    Shrimp ceviche
    Katie G.

I'm really happy my friend introduced me to this lovely Mariscos restaurant. Everything about this place is great . I love the cute and clean restaurant. It's all blue like the ocean . Our server was one of the best servers I've had in a long time . Amazing service . Now let's talk about the food . This is seafood is very fresh and seasoned to perfection. I really enjoyed their coconut shrimp ceviche. It's not only delicious, but also beautiful. This is my new go to ceviche spot .

Hair on the bowl, thankfully not inside.

The service was okay. Our server wasn't nice or friendly but she wasn't rude either(at first). The restroom was dirty; the mirrors scratched and there was toilet paper on the floor. There was loud music playing for most of our time in the restaurant. I didn't mind the loud music since I know that these kinds of restaurants are meant to have that sort of ambience. Now, the most important part, the food. The shrimp was incredibly disgusting- it was old, and not deveined, which for the price I expected it to be. Correction, there was ONE shrimp that was deveine. There was hair on the bowl the lime was served in. The fish was okay, nothing outstanding, but edible. The shrimp burrito seemed like it was made with old ingredients; it wasn't good. When I told our server about our issues with the food she said "it's supposed to be like that." She didn't offer to remake it or even apologized for the state of the food. We weren't planning on eating the food anymore, but we didn't want it to go to waste so we asked for to go boxes (to feed our chickens). When our server brought us the to go boxes she threw it on the table! The food is completely overpriced $23-30 per entree. For reference I went in when it wasn't busy. I've also worked in a restaurant so I know how restaurants work and that the service won't always be good. However, I wouldn't give this place a second chance. Service 1/5 Food 0/5

You walk in and feel like you're in a beach town in Mexico. The service is friendly and the seafood is good. The entrees are between $20 to $25 which is a little pricey but the food is nicely portioned. The Aguas frescas are $5 and they charge a $3 fee if you pay with a card. Tortilla chips and salsa were brought out right away while looking at their extensive menu. I tried the fried filete and it came with salad, rice, and beans ($21). The filete was large but tasted kind of bland and the batter was thick and fell off the fish. The salad was just an iceberg lettuce mix with ranch dressing but the rice and beans were good. Overall it was a nice experience for a sit down seafood restaurant.

Is it necessary to have a 4% fee on credit cards? Get out of here. Carrying cash is a hassle and asking us to do it is an inconvenience.

Very good Mariscos! We had the locochona & aguachile. They were both fresh & delicious. The waitress were very attentive & friendly. They have onsite parking. We were able to bring our dog & eat on the patio. I can't wait to go back!

Muy delicioso! I wish sometimes that I could partake in all they have to offer. It is our second time in two weeks for taco Tuesdays , and we love the indulgence. I'm sure their seafood is great as well. The hubby and I like the carne asada tacos and fish tacos. And I always have the horchata. Their nachos are a huge selling point-their salsa has that touch of lingering hotness; and the Mexican limes are a great condiment. I'm happy they are open for dine in.

These are the 3 "aguachile tostadas" they gave me, trash.

Not what me and the wife were expecting, they weren't even tostada aguachile... they were TOSTADA CHIPS! Then the inside of the shrimp was grey never coming back to this place.

If you're looking for some killer Mexican-style seafood (or even land-food) after a long day of work, this place will do the trick. The food: They start off with very strong chips-and-salsa game that sets up the rest of the meal perfectly. Delicious fish tacos can be had for only $2.75, and they're *actual size* (read: not street tacos). And they have some unique dishes other than tacos too: the Relleno Mariscos is a chile relleno stuffed with seafood delights like fish, shrino, and octopus. Even the beans and rice were well-spiced and made with care, not just obligatory decoration. The atmosphere: The place is kept clean. Booths are a bit small, but there are regular tables and a patio. Parking is limited. Music was a bit too loud to have a conversation.

It was the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend around lunch time but they took walk ins left and right so maybe just dinner is what needs to be booked in advance? Beware there's only street parking, no valet service (unless you're a hotel guest), so that can present a challenge. Reservations a MUST on weekends, especially with a group. Now for the food reviews. Everything we ordered was delicious from the squash blossom and smashed tuna tartare appetizers to the El Festin platter (made for groups) . Since the main dining area is kept dark for the dramatic gothic effect, it's tricky to rely on your sense of sight for the presentation of each of the dish. The highlight for me was the chili garlic shrimp tacos. So full of flavor! The only drawback is that many of their dishes are made with nuts. So if you have a nut allergy, which one of us in our group did, the menu was limiting. Overall, it's an incredible place for first timers and out-of- towners. I might return for a special celebration, but not repeatedly. Once is good enough experience, especially with so many other special dining options in our fine city.

Delicious food, great view, and wonderful hospitality!…read more On our last evening in San Diego, we went to Coasterra to wrap up our vacation there. This restaurant came highly recommended by major Visit San Diego websites, and we felt we should give it a try. Located right next to the water, the restaurant offers expansive view of the harbor and the San Diego skyline. Sitting is about 50/50 indoor vs. outdoor, and we chose the indoor sitting as it tended to get colder in the evening. Parking is available out front, but we took Lyft there. We came in around Happy Hour, and we were able to score two appetizers for $11 each. We got fried calamari and fish cervice as appetizers. For entree, we had the fish tacos and scallops. Both of the appetizers were excellent, and the cervice was so light and flavorful. My husband loved his scallop entree, and the taste and presentation were original and outstanding. My fish taco was enjoyable as well. For dessert, we had fresh churro that was paired with ice cream, which was excellent as well. Our meal came to $143 with taxes, which was a very good value with the quality and services offered. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, which made us felt right at home. As for the ambiance, it felt modern and relaxed. There were diverse customers from locals, tourists, and business people. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience and we will return.

That said, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this burrito. It's large, filling, but their sauce had an almost artificial red color to it. It's a small tack shop style place, made more for to-go orders. Service was fast and friendly. Their horchata is where they really lose a star, it's from a fountain and tastes like it, watered down artificial flavor.
