This restaurant has some really good food! They make the pupusas fresh and the hand made tortillas. The breakfast platters are delicious and filling, you get a plate with plenty of food. One selection I didn't care too much for was the shrimp cocktail, I have never seen where a restaurant leaves the shrimp tail on the shrimp when it's in a cocktail. Also the amount of shrimp that the cocktail had was disappointing, the cocktail was loaded with way too much sauce and vegetables. This is the first restaurant that I have gotten a shrimp cocktail and I've been mad that I paid almost $20 for a small serving of shrimp. I haven't even got my food and I'm already disappointed. I could tell the lady inside didn't like white people. I chose a chicken entree and she kept upselling me. I corrected her and she still got it wrong. The entree was $12 but she rang me up at $20 then on top of that she said it would be another dollar for using my debit card. I don't know about y'all but I'm pretty tired of getting charged to use my own money. Debit cash is pretty much the same thing. As a frequent customer I come here a lot therefore I would've rated this three stars originally but since I am a frequent customer I notice the prices on the menu change extremely from one day to the other. The amount of food they charge you for it too doesn't make sense. On top of that they never give you a receipt unless you ask for one, so they can really charge you whatever they want ( since the price always changes) and say the total was because of plus tax. Like cmon really? Tax is almost 4 $ per plate ? Also the amount of time I've comes here, there's literally one good/ nice employee out of all of the ones there. The food is good, but the service is awkward. The first time we went to order something for takeout and the blond haired lady told us "you don't want to cook anymore?". If she doesn't want to do her job, she should quit. We went for a second time for bread and they didn't have anymore, no problem. Let's start with the location. This place is situated on Figueroa and 42nd St. It sits between a small convenience store and a christian church. The only parking available is street parking. The restaurant is very well lit and there are 15 tables available. One thing to know is that this place accepts cash only and they do not sell alcoholic drinks. The food: I ordered a simple "baleada", it consist a large flour tortilla stuffed with beans and Honduran sour cream. It was very fresh and very delicious. I also ordered "Yuca con chicarron". It is fried pork ginds with fried yuca. Wow, was I impressed. The plate can easily feed two people. This plate along with the baleada are typical Honduran food and this place cooks it to perfection. Here is a place that dislikes anyone who supports the US or law enforcement; I came here with my Blue Lives Matters flag and was not welcome. My food was late (which I refused to eat), and a male waiter even laughed that I had my flag with me. Their waiters are disrespectful and rude. I liked the food. I never had Honduran food before. The old name is k trachos. I had the pupusas I didn't bring cash and it's cash only. They were really good and the sauce was delicious. To me it was BOMB I had been wanting to try baleadas for a while and I had been looking for a good place to eat some authentic bomb ass baleadas but some places reviews weren't that convincing like they weren't big enough or they weren't authentic enough etc, so I decided to ask one of my Hondurans friends, where can I get some bomb ass baleadas and she told me about this place she said we go there often so I said that's good enough for me. So my husband and I went and it's a very nice family restaurant very clean, I told the cashier (we were getting the food to go) that it was our first time there and she said it's ok take your time, I told her for sure I want the baleadas but they had a couple of choices, when we finally made our choice we ordered them, even though the place wasn't so busy I do recommend calling and ordering if you're getting carry out because I think we were there a good 20-30 min but boy was it worth the wait, I wasn't expecting them to be so big and sssooo good!!! For sure we are going to go back because i did see other things I would like to try. An hour went by and I had still not gotten. I shortly realized that a couple who had walked in about 20 minutes after we did had not only received their food, but eaten and left. I had lunch there yesterday. Introduced to baleadas, a home-made flour tortilla folded over refried dark beans, scrambled eggs, fried chopped meat, garnished with a slice of avocado. Place was clean and the courteous waitress suggested baleadas as a quick snack @ $3.95. I ordered 2 plus a glass of horchada and a glass of water. One was enough, took the other home and microwaved it today. This was my first taste of comida Hondurena while I was waiting for my voltage regulator to be rebuilt at CP Generators further east on Figueroa. Let me tell you that they lack customer service skills. my family and i walked in on a busy Sunday and were not a knowledge at all. We were standing for a little over 15 minutes and still no one greeted us. i was pissed and wanted to leave but my husband was hungry and wanted to wait since we were there already. Luckily a table was free and still the waiter and waitress did nothing to clean it or to seat us there. My husband was upset and approached them to clean it. like 7 minutes later we were seated. we finally ordered. i wanted to try the conch soup with coconut and mondongo soup with coconut too. What a dissapointment, after waiting almost an hour for the food. it did not taste like coconut at all. we asked the waitress just to confirm and she said they mix it with water and coconut can??? really. so its not even homemade. very dissapointed. I live in the neighborhood and i used to come here frequently for their pupusas and never had a problem I stopped coming for a while and when I did stop in this isolated incident ruined this place for me . I placed a phone order for 4 pupusas at 8:04 pm I arrive at about 8:30 to pick up my food and the kid at the counter told me that my food would be ready in 5 minutes at about 8:45 my food is still not ready for me and I ask about it and they tell me that it's ready i pay for it and I open my bag and notice there's no Curtido or salsa for my pupusas when I asked for it the front and back staff stared going back and forth about who should get it for me by the time I got everything and left it was 9:00 and when I got home and opened my food I realized they had gotten my order incorrect. I called the restaurant to speak to the manager about my situation and seemed to be unapologetic about my experience and was very little help. read more
