charming decor, comfortable seating, a very nice and very well stocked bar, excellent service, and really really good food off an extensive menu that even includes a section of American foods if you're more in the mood for a hamburger. And it's family owned. They have all the traditional Mexican dishes and preparations, seafood, some great desserts and daily specials. The menu includes smaller (and cheaper) meals for 12 and under as well as for 65 and over. What a great, kind idea. The waitstaff check on you frequently and even if someone is just passing by, they make eye contact. So if you need anything there's always someone around to help. We have been here three or possibly four times. If you like guacamole spend a couple extra bucks for the fresh made chunky one. It is just bursting with flavor and hits all the right taste notes. Oh, the cilantro. We split a fried ice cream today which was incredible. My husband loved his margarita and I very much enjoyed a "Sun Kiss" made with fig infused vodka and muddled orange. I have a friend that lives in Liberty, IN and this is one of the few sit-down restaurants. We have been a few times now and I really enjoy the food. On this trip I ordered a regular margarita and a steak quesadilla. The food was filling, hot, and tasty. There is plenty of open sitting, it is clean and staff is friendly. As far as I know, this is one of two El Reparo restaurants, the other being in Brookville. I was surprised at 1 p.m. to be the only customer in the place. Later, a few other people arrived. The lunch menu seemed very much like El Rodeo, down to the Speedy Gonzalez and the #3 Enchilada with rice and beans that I often order. The chips weren't very good--the usual cook-them-once-reheat them-many-times kind of chips. The accompanying salsa was good. I know that they don't have time to cook the chips in individual batches but it would certainly taste much, much better. The enchilada came with ground beef--I forgot to specify the filling--and the sauce was good. I'd almost think it was the same kind that El Rodeo and so many others use. The rice was particularly tasty and the beans were good. The price wasn't bad, especially considering the lack of customers. You'd think that they'd have to charge more to keep it open for lunch. They had two tvs mounted high on the walls, so I would imagine that they have a great after-work crowd and during sports events. The décor was amusing with little cactus figures on the partitions and paintings on the walls to remind you of Mexico. read more

The food is not as good as it use to be. And the staff has their masks wrapped around their necks or under their noses.

First thing I always do is see how the the margaritas are. Theirs tasted like kool-aid. I hardly even tasted the tequila. Ordered a shot of Don Julio to pour into it. Tortilla chips came out of a bag and I'm sure the salsa was from a jar or can. Ordered the managers special steak burrito with queso on top. It was stuffed with more re-fried beans then anything. The only good thing about it was that it was hot. This was my first time here. I saw the patio driving by which is decent. Probably won't be back. read more

When you enter the restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a real authentic feel. The staff are very attentive and courteous. Now the food however........ uh.......! I ordered grilled chicken salad and my friend had a taco salad. My chicken was not cooked thoroughly and my friend had more of a soup and salad! It was as if her taco salad was liquefying and oozing our the bottom. After bringing my partially cooked chicken to the staff attention, they did take it back and I ordered tacos. The tacos were delicioso! Someone seriously needs to rethink that taco salad, because I'm all my years I have never seen a lake of juice form around the base of the shell causing the shell to fall apart. read more

This restaurant never fails to disappoint. Recipe developer needs a major lesson in real Mexican food as well as fresh food. Had a enchilada that was covered with CANNED chili con carne. The avocado topping was a smear of green goo and cheese like food. Only one bite had a hint of avocado. The pico de gallo was soggy, wilted and old. Tasted like it had last weeks salad chopped up in it. Had pollo con pina that did not have any pineapple but had sugary grilled onions. The veg were frozen bagged, boiled and flavorless. Not even salted. The chicken had no spices just way too much salt. What was good was the rice. The margarita was made with a mix, not fresh. Maybe they used real tequila but the salt was real. So between the rice and the salt, El Reparo earned 1 star. If a restaurant does not have all the ingredients to make something, then don't sell it and do not serve fake food. I go out to eat expecting real food that takes thought to prepare. Do not let a inexperienced gringo dictate the menu at a Mexican restaurant, do not tie the hands of your Mexican cooks with poor quality products or worse, no ingredients, ALWAYS use real, fresh ingredients and pay your employees. My dinner was dismal and not a Mexican meal, didn't even use common Mexican spices (I'm not talking about chile peppers either). read more

this place is quite the cuisine. The queso is fire and I totally would recommend churros. They give you some ice cream on the side too with a bunch of unhealthy stuff but oooh it's delicious. I'm craving some right now. Went there for our Daughter's Birthday. Told Hostess, as she was seating us, it was our daughter's birthday, she stated she would tell our waiter. When the waiter came to our table told him it was her birthday. We ordered Fajitas for one, for myself & my husband ordered a rib eye. My favorite Mexican food in Indiana, we Camp nearby 90 min from home. They are the best.

We have eaten Mexican probably more than any other food in the past 5 years. I love your basic/standard Mexican restaurant like El Rodeo, but this is a step up from that. Their menu has more and a better selection, including more complex dishes. The salsa is also a step up from your usual mexican restaurant. We live about 30 minutes away, so I'm not sure how often we would eat there when El Rodeo is less than 5 minutes away, but I highly recommend this place to anyone who is close or up for a drive. read more

We love this place. They are personable, friendly and fast and the food is consistently good and prices are reasonable. A time or two it's been very busy and a little slow, but we eat here frequently and 99% of the time I'm amazed at how quick they are even when they are packed. We went to this restaurant due to positive reviews on Yelp, but were very disappointed by the experience. The atmosphere is dreadful--dark green walls, black ceiling, no windows, like being inside an avocado. The food was even worse. My friend had shrimp in garlic sauce, which was edible, but not appealing. I had seafood enchiladas in green sauce, which supposedly had scallops, crab and shrimp. I have never had a worse Mexican dish. There was no crab or scallops (there was ample fake crab) and the shrimp were microscopic and rubbery. The sauce was sour and also not very appealing. Service was fine, but it was the only redeeming quality. I had hopes--the menu is big and reviews I saw were good--but I will never go back. Avoid this place. read more
