I've been several times now, when I am needing a cut and color, and have seen Bruce each time. Bruce is fun, personable and does a great job with my hair. Worst service ever! I came in with hopes to get a highlight I ended up leaving with darker hair. The guy never once showed me the colors and he did his own thing. I was very unhappy and they did nothing about it. On top of that they charged me $30 for a blow dry. Seriously? The total for unwanted wrong colored highlights was $105. That went to the trash. Never again will I be back. I would not recommend them to ANYONE! read more

Oh boy looks like IM another proud member of the "I heart Ron Lopez for my hair fan club"!! I met Ron when a gf purchased a brazillian blow out for my daughter as a gift the summer of 2013. Ron took the time to tell my daughter what he was Going to do before he did it and sat in his chair and made sure she was ok with his recommendations. I was so impressed with his chair side manner I asked him questions about my own hair. Needless to say, I made an appointment with him a few months later and I am on my third appointment and couldn't be more pleased. While I have been blessed with a decent head of hair, shiny, straight- grows like a weed- (when I get too lax at the gym- my hair is usually my go-to asset!). I am on my 2nd donation to Pantene beautiful lengths program. My first chop with my old salon had me traumatized (you know, when they cut 12 and you were expecting 7...). So I never went back to my old salon since and hadn't had a cut in months. When I made the appointment with el salon, they have a great reminder program btw! I knew exactly how long I would be at the salon. My absolute favorite thing about Ron is that while I told him what I wanted he took a seat and looked at me. Asked me questions and clarified the look I wanted. Showed me pics on his phone and then asked exactly what didn't I like about a certain cut. While I am NOT AT ALL picky about my hair, I don't care to look like mrs. Swan from mad tv either. So Ron made his first cuts and we got another 7 and 10 inch donation.. Great... And I was like- ok here we go ugly hair for a few months no problem... And then that's when the magic that is "Ron" happened. He cut a little here a little there. My hair dried and he kept snipping. Not Length mind you, but layers... Not too many though. I told him I wanted sexy/ professional -- I swear that's what I got! Kinda news reporter- ish. Without making this review a book, I have to say one last thing.. During my second appointment, I changed my mind about my sexy/ professional look (gasp!! You know we all do this!) I wanted to work towards "more sexy" by summer.. Do you know what Ron did? Once he heard that I wanted to change my Look... He stopped what he was doing.. Grabbed a chair and looked at me, and listened. That's it- and I think for that reason alone I will be a repeat customer! Go Ron!! read more

I have been going to El Salon for almost 10 years. Earlier this year they moved from Cherry Creek to the Wash Park area. The new salon is wonderful. They have done a wonderful job converting the space into a salon. It is situated on the corner of E. Virginia and Clarkson. There is pleanty of on street parking. Persotnally, I go to Ron Lopez-the best sytlist in Denver. However, I know serval people who see other sytlists and are equally as happy. I can't stress how much I love Ron and El Salon. I've been seeing him for 3 years now, and I feel like he just keeps getting better and better. I always leave feeling relaxed and beautiful, and my husband is quick to agree. He's also started seeing Ron for his own hair. After many years of patronage to El Salon, one after another of my stylist quit. I tried a salon near my house, which I liked, but El Salon offered a great gift card purchase, so I thought I'd give them another try. When I called to make an appointment the first time I was put on hold for three minutes when I finally hung up and called another day. Despite the inauspicious start, I was able to make an appointment with a stylist who was open. I'll just cut straight to the chase, I was shocked at the change in atmosphere of the salon and even more shocked when I was checking out and found out that my partial highlight and cut would be $215, despite the posted pricing stating otherwise ($145). I asked the receptionist why it was so much and she said that my stylist was a level 3 stylist which meant that he charged more. After telling her that I requested any stylist and wasn't informed that my chosen one was expensive, she suggested that next time I inquire about the level of stylist I'm receiving. WOW! Lesson learned. Nothing like being gouged for money. Can't say this was a winning move on El Salon's part to bring back customers. I certainly don't feel as if El Salon was forthcoming and will definitely not be returning, ever. read more

I miss Joel. He is the best hair stylist I have ever been too. It is rare for a hair stylist to actually listen to your needs, give you advice and come up with a game plan to not only meet your needs, but improve them! My goal has always been to have natural blond highlights, not platinum, but a nice neutral color. Joel has never disappointed. Today Monday 12/24/12 Visited salon for the first time on Friday 12/21/12 Stylist...Jamie I have issues with my hair in Denver due to the low humidity. I don't get the curl I am used to in a more humid climate. And I am at that age where my hair has lost it's color, more or less. I am surprised by the lack of experience most stylist have with color. Or helping the client pick a pleasing color for the client . While my hair is shorter than I would like, I have to say the cut is a good one. And the color is a good choice. My husband, who seldom says much about my hair, actually stood in the kitchen yesterday moring and said, "I have been meaning to tell you, your hair looks great!" Taylor has cut my hair and beard a number of times (she showed me how to keep the beard neat and trimmed short, the way I like it, between visits).
