I'm an Arizona native and used to live off all the different 24/7 'bertos taco shops (Filiberto's, Roberto's, Juliobertos, etc) and have been on a mission to find Mexican food that would get more than just a passing grade in the PNW. It almost seemed impossible to find anything pleasing north of SFO as a SW native, but then I found El Rinconsito and wasn't as desperate to fly home just for the food. The taco shops here aren't 24/7, but they are open until at least midnight, sometimes later. They have refried beans (not this PNW black bean only nonsense), and carne asada tacos, and al pastor, and cheesy enchiladas dripping in melted cheese and red sauce. Due to covid the salsa bar is out but there is prepackaged salsa to go and the chili verde is just like home. They have aguas frescas and Mexican coke. They have crunchy chicken flautas, and my favorite steak ranchero in a savory sauce with onions and peppers. They have decent veggie options which can be difficult at other Mexican restaurants like veggie and sautéed mushroom quesadillas and veggie tacos. If I want my greasy late night street Mexican food fix it's here. If I want something a little less greasy there are options when navigating the menu too (but the greasy cheesy things are the best). But yeah, this makes my little AZ heart happy. read more

I talked to two different servers to have a rice, bean, lettuce, tomato, and avocado torta. What I got? Mushrooms, lettuce, tomato. I paid extra for the avocado I didnt get. The quesadilla? I've only been to this location once, but it was just as good as any other location that I've been to. When we went, it was super slow. We were the only group in the restaurant, which is fairly spacious. The service was good, the tacos were just as good as all the other locations. If I were in the Everett area and wanting tacos, then I definitely wouldn't be disappointed to swing by here. read more

Today I ordered ToGo enchiladas de mole, I get a substitution, because they dont have it, its ok sometimes happens, 1 order of 2 legs quarters but was burned outside and cold, I got charged for a "drink substitution" but I never asked for a combo, guacamole so watery and sour, and finally found hair on beans. read more

I come here occasionally but today I decided to get some enchiladas. Halfway through I am chewing on this weird piece and I didn't know what it was so I spit it out. Then I picked it up and unraveled it and it's a huge piece of plastic. I can't believe it because I know I ate some of that without even thinking because it almost has like a lettuce texture and they put lettuce on the enchiladas. Coming back to Washington after ten years in LA - I was spoiled by amazing Mexican food. I know I will never get anything as fabulous as the incredible Salsa & Beer in the San Fernando Valley. This place is near our house so we have tried it a few times. Salsa Bar - not great. I didn't care for any of the salsas. They just weren't that flavorful. Tacos - carne asada - not good. First visit ever. By no means the best Mexican food I have ever had. The staff on the night we went were rude. They totally ignored us while working on some issue with a register (apparently it took three of them to deal with this). No "we'll be with you in just a moment" or "let me help you at this register." We were flat out ignored for about two minutes. Ordered the crispy pork and shredded pork tacos and a side of rice and beans (we tried it out because we got free tacos after a Sounders game). I will never come back here. Check your receipt right away. They overcharged us for 3 of our meals. We ordered one special and they charged us for 2. We ordered burgers and they charged us for cheeseburgers. We ordered a taco combo and they said they extra charge of almost $4 was for a drink. When we tried to get it corrected they would not do it. I was so mad after trying to get my money back I just walked out. They refused to refund our money for their mistake even though we showed them on the menu the prices and repeated our order. OK... first off, props to this place for staying up late. By late I mean 11pm, I believe. It seems that most places along this commercial area shut the doors and roll the sidewalk around 9-ish, so thankfully this location is a rebel to time. Now for the real review. Mine dinner was a grab and go. Three shredded beef burritos, rice and beans. Very, very good flavor and ample filling of meat and cheese coverage. The rice and beans were done quite well, but to be honest I got full on the burritos and did not put a dent in the rice and beans... after all, there was fried ice cream waiting for me and I had to make room for that! The dessert was equally plentiful and flavorful. Nothing fancy, nothing intimidating, just reasonably and flavorful food. You cannot go wrong there! Service was muy rapido and mucho friendly. Fast Service & Great Selection This isn't the best hispanic restaurant i've been to, but i must admit its one of the cleaniest and nicest one i've been to in a long time. I really like how clean everything is and that it has a contemporary look to it. The menu is on the wall and some have photos so you make your selection like you would at Baja Fresh & etc. They always have a special menu, which includes a drink. I usually order their carna asada tacos and seriously you can't go wrong with it. The quick service is amazing and they got a really nice condiment bar with several types of salas and i guess their version of pico de gallo, which was full of cabbages rather than tomatos. I didn't think any of their salsas were spicy enough, but it doesn't matter because i enjoyed tha fact that i can load up on pickled veggies, salsa & pico de gallo to my heart's content. They have a great HH menu, but i've never had a chance to try it out. You can't go wrong with their price there. I'll definitely come back whenever i have a craving. read more

I'm from the LA area, where everywhere you turn is a taco joint, all just as authentic and delicious as the next. Which is awesome, because I love a good taco! So, when I come to Everett, WA to stay before hoping the border to Canada and see one taco truck sitting in a parking lot and yelp telling me about this high rated taqueria, I was a little curious. Unfortunately the taco truck and gone by the time I went to go get anything, so I went to this place. I was very skeptical, despite all the signs pointing to this place being good, I ordered myself 6 carne asada tacos. My fiance and I went back to our hotel and devastated them! They were delicious! A little (a lot) on the greasy side, but damn I didn't care! My only problem I had with this place was that I had to put my salsa to go in a sandwich bag...something that's not known for holding in liquid. Got a torta stuffed with lengua (tongue) and thoroughly enjoyed it. - If you haven't tried lengua before, you should definitely try it - it's more tender than most cuts of beef, and once it's hiddden under that golden-toasted torta bun, it's easy to forget what exactly you're eating. This restaurant was recommended by my 13th year old daughter who are friends with Mexicans from Guardalajara who come here dine often. We have not heard this before and we tried it! The restaurant is hard to locate since it is in between two rectangular buildings on Everett Mall Way in Everett. There are other resraurants in the area, too. The restaurant is new and the tables were mostly located near the windows. The order area is in the middle with many wide screen monitors where you can pick and choose the menus. On the right side, there is a place for different drinks including some Mexican home-made drinks. The food were serve fast and the service was quick. We ordered different classes of food and we teuly enjoyed our meals that were authentic Mexican! The jalapenos were not cut and served toasted with some of the menus and my husband loved it! They serve salsa, guacamole and sour cream on tiny containers but you can definitely as for more! The drinks were refillable, too! I highly recommend this restaurant! read more

Drove into Everett feeling hungry late on a Sunday night and discovered that almost every restaurant close to our motel was already closed. Yelp saved me again by finding El Rinconsito which stays open until midnight. This was just right, since I like tacos anyway. . .especially cheap ones. A big poster in their window advertised Four Tacos plus a Drink for $4.99. . .it was my kind of place! I chose two Adobadas, a Carnitas, and a Chicken for my four tacos. I don't know if my order got mixed up with someone else's or not, but three out of four of mine looked and tasted alike. My husband had the burrito and was disappointed with the lack of flavor, no vegetables (the menu said it would have vegetables), and no guacamole even though he asked for it and we were charged for it. I had the tacos: the flavor was just blah, no spices. The scratch margarita tasted liked lemonade. The chips had no detectable salt. In short, I was underwhelmed and will not go back. It was our first time ordering take out here, we always dine in and have never been disappointed. Well today that changed, we drove 35 minutes to order a Carne Asada Burrito plate, which comes with onion, cilantro, salsa, cheese, lettuce, guac & sour cream. Plus beans and rice on the side. All I got was a burrito with rice, beans & meat! $14 for a meal that wasn't even complete. I've worked in a restaurant and we would always double check orders going out to make sure the orders weren't missing anything. Our fault for putting trust and not checking our meal before leaving Everett. So if you're ordering take out, please check your meals! Plenty of meat and always juicy. I can't vouch for anything other than the tacos. As for the drink, it's straight diabetes in a bottle, so I don't drink them. Don't review things very often but felt this one was merited. This was the second time we ordered form here. Both mobile orders. The 1st time we ordered ahead, the second (the occasion i'm writing this review after which) was using their park and order parking spots. Ordered two 4 taco "specials" one was mixed meat with all of the toppings, 1 with all one meat and only cilantro as a topping. We ordered later in the evening and by the time a full half hour had rolled around we were still waiting on what I figured should have been a quick order (8 open face tacos and two sodas); watching 3 families in that time frame walk in, order, and receive their food while we were left to still wait. Went inside to ask about it and tried to be as polite as possible, noting to the staff we had been waiting for half an hour for an order in the mobile order parking spot for our order. The staff member looked confused, turned around and swiped on a tablet screen and looked like this was the first time they had even seen the order. Waited another 6 minutes inside the restaurant for the food before they finally handed over to me and I was able to leave. On our previous visit we waited over 40 minutes in that case. This was towards the beginning of covid-19 restrictions before dine-in reopened; and as such gave them a second chance, leading to this review of a second, and in this case worse, experience. Food tasted ok but the aforementioned mobile ordering experience wasn't the end of it. The order came out incorrect. The meats were correct on both plates but the plate that was supposed to included all the toppings was bare, just the meat. The other plate, didn't have any toppings either, not even the cilantro; the only topping asked for. The experience doesn't end there either. If you are looking for a restaurant that is following what you would expect to be the full state guidance or just general care for covid-19 look elsewhere. Tables are not spaced far enough apart, and more than half of patrons were allowed to remain waiting or seated very close together and in many cases completely mask-less; with many tables being 3 feet or less away from each other. They did have a plastic shield at the counter, but did not see any provided sanitizer at the front or tables, nor any tables being sanitized after patrons left. Also saw kitchen staff at times mask-less and one did not finally make the effort to put his mask on until he got close to the front counter. read more

Horrible experience. How they have such a good rating I really couldn't tell you. Make sure to see my pictures they will show you what I mean. The only picture missing is the quarter sized pieces of masa that were in my side of beans. (By the way I ordered no tomatoes and you can tell that they were put on and then picked off.) When we called back in to tell them we were told we could come In the next day and get a refund. My husband went in and he was asked "so what you want another plate or your money?" Wow great customer service. He told me he was told he had to bring the food in he tried to show her the pictures of the food as they were thrown away after and she didn't want to see them... So I called asking for a manager I was told she's not in. I asked when she will be in I was told 8 am tomorrow but she's in and out and we're not open so, to be honest no real answer. I then proceeded to tell her what happened because I need to speak with someone as they will be aware if we don't tell them. I'm asked to go online to find any sort of contact information. I go online as I'm on the phone with this women I tell her there's nothing on there but her store number and you're telling me there's no time where she will be there and I can speak with her. I'm told pretty much told no.... then I'm told that when you order take out that what's happens.... so I'm being told they serve all their take out like that. Yeah no thanks... (there was a miscommunication with my husband as he did get refunded.) However for the person to tell me she asked nicely (when that comment above was not nice) and I'm not trying to call your husband a liar but well he got the money didn't he.... I am appalled. I manage 3 offices and I would be horrified if that's how one of my customers were treated that way.... My conversation with the person on the phone ended well As I can appreciate her taking the time to talk to be as she explained to me that she did in fact refund my husband and that she's "not a boss or anything I'm just trying to give good customer service" I do not feel it was good customer with the way the situation was handled. Prior to that she did have good customer service, however after this I will not be back.... I did not want to bash another business on a review as I know how detrimental it can be for business, however I tried to discuss this with management first and I was not given a chance to sadly I have to speak about my experience and only hope that they go over things and make changes. read more

I love this place. Their chicken is so good I could just rub it all over my naked fleshand I wouldn't be wasting it. I haven't had anything else, so I can't comment intelligently about their beef. Every time I go in , I say "I'll try something else" but I don't. Yummers on the rice and beans, knocking it outta the park with that chicken!! I freakin' hate tacos. Never liked them. Spicy smelly ground beef and crunchy chip shells with shredded lettuce have never been my perfect picture of food nirvana, since my childhood years. So on new years, I go on a low carb diet. I have lost so much from it already that I decided today was a good day for a cheat meal, cheat meaning something with a few more carbs than i'd normally want to consume. My wallet was really light, and the protein shake I had consumed at 10 am this morning wasn't sitting heavily in my belly at 2pm. I was doing some grocery shopping across the street and I had for some reason had one of those rare few days a year where i was jonesin' for some mexican flava. There was a little yellow building in the same plaza as Hawaiian Sun, my fave Hawaiian restaurant and it had a huge painted sign in the window: $.79 TACOS. I had been doing a little research on Yelp a while back as I normally do and had come across El Rinconsito in Lynnwood as a possible place to take my sister because she LOVES mexican anything. This one is closer to where I live. Ok, ok... as I admitted before, I freakin' hate tacos, right? But the price was so SO cheap and I knew that anything that came out of a bustling little hole in the wall was going to beat the pants off of any taco bell dog food "taco". And I knew the tacos were really tiny little snacker size thingies so it sounded perfect for my little cheat indulgence- corn tortillas don't have as many carbs as flour ones of course. I went inside, ordered two carnitas tacos and a drink to go. Total damage: $3.10. So, these were not freakin' tacos like I am used to. They were tiny, fresh, homemade, warm corn tortillas, deliciously slow-cooked perfectly tender carnitas with a light smattering of onion and cilantro. Salsa on the side. They were the best little tacos I have ever eaten. No, seriously... if this is how a real taco is supposed to taste... I think i'm in love! I loooveesss this place! and it's soooo legit! This place is authentic and seems more of a fast food type of place with their layout and speed, but they serve food and portions the size of any big restaurant chain. The prices are great! This blows popular places that cater to the more American clientele like La Palmera/Azteca out of the water in terms of food quality and prices. Their tacos (and I mean..REAL tacos, not the crunchy kind you get a tacobell) are BOMB. Juicy, flavorful, topped with veggies and comes with a jalepeno pepper on the side. Also, their fried ice cream is to die for. It's not your typical fried ice cream either because they coat it with yummy corn flakes. As for service, when you pay with a card, before they hand you the receipt they cross out the "tip" line...yet, they come out to your table to serve your food and also clean it up! To top it off, they're amazingly friendly! Overall, for a "fast food" mexican restaurant, this is easily my favorite Mexican joint so far. I had my doubts but this place is legit! With a layout similar to a fast food joint and loud music blaring from within the men's bathroom, I was pleasantly surprised by the food that was brought out. The lengua tacos (5 for $7.55) were juicy and delicious but the salsa bar was too tamed for my taste (even the super duper fiery hot ones were weak) For my entree, I had the enchiladas regulares while the bf had the "a la crema" version. Both were great although I liked mine more. Another friend had the pozole (soup) and the burrito plate (both looked delicious). To wash everything down, we tried their horchata. Very cinnamon-y and refreshing! For dessert, we had the fried ice cream. Super duper cheap (a little over $3) but it was more of a ...scoop of vanilla ice cream rolled in Kellogg's crunchy flakes. Came because of the good reviews. I'm a gringo, but I appreciate the more authentic Mexican restaurants that cater to mainly Mexican clientele. I had the arroz con pollo (chicken and rice and veggies with sauce and side of tortillas). It came with a side salad, which in this case was mainly iceberg lettuce. The salad also had a few pieces of ice in it and was kind of wet, probably from melting ice. This was the only disappointing part of my meal. I also ordered two tacos with carnitas (fried pork). I stopped by the salsa bar and tried all four of the salsas, including one the was hot and one labeled fire. I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken and veggies. I got the steamed corn tortillas and stuffed them full of food. The carnitas tacos were delicious. Just a bunch of delicious pork stuffed in some warm corn tortillas, but they just melted in my mouth. Been driving by here for years. Big fan of Hawaiian Sun on the other side of the strip mall but we decided to give this place a try. Absolutely no regrets. After living in Houston for eight years I've always strained to find decent Mexican food. The regional taco trucks come close, as well as a couple of other offerings. This is on par with strip mall Mexican offerings in Houston or LA. Viva real Mexican food! Yes, it has a strip mall look and feel inside - bah - white table clothes do not equal great food. Ordered the arroz con pollo and it was the best I've had in the Seattle region. No plate of nasty beans to supplement the offering. Perfectly seasoned tender chicken, onions, mushrooms, with quality cheese, served over a bed of rice and a huge salad. There is a great salsa bar, marinated carrots to die for (fresh not out of can) and even the tortillas are both fresh and made to order. I was the only gringo in the whole place; the staff was warm, welcoming and friendly. Everett is so lucky to have two outstanding eateries so close to each other. Food is pretty good, but every time I order to-go they forget a part of my order. Last time it was a salad, this time it was the tortillas. I can usually catch it, but not always. Then when I tell them that they forgot something from my order they get mad like it's my fault. Done with this place for always messing up my orders. read more
