Chicken Chimichanga Smothered in Green Chile

Delicious, quick, & cheap. Checked all the boxes for a sit down lunch.Keep up the good work.

Amazing taco chips but salsa was real spicy. The server was nice she brought it out right away. We got the barria burrito bowl & the beef enchiladas plate. Both were a bit small for the prices. The beef stew (barria) was just roast beef chunks missing seasoning. The 3 enchiladas were on a street taco shell. The sauce was decent. The food was fresh. Sour cream & guac was only a table spoons worth. No refill on chips. Lil stingy on portions.

Damn these are good tacos. What a nice surprise, looking for a little late lunch on the way through Salida, saw the taco flags and open sign across for the Ace in town. Glad I did a U-turn to get a quick bite as the carne asada tacos are yummy and tasty sauce too.

Check out this small taco shop on US 50 in Salida. Make the stop and enjoy their Fantastic Street Tacos!!! We enjoyed the 3 different sauces and they all had deep flavor. Highly recommend this small family run business.

We come up every other weekend to visit family, and this is a place we keep coming back to. The sandwiches are really good and consistently high quality every time. They are on the pricier side, but you can easily split one, which makes it a great option to share. The menu has a ton of options--it can feel a little overwhelming at first--but honestly, you can't go wrong. We've tried quite a few, and every single one has been great in its own way. Pro tip: during the summer, the line can wrap around the block. If you don't want to wait 30-40 minutes, ordering online is definitely the move. Also, don't skip their bars--they're absolutely amazing. Perfect to grab for later if you're heading out on a hike, or just enjoy it right there. Highly recommend grabbing a sandwich and taking it down to the river--that's honestly the best part of the whole experience.

Given the word "classic", I was expecting long thinly sliced beef , this was small chunks of beef. When I see "Classic Fried Chicken" on a menu, I would expect crispy pan fried bone in chicken... like what my mom made. This Fried chicken consisted of two roundish chunks of boneless white meat breaded in bread or corn meal, picture "shake--n-bake" consistency. Truly tasted like eating cheap frozen breaded boneless chicken. No flavor. No seasoning , not even salt/pepper. The gravy was pale yellow.. NOT at all like CLASSIC freshly made/home made pan chicken gravy, with chunks of the crispy fried pieces from the pan . This seemed more like something out of a jar.. I subbed seasonal vegetable instead of mashed potatoes. The only thing we ordered that was delicious, Cauliflower and Romanesque . Although when asked prior to ordering , the server said the seasonal vegetable was Romanesque, I was surprised that it was a blend with cauliflower...mainly cauliflower, very few Romanesque The fish and chips looked and tasted like Long John Silver's fast food. Two chunks of fish batter fried. The chips seemed like bulk frozen fries. The person who ordered the fish/chip ate very little of it. The bar drinks were good, on their own, those would be 4 stars. , I ordered the mocktail Butterfly Lemonade. It was a lovely shade of lavender, but was like drinking pure bottled lemon juice mixed with some sparkling water. Zero sweetness, even though simple syrup was the second ingredient stated in the ingredients. We sent that drink back. Server was very nice. Outdoor seating was pleasant. Those elements would be 4 star.

Pulled into the parking lot and electric vehicle chargers were like towers of hope for the power-deprived traveler. The menu looked limited. Was there for lunch. Breakfast menu looks extensive and good. Ordered a burger and turkey club and iced tea. Overall it's great. There were so many people with dogs or multiple dogs that sitting peacefully in the exterior seating area wasn't that peaceful as bickering alpha dogs tried to act dominant by whelping and arguing with each other. Wasn't a fan of the barking and screeching and loudness that lasted the entirety of the meal while observing the dog owners either oblivious to the mayhem or ignoring it while swiping on their janky iPhones. I won't dock points in this review due to the dog drama. It is what it is. Salida is a wicked dog-friendly town. I will return for breakfast. You should also. You'll be glad you did.

Salida is a small town compared to many places in Colorado. So the competition may not be as much as say if they were in Denver but if they were there they would still shine because they're just that good. The host referred us to Pizza Rio and said they had outdoor seating and it's usually quieter. Heading up the stairs, customers coming down said it's worth it. The host showed us the tables outside and indeed was very quiet and had a beautiful view of the river. When we sat down, the heaters were still on but the server turned them off for us and opened the shade screen. My husband got the Greek salad with a slice of pepperoni pizza. My son got the vodka penne pasta, my mom got the meatball grinder and I got the Greek salad with arugula and spinach and the spaghetti and meatballs. Everything on the menu said it was made in house including the dressings. And WOW!!!! The flavor these dishes had was top notch Italian and dishes were decent/big sized.
