If you're craving mariscos at home and don't want to leave your bed, El Rinconcito might be convenient, but flavor wise it didn't fully hit for me. This place is known for their mariscos style dishes, aguachiles, aguas frescas, and snack style items that lean refreshing and citrus heavy. This review is based on a delivery order through a third party service. I ordered an x-large mango agua fresca, an order of their aguachile verde, and a bag of salsa verde Tostitos. Unlike other reviews I've seen, I got everything I ordered. Everything was packaged with so much care too. Multiple bags to make sure nothing spills, utensils, straws, napkins, everything included. It really doesn't get better than this when it comes to delivery. The customization on the aguachile let me go a little wild so I added mango and extra camarones. I thought the mango would come in the same container but it was packaged separately in a bag. The quantity actually surprised me. I was expecting maybe a few pieces but it looked like almost a whole mango. The portion of aguachile itself felt a little small for the price, especially after paying extra for shrimp, but still okay. It came with onions and cucumbers but barely any avocado, maybe like three pieces. The flavor of the aguachile was not what I expected though. It wasn't very limey or spicy, it leaned really mild and didn't hit that craving. Most of the shrimp tasted fresh but a few had that fishy taste which kind of threw me off and ruined the experience a bit. The mango though, super fresh and really sweet. Now the mango agua fresca was incredibly sweet, like way too sweet. Even after letting the ice melt a bit it still tasted like straight sugar water and I had to add more water myself just to make it drinkable. I did like that it had real mango pieces and tasted fresh, but I want something light and refreshing, not something that feels like three cups of sugar. Overall, I really appreciated how well everything was packaged and delivered because that honestly makes a huge difference. I come here for the waffle and ice cream. It comes with Nutella and bananas. It is so delicious. this time around I ordered a chicken tortilla and a lime Rapidos. The tortoise is so good. The worker, Stephanie, was incredibly kind and attentive. She took my order and handled everything herself, and my food was ready in about 10 minutes. The fish tacos were delicious! Exactly what you'd hope for in a solid fish taco. The ceviche had good flavor too, though I do wish the shrimp pieces were a little bigger since they were chopped very small.
