I have had multiple people tell me how much they liked this restaurant. Since COVID they added a covered outdoor section. We visited one weekend while it rained and it was packed, so much so that our only option was to sit outside in the rain. While they had several tables still free inside we were told they had reservations for those. I mention this because had I know reservations were an option we would have definitely made some. Often restaurants rarely accept reservations except for fine dining. And Greenfield does not really offer anything I would classify in that category. We sat outside and ordered. I ordered the only mole dish they offered and a margarita that I was clear when I stated I wanted nothing on the rim and nothing but a blended fruit margarita. What I got was the complete version of their drink with a sting salted rim that I simply do not like. At some point we were seated inside when a table came available. The mole dish was underwhelming. Not the best mole flavors I have had and maybe living in Los Angeles for so long spoiled me for good Mexican but to me it was not good Mexican. It was average. What caught me off guard was when they finally delivered the bill. Two adult meals with margeritas, and a toddler who was fed from our plates with an additional child drink plus tip came to nearly $100. As I stated, not exceptional mexican and based on Yelps feedback it's a $$ restaurant. I would disagree with that rating. I have eaten in Monterey at a fine dining restaurant, had much better food and my bill was comparable. I live local but I will not be returning. The price did not reflect the cuisine. Castros in King City would have been half the cost and twice the quality in flavor and portion. While I want to give less than a 3 star, my partner appreciated the food, but then again she was not the one paying. But out of respect for her I will give it 3 stars begrudgingly. read more

Amazing delicious I ordered the Carne A La Tampiquena $22 Beef enchiladas with your choice of red, green or mole enchilada sauce, served with grill steak, cactus salad, guacamole, sour cream, rice and beans. Thankfully everything nearby in Soledad was closed. So we drove to Greenfield and found our new favorite spot. Started with a perfect margarita with our chips & salsa. My girl ordered the flautus plate. I didn't bother looking at the menu, just asked for that gorgeous bowl of seafood I see people eating. The Siete Marre! I wanted some really good authentic Mexican food and my friend suggested El Rinconcito. We arrived on a Saturday night around 6 PM and from the looks of it you could tell that it was packed. However, there were still tables available and we were sat down immediately. This place appears to be a well known local spot and many people like to gather and enjoy each other's company with good food and drinks. The table ordered the Carne asada plate, a plate of tacos gobernador, the camarones al mojo and the 2 sopes plate. I tried the asada plate and the sopes and everything was delicious. The rice and beans were very flavorful and well made that I know everything else is good when their basics are perfect. The prices are very affordable for both food and alcoholic drinks. The waiters were very attentive and came around various times to make sure everything was good. read more

After a full day of hiking we were hangry and everything was already closing around 8 pm . Luckily El Rinconcito saved us from our hunger pains. Decided to stick with tacos and some horchata. Seriously the tortillas were piping hot and you can tell it was freshly made. It was tender and chewy and although 4 tacos were a lot I kept eating because those tortillas were heavenly. My favorite was the carne asada. It was super flavorful and tender. I loved how they gave us grilled onions and jalapeños. The green sauce was also amazzzinnngg. And the horchata.....WOOOWWW. It was smooth , creamy with a hint of cinnamon. It had the perfect amount of sweetness, not soo sweet which was a plus. After that meal I felt super satisfied and refueled after hiking for 6 hours. Really good! Got the biztec azteca and carne a la tampiquena. Beans and rice were perfect, not super greasy. Steak was seasoned well. Cactus salad delicious too. Salsa had fresh, not bland tomatoes. Was quite busy when we got their Sunday mid morning but only waited a short time to get a table on the patio. Definitely plan to come here again while traveling on the 101. One thing to note is they have music playing in the patio which might be loud for some but was perfect for us and entertaining our baby dancing and masking her random noises. read more

Stopped through Greenfield on the way home from a motorcycle camping trip. We were a little bit dusty and in need of a solid meal and something refreshing. Perused the menu, placed our order and Monica took care of us from there. My husband and I are driving to Santa Barbara and decided to stop in Greenfield for food and gas. The reviews looked good for El Rinconcito and they did not disappoint! On this cold day, my husband ordered the Caldo 7 Mares and I had the Caldo de Res. Both were perfect. Huge portions each with fresh, homemade tortillas on the side. Wonderful quality and the service was lovely and attentive. Very kind staff. Oh, and I had a delicious Modela Michelada, too. Garnished generously with shrimp, Chamoy, cucumbers and fruit in a Tajin-rimmed glass. Loved our entire meal here from start to finish. I love this place! Mexican food is delicious and everything was great. The service, the ambiance. I've been here twice and of course you get the Mexican feeling when entering, but you won't be disappointed with getting a well cooked meal. I got a mariscada tower (not sure of the actual name) it was a hot day and this was so good. The tower was only $20 all dishes are well priced and well served. Will come again! And definitely recommend. The ambiance and people are farm workers, families, children... everyone... doesn't matter who you are, this place is great. It's a bit crowded, when we arrived it was pretty busy.. it don't seem that there is much organization with staff.. I gave it 5 stars because food is really good and our host was attentive..
