This is simply one of THE BEST taco places around (not just Southern Cal but also compared to those in Mexico which I visited a few times a year). Very tasty food, excellent quality and great selection of to-die-for salsa, not to mention the tasty frijoles soup (beans and pork), all of them are free and unlimited at the salsa bar. The price is reasonable: $2 for tacos: $6 for burritos (huge!) and every food comes with a side of grilled onion and jalapeno. My favorite food here is the taco LENGUA (tongue), best one anywhere, hands down. The place is small, unassuming, and parking is tight, but you can always park at the lot next door (convenience store), they even have a parking attendant on site helping you manouver around the tiny lot (just like in Mexico). The food is not worth the overpriced amount and the over the head attitude from the cashiers. My family and I stopped by but keep in mind we are from LA. The cashier just had a huge attitude problem, and not just one cashier - then there was a second one. It's hard to hear them because it's a restaurant. And they seem bothered that I was even opening my mouth to order. I have 8 years of customer service including server/cashier. So I was not going to be a Karen. I let it go, sat down and waited for the food. We order a torta, 2 chilaquiles and some egg and ham. The torta was okay, although $15-16 for it it's not worth it. It's more bread than anything else. The egg and ham, was okay pretty good portion, not much flavor and over priced. But the chilaquiles? Never ever ever ever again. The WORST chilaquiles, i practically had chips and salsa. They place the beans at the bottom of the plate so the beans were floating in water. Because the red salsa was also pretty bad. There was sprinkles of what seem to be mozzarella cheese. Hey so I ordered a torta with cheese and avocado only with my food. when my food arrived it had every vegetable I can name on the food. So I called to complain and the young girl says she's not the cook so it's not her mistake. So when she looked at the receipt it clearly states she repeated to me what should be on the torta and says yes it should be cheese & avocado only. So then I asked can I get credit for a future order she tells me no that's not what we do so I asked what's her manager and her name was and she told me that's confidential info. I had walked in to an empty establishment to order two drinks ... me thinking it's slow they were gonna be out quick ... the short girl with the thick eyebrows charged me $13 for two drinks and then proceeded to go on her phone while joking around with a customer.. Don't expect "hominy" in the menudo. They don't prepare their menudo with hominy. If you order expecting, you will be left with a $11.99 32oz disappointment. Authentic Mexican food with good portion size. I will say it seems a tad $$ for Mexican food and for the area it's in. $13.50 for Asada nachos and $11 for the pastor burrito. I just had lunch at Rincon Taurino (across the street) and noticed that this place was PACKED so I decided to try it this week. The menu was very expansive and I didn't know what to order so I ordered 3 tacos: al pastor, asada, and carnitas. I don't do burritos, tortas, nachos, taquitos, chile rellenos, or enchiladas when I dine out for Mexican Food. It's just TOO HEAVY :P They also have bionicos (a Mexican yogurt parfait), flan, and fresh juices. I ordered two fresh juices, papaya and strawberry with milk for my son. I saw them blended with a Vitamix and they were delicious but I didn't get one for myself. I would have liked the green alfalfa juice with pineapple or the nopales (cactus) juice. When I got my order: 6 tacos, 2 juices, and a side a chips, the cook added one extra taco and said I paid for 6 but I was getting one for free. He also grilled a jalapeno to serve with the chips. The al pastor was the best, which was cooked traditionally on a spit with a pineapple on top. The condiment bar is amazing and has the best beans and authentic salsas/sauces. They also have pickled carrots/jalapenos/onions, sliced red onions, lettuce mix, diced onion, cilantro, lime wedges that you help yourself to. I've seen other patrons "hook it up". The people who work here seem so grateful that you are contributing to their business. And when I was leaving in my car, other patrons were waving and smiling at me.
