I see that lots of care was put into making the dishes "fancy" but they overdo every dish with so many components that the resulting flavor is completely nondescript. "Hot sauce foam" on chicken and waffles? A bit much. The food is overall pretty decent still but disappointing for the price. ALSO: they have rules section on the menu which I find to be a bit childish and disrespectful. We wanted to try somewhere new, so we browsed Yelp and decided on this café. Street parking was limited, but there's a decent parking behind the restaurant, which was convenient. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by a very pink, cozy interior -- cute and inviting. The café does get busy, so expect some hustle and bustle. Menu-wise, the selection felt limited compared to what we're used to. We started with the beignets, but unfortunately they were too dense and tough for our liking. The chocolate sauce didn't add much flavor either. For our mains, I ordered the Hopewell Farm grass-fed burger with pimento cheese, and my husband had the buttermilk pancakes. The burger was delicious -- the pimento cheese really elevated it. The horseradish is made in-house which was creamy and delicious...coming from someone who does not like horseradish. The pancakes were huge, fluffy, and very filling. Overall, the food was good and flavorful. Service was fine -- friendly but nothing remarkable. This was our first time here and the food at Caroline's was delicious and definitely a 5 star rating. The interior was super cute and clean. It's girly with lots of pink but has a chic cafe feel on an adorable little town square. The service was the one area that was lacking and why the 4 stars. The Good: The food was great. It was fresh and prepared very well. The avocado toast had tons of flavor, the bacon was perfectly cooked, the potatoes were crisp in the outside and soft on the inside, the sourdough toast was very good and the biscuit and the house made jam was on point. The Ehhh: We were seated immediately, which was great, but then we were forgotten. We sat there for about 15 minutes before anyone recognized that we had not been approached by a server. The place is pretty small inside and there was a ton of staff working so that should not have been the case. Once we were served, the server really didn't follow back up with us, even knowing that we were missed in the beginning. As someone who has done that job, that's definitely not the way to course correct. I will give them the benefit of the doubt that this is not the norm and see how the service is the next time we go. I've been a few times now, and every single visit has been consistent, fresh, flavorful, and just impressive from start to finish. The location is right in the heart of downtown Flowery Branch, which has been growing fast and becoming a really cute, walkable area. Parking has never been a problem for me--though I typically visit during non-peak hours--but I can imagine it gets busier during prime brunch time. Still, it's worth the effort. The inside of Caroline's is honestly adorable. It has a charm and comfort that feels inviting right away. Great lighting, tasteful art, and very comfortable chairs (I appreciate that as a bigger guy). It feels thoughtful--like someone took their time designing a space that people would actually want to spend time in. Whether you're there with a significant other, family, or friends, it's just a great environment to enjoy a slow, delicious morning. Let's talk food. The menu is tight, and that's a great thing. It's clear they focus on a handful of items and knock them out of the park. Everything I've tried so far has been excellent. My wife can't get enough of their TK Sandwich: grilled sourdough, lettuce, tomato, Dunes mayo, white cheddar, bacon, egg, and she always adds avocado. It's balanced, fresh, and that grilled sourdough is crispy perfection. My first visit, I had their fried chicken & bourbon waffle with bacon jam, brown butter farm egg, maple syrup, and hot sauce foam (don't worry, it's flavorful--not spicy). I'm not exaggerating when I say it's the best chicken and waffles I've had. The waffle is soft with just the right hint of sweetness, the chicken is tender and perfectly fried with a thin, crispy crust, and the bacon jam + syrup combo is just magic. Then came the sweet section. They serve a butter-fried banana bread topped with whipped cream, maple syrup, and fleur de sel. I'm a banana bread fan to begin with, but this is next level. It's the first time I've ever had it fried like this, and it was so good I had to stop myself from eating the whole thing before my meal. A must-try. On another visit, I tried their fried chicken sandwich--and let me tell you, it's the best chicken breakfast sandwich I've had in the area. Pimento cheese, bacon, Alabama white BBQ, and green tomato chow chow on a grilled brioche bun. It all came together perfectly. Now, the sides. The crispy potatoes are absolutely incredible. Golden, flavorful, soft inside with a perfect crisp outside--not too crunchy, just right. I forgot to order them the second time and got fries instead, and I was a little bummed... until I tasted the fries. Turns out, Caroline's also makes some of the best fries around. Flavorful, crispy, not greasy--just delicious. Caroline's has quickly become one of my favorite breakfast spots. Everything is made with care, the staff is warm and welcoming, and the food is consistently amazing. Came here on opening day because we live close by And we love Antebellum! We are so excited to have a brunch spot and it does not disappoint! The aesthetic is something right out of sex in the city vibes, pink walls, gold and white accents- it was too crowded to take pictures today but you'll have to trust me on this. Unfortunately today they were out of many menu items but it's understandable and our second choices were very good. We didn't have any adult beverages today but the menu looks fun! This was my second time here. First time was right after they opened so always like to see how things are going. We walked into a full restaurant met just inside the front door by the hostess and I believe the manager. We were sat right away. It was a Sunday at around 12:30 so was pleasantly surprised there was no wait. The decor is still cute as ever with the blush pink walls and bold accent wall. A great place for a special occasion or girls day! We ordered the hamburger and the classic breakfast. The only thing we did not like was the new bread for the hamburger. Last time it was a classic bun. The hamburger itself was tasty with a smoked flavor. The breakfast plate was great. The eggs buttery and tender the potatoes delicious and the sourdough... now that was excellent! Loved the flavor definitely will get again. I got a strawberry cupcake to go ( for research purposes) :) and it was SO good tender flavorful and sweeeet Yum! This review is about service at breakfast. I arrived first and was the only customer. There were two workers in the dining area and I asked for coffee with cream. It came but there was no spoon inside the napkin on the table which wrapped the knife and fork or anywhere in sight to fetch it myself. I was preparing to use my knife to stir it when the waitress appeared. I asked her for a spoon. She disappeared hopefully to get me a one. No such luck. My two friends arrived and the waitress handed them menus, took their drink orders then delivered their sweet tea and coffee with cream. She took their food orders. Again no spoons were available or delivered to stir our coffees. The waitress came by and we requested spoons again. One came for my friend and then mine came a bit later after me asking again. In a few minutes the waitress came back to ask how everything was. My friend still hadn't received her bacon. It would have been nice to have been offered a coffee refill but that only came after my friend requested one. I had given up by then. The coffee was good--for $3.25/cup it should be. Wouldn't it be simpler to wrap a spoon inside the napkin along with the knife and fork? All this hassle for a damn spoon at a fancy place helps remind me why I rarely go out to eat anymore! Also, I snuck one of her potatoes, wow, very tasty. My chicken and waffle was simply amazing. The chicken was fried perfectly hot and tasty, the waffle was crisp, and the fried egg on top added much flavor to a dish that already had awesome flavor. The hot sauce taste was not overpowering, but I tasted it in the backgroud of every bite. Sweet, hot, crispy, this is an awesome dish, loved it, every last bite and the buttermilk biscuit crisp outside soft inside with jam that did the buscuit justice. When our check came in the pink leatherish folder, it showed a cohesiveness in the decor and even pink flowers on the table that made the meal very special. Adorable dining establishment on the square in Flowery Branch, excellent service and amazing food made this day's brunch first time experience definitely worthwhile! There are a couple tables outside and the interior is very feminine, cozy and quite comfortable. Restaurant was busy but not overcrowded. We were greeted warmly by host and our server, Bailey, definitely took it to the next level. The coffee & cappuccino were great (unfortunately no apple juice ). We ordered the bourbon chicken & waffle and the TK with avocado (both highly recommended by Bailey) and the strawberry cupcakes to go. The food arrived quickly, was fresh and absolutely scrumptious! Super happy we opted at ordering to take the cupcakes to go as no room to add after the delectable breakfast.
