The pupusa here are SO GOOD that I could eat them every day, if it wasn't for the fact that the service takes forever! I ordered takeout and had to sit down and wait for like 40 mins for TWO pupusas. While they were delicious I was annoyed it took that long. The restaurant inside also seems like a nice place to eat but I only got takeout. 3 stars purely based off horrible service. I low-key think the waitress forgot to put our food ticket in. Took 1hour and 40mins for the entrees to come out. We also noticed another table that was there before us get up and leave because their food wasn't coming out. At no point did our waitress advise us if their was an issue in the kitchen or even asked if we were doing okay. I'm fairly easy to please when it comes to food. The food was good however, the dining experience made me not want to return. FOOD: I had shrimp in tomato sauce. The shrimps were super fresh and delicious. Came with tostones and salad. Perfect light meal. My friend had churrasco w/ white rice and beans. Pretty generic but the churrasco had a great flavor to it. After the entrees we were hesitant on ordering pupusas Bc we didn't want to wait long but that was the original reason we came here. I haven't had a good pupusa in over a year and my homegirl swore up and down this was the best pupusa spot in her area. WOMP WOMP. 30mins to come out and they were dry. So I just asked for a delivery and I give this place a three star just because of the delivery it arrived on time and he was very nice, as far as the food goes not so good the pupusas are very bland no taste at all, and there very skimpy with the fillin the tamales de elote were delicious but very small and skinny, the curtido was horrible and it taste like plain coleslaw the salsa was watery! The point is it was horrible for 30 bucks I could've ate Burger King definitely not worth it read more

The restaurant may not be well lit or renovated. In fact it appears to be a former American breakfast/burger joint that was converted to serve meso-American food. But Make no mistake, the pupusas are excellent here. Came by to try new things and the simply plain cheese pupusa (pupusas con questio) was delicious served with some lightly pickled cold cabbage and a cold tomato-based soup/sauce to go along and balance the dish. I would come again. May be a little heavy for an early breakfast but perfect a brunch or snack! Sorry but I ate it before I can provide a picture since it was my first time and I ordered it to go. The tamales here are also on point. Pupusas are $2.50 each and with additional toppings it's $3. Tamales are $3 each. The corn based pupusas are excellent. While the rice flour pupusas were a bit thicker and crispy, I enjoyed the original corn based ones more. read more

This is a great Salvadoran restaurant a stones throw from the 2,5 train at 149th and 3rd ave. I stopped by on my way home from work and got take out. The waiter behind the counter was very courteous and helped explain a few things on the menu that I was not familiar with. He let me try their homemade Jugo de Maranon, which is a cashew fruit juice, and it was so delicious! I waited around 15 minutes for my whole roasted chicken, side of rice and beans, and 2 "mixed" (beans, cheese, pork) papusas. The hour long train ride home was killer with the smells wafting up through the bags. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire meal, the chicken was juicy and flavorful, the papusas were flavorful, and it was enough for dinner for 2 and 2 lunches. Came to this place for the first time after hearing that Seis Vecinos has some competition. The food was pretty alright. My friends ordered chicken and cheese pupusas-they like them. Had a real homemade taste to them and only $2.00 so the price was good. I ordered the Desayuno Hondureño and that's where troubles began. It was supposed to be refried beans, eggs, and a baleada. Let's just say it wasn't your typical Honduran breakfast. The tortilla wasn't homemade and the extra two tortillas I received were corn tortillas-wasn't asked for a choice in the matter. Sorry but I had to give it a one I went there on a Valentine's Day because I was looking forward to eating some pupusa and I was so happy to find a place so close to my job in my borough that sells it. I bought different types of pupusa and trust me I know how it could and should taste not because I'm Salvadorian however I had a salvadorian friend yrs ago and I went to one in Manhattan too and the curtido was awesome. I ate pupusa in Brooklyn and this one in the Bronx and their curtido and trust me I def was not impressed plus they only take cash and their horchata is not the type I like I rather drink Mexican horchata it taste way better although they can lower the sweetness a bit. The waitress had me waiting forever and didn't ask if I liked it plus I had to get up to pay instead of asking me if I was ready to checkout and they didn't have any desserts on the menu they had. So this place is a no from me sorry. read more
