After trying figure out where in BV to eat with 6 people that included 2 kids and 2 ppl with dietary restrictions, we settled here. And thank goodness we did!! We were immediately greeted by friendly staff, who seated us promptly and gave us 2 generous baskets of chips along with 2 types of salsas. As we were deciding on food, we also got a bowl of corn elote which was amazing! A crispy relleno is what I order at all Mexican restaurants to gauge how much I like the food, and this place didn't disappoint! One of the best rellenos I've had, and the green chili was fantastic. The rest of the party was very happy with their meals, as well, which included shrimp Enchiladas, tacos, combos, and nachos. All fresh, authentic, and delicious! And even the kids hamburger was a nice, thick patty with lettuce and tomato. Our party also had the house marg and the Sanchez, and both were well-balanced and not over-priced. Highly recommend! On top of it all, Santiago, our server, was so amazing. Friendly, very attentive, and patient with us all as we practiced our Spanish. Couldn't have asked for a better Mexican restaurant. read more

The staff was very friendly. The food was rated at a 3 very tomato based for mexican food.This seemed like it was mostly out of a can and preheated. The green chili was subpar. There was 5 of us in our party.Unfortunately, the computers went down. So our orders got a little mixed up, one person in our party's order did not show up with the rest of ours until we were done eating. Hands down, the best restaurant experience for our family reunion last Friday was on the quiet, cozy outdoor back patio at Casa Sanchez. Moises took care of serving the 11 of us and provided exceptional service with a friendly smile. He was quite literally the life of the party and didn't miss a beat! The food was delicious, from the queso to the sizzling fajitas and burritos, and warm churros with dipping sauces. The Gold Margarita by the pitcher was "top shelf" and definitely the way to go with such a large group. Moises ensured we always had whatever we needed, and I've honestly never had better service. Came here for lunch on the way to camping in Salida and it was a nice restaurant. Much bigger than it looks with a ton of inside and outside seating. Everyone wore a shirt that says something like "I'm Mexican, ask me for a kiss". I wonder how many times they're taken up on that offer? Anyways I ordered the Mojarra Frita fried fish and it was exactly how my dad makes it. I miss that dish. My friend got the shrimp ceviche and she liked it but it was just average for her. We had a mini vacation to celebrate our wedding anniversary and because we were staying in BV, we decided to have dinner at Casa Sanchez. We are glad we did. The first thing we noticed as we walked through the front door was the welcoming aroma of good Mexican food. Unobtrusive little place but lots of seating inside. We received a friendly greeting and our server was attentive without hovering. We're not big drinkers, so we passed and just had water. Our hotel was about 10 minutes away too and not knowing the area well, it was just a better choice. They do have, however, a fully stocked bar for those who are more adventurous. The menu is extensive. So much to choose from and all looked so good. We were given two bowls of salsa and a very generous basket of chips. Yum. Both of us opted for the Carnitas Burrito. I love carnitas. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect the plateful of food that was put before us. Massive round plates (12 to 14 inches) packed with Mexican goodness. The burrito in itself was a meal but alongside was refried beans (delicious), rice, pico de gallo and guac. All fresh, all wonderful. My husband remarked how tasty the beans were. So often the beans are bland and watery but these were packed full of flavor. And the carnitas? Tender, scrumptious. No grissel, no fat, just lean, flavorful pork. Quite possibly the best carnitas I have ever tasted. You could tell this is meat that has been slow-cooked, it was just falling apart. So we made it back to our hotel and fell on the bed, bellies full and souls happy. The bill for such an enormous amount of food? Around $35, plus tip. Great Mexican food in a small town. Came here last year when we visited Buena Vista, and remembered the food being good so we stopped by again for lunch after a nice hike. The portion sizes are huge, and the food was tasty and very filling. Carnitas were a little dry and the margaritas a little sweet, but they gave us a tequila shot on the side and that was fun. The server brought drinks quickly and was on top of refilling our glasses. He did put a sizzling plate of fajitas right in front of my toddler but we were paying attention so we were able to move it out of the way. All in all, satisfying meal. Casa Sanchez III is probably the best Mexican food in the BV Valley. But, beyond great food, they make incredible drinks and are incredibly friendly. We recently visited with some friends from out of state, where we enjoyed a variety of foods. I have a 3 item combo with a burrito, chimichanga, and chili relleno, all of which were great. The chimi and the relleno were both so crispy and delicious. We also had drinks; the girls ordered a giant margarita and were surprised when it arrived. It was huge! They said it's about equivalent to four regular-sized. At the end of the meal, they brought us "Mexican dessert," which was a round of tequila shots for the table. Colorado is full of mediocre, high price food with awful service and entitled service workers thinking 25 % tip is required for empty water and sometimes rudeness (please order now, I'm busy). I don't mind it - but some people do Service (A) The staff is super nice and the food comes out fast. Excellent friendly customer service Value (A) It was around $45 out the door for 3 - plenty of food and good values. Could get a plate for around $10-$20. Not bad for high quality authentic Mexican Quality (A) Everything we ordered was really good. All the enchiladas are excellent and the carnitas tacos are a large portion.
