I haven't had Central American food like this since I left Miami the baleada con todo más steak was delicious I ordered on uber eats and they followed my order instructions (extra beans and crema) delish! and the steak was tender & the tortilla was handmade. The chicken pastelitos comes with two and the filling is juicy and flavorful comes with a cabbage slaw and tomato sauce, again they followed my directions and put the sauce on the side - I also ordered the chicken soup and requested it be spicy and guess what it was! It came with rice & didn't disappoint, the only thing I didn't like was the pupusa de chicharrones y queso idk it was just super dry I've had wayyy better pupusas in sunnyside. Tonight I ordered via uber eats again but this time I ordered the frijole y chicharrones soup it's supposed to come with tortilla and rice I requested it "a little spicy if possible" cause last time the chicken soup was really really spicy, again the followed my instructions it's just the right amount of heat it was made to order a lot of chicharrón in the soup the flavor is on pint maybe could've been seasoned a little more it's giving stew peas u can most definitely taste the bean flavor in that broth, it came with white rice and a 2 handmade tortillas - not sure if they made a mistake or they just threw in a pescado frito - it was tied to my other bag - I took a small taste and I've had better and those plátanos are disgusting -

Quick Lunch! My niece and I came here for lunch. The restaurant had a few tables occupied. After doing a quick scan of the menu I went with the fried whole snapper along with a mojito. I noticed the drink menu didnt have prices. But being in the BX I figured how much could it be. I should also mentioned I visited in December of 2022. The fish was amazing! Perfectly fried and seasoned. The mojito was ok, not strong but not weak. Imagine my surprise upon receiving the bill and seeing my mojito was more than the pork chop meal my niece had. The mojito was $28!!!! All I could do was shake my head, laugh and pay my bill.

Seis Vecinos is my go-to taco spot. I eat here 2-3 times a week whether through Uber Eats or sitting in and they NEVER disappoint. Service 10/10 The staff is friendly and kind. They go out their way to make sure they get your order right (there's sometimes a language barrier so please be patient and respectful) and if there's ever any issues, they have no problem correcting it. Food comes out fast and they are super accommodating in terms of customizing orders to your liking. Ambiance 10/10 Restaurant reminds of a scene from a traditional Mexican rustic movie. It has a lot of space so it's perfect for a family or work gathering or even a cute date. Multiple TV's are also on display and they are happy to put on whatever sport you want to watch (Basketball for me ;) ) I love that they take the time to decorate the restaurant based on whatever holiday is close. We're a week from Valentines Day and the restaurant is decked out in red hearts Food 9/10 In my humble opinion, Seis Vecinos has some of the best tacos in the Bronx. My go to are the chicken and steak tacos. They are tender, juicy and packed with authentic flavor. I've also had the chicken taco bowl and it is such a large helping. Another one of my favorties are the Colombian rice and beans. The pinto beans are super flavorful and always made fresh. Another thing I'd like to add is that in addition to being delicious, the food is affordable. $3.50 a taco? Sign me up! Drinks 8/10 While I'm not a super heavy drinker, they have a great red sangria and they don't miss with their pina coladas. I always leave full and feeling nice! They also offer drinks to go which I love! All in all, I love Seis Vecinos! They are a great Mexican restaurant, ran by good people. I'd recommend them over and over again. 9/10 in total.

The restaurant was nice and well decorated and the waiters were very friendly. Onto the food, the only good items were the Horchata and tortilla chips with guacamole. The food IMO was meh. The pollo con tajadas was alright, but I wish the chicken had more crunch. The appearance was nice though. The guava tres leche was also meh. Only the guava topping was good. I also ordered sopa de res and tamales de cerdo to take home, but again they weren't as good. The soup had a dark color and didn't have a good amount of vegetables. The taste wasn't bad but not good. The rice also had a dark color. The tamales were meh and very small. Not worth $4. Overall, I rate the horchata and chips n guac a 10/10. The pollo con tajadas 6.5/10, sopa de res 5/10 and tamales de cerdo a 3.5/10.

Seis vecinos is a great choice if your looking for great food and drinks! The service is always great with waiters always being very attentive and the food coming out very quickly. The passion fruit margarita was mixed just right and it had a great ambiance for a Saturday night. Definitely will return.

I've read other reviews and I decided to go.Everyone was accurate. The food was phenomenal, excellent customer service and satisfying tasty drinks. This is a hidden gem. Inside was decorated for Halloween/ Fall. What I didn't like : My waitress was trying to up sell. For example, suggestions of extra shot in my drink. I am willing spend money regardless. Please don't persuade me. There was no heat in the restaurant. I had to keep my sweater and coat on while enjoying my dinner. Overall , I do recommend to bring money and expect to spend it. It is worth it though. I guarantee that

UPDATE FROM 7/30/31 - I tried not to update this, but Wow, the service has changed, and the food quality has as well. The last two visits have been a complete disaster, and why I say two is because the first time the service started to change, I decided to try it one more time only for the same thing to happen. I used to love this place when visiting for family dinner/lunch, but it has changed so much. Everything has changed so much it seems to me that everything's rushed to accommodate the high demand of the restaurant, which in turn give lousy food quality and service not like how it used to be and the servers are rude. And I'm not just saying that my last two experience rude servers both times; table busers / cleaners were way more likable. Around me had tables getting wrong orders just chaotic and destructive for a Friday at 6 pm

We decided to try this restaurant because we pass it a lot and never had the opportunity to experience it. They have outdoor seating which we prefer since it was beautiful outside. Immediately when they sat us down they asked if we wanted guacamole or ceviche before we even had a chance to look at the menu which I thought was kind of weird as in it was complimentary. We opted for the ceviche, and ordered the rest of our food. The service was very quick but also lack of communication because one of the servers did not speak English. Tacos- Chipotle chicken, Mexican sausage, spicy pork and pineapple pork Pupusas- Chicken, loroco, chorizo and pork belly with cheese Mixed fajita- Chicken, steak and shrimp sautéed with peppers onions and tomatoes. Served with rice, beans, cream, pico de gallo, and tortillas Picadera- A medley of fried chicken breast, breaded shrimp, chorizo, pork chops and steak, on top of plantains, topped off with chipotle sauce, red onions and pico de gallo Yuca con chicharron- Cassava w/fried pork belly, tomatoes, onions, cilantro and tomato sauce Ceviche seis Vecinos- White fish and shrimp cured w/ lime, mixed with pico de gallo and served with plantain chips The food itself were all really flavorful and tasty, ordered too much and had them as leftovers for the next day. I talked to one of the waiters and said that the restaurant has only been open for 3 years. A very cozy spot for good food. I would come back again. Food- 9/10 Cleanliness- 8/10 Staff- 6/10

Mixed Seafood Soup - Sopa de Marisco

My lunch was pre-arranged here as part of a work trip. It was lovely. Cozy, friendly service and fresh guacamole made right away at the table. Lots of options (perhaps too many options, I couldn't decide!) I took a leap of faith and ordered the sopa de marisco (mixed seafood soup) thanks to my memory of an old episode of Parts Unknown-thanks Anthony Bourdain! It was incredible! Hope to return the next time I'm in the Bronx.

So I went to this spot right before everything shut down and I literally had plans to return the following weekend ...I work in a city jail and on one housing unit the guys were talking about where they would be going to eat once the got out.....I heard this place mentioned at least 5 times....so I had to come. I stopped in on a Monday at around 4:30pm...place was pretty empty. ..maybe 4 other tables at most.We were seated and attended to right away.....the waiter was very helpful in helping us decide on a drink......I went in knowing what I wanted to eat...the service was very good.....we had a large Margarita we could share and we both order pupusas......I also had a side of chips and salsa. ..I did not have but they do offer freshly table side made guacamole.....and one patron had a birthday....and the Restuarant crew really came out extra lit to sing happy birthday. I will be going back once "outside" opens again.....I hope this is one of the businesses that survives the pandemic. I enjoy their food enough that I plan on ordering take from them now as a way of supporting...

When we entered, we were greeted with kind smiles from the ladies and they welcomed us to sit at any free table. Inside has lots of decor with ample seating. We sat and a server grabbed us menus. We got a carnitas burrito, grilled cactus side, horchata, and strawberry limeade (per her recommendation). Everything came so fast, and they even split the burrito for us! Oh my god, everything was so good. This has to be one of the BEST burritos I have ever had, comparable to the ones in San Diego. I love carnitas, and they do it so well here. It was tender, flavorful, just the perfect amount of sauce and seasoning! And the horchata was the best I have ever had too! The strawberry limeade was refreshing, and the grilled cactus was good! It was my first time trying it and it reminded me of aloe vera/okra texture. I had such a great time, such a great experience, I will definitely be back!

They have options for dining in or taking out and were quite efficient We went with a burrito and a few tacos - the burrito is massive, I would say it's meant for two people at once and filled with rice, meat, vegetables, thick flour tortilla and covered with different sauces - it is very heavy! The tacos are Mexican-style with meat and vegetarian options and were simply delicious. The meats we got - carnitas, steak, chicken were all cooked great with tender juiciness. They gave ample lime and sauces to pair as needed. Prices felt reasonable. Overall taqueria tlaxcalli had exceptional Mexican food for NYC with very good hospitality and dining options and I highly recommend! The tacos were a tier above my favorite NYC tacos - Santos, Los tacos no 1 and carnitas Ramirez.

I usually go to the Westchester Square spot as it's the location closest to my parents, but I've also been to their restaurant in Kingsbridge and (most recently) this one on Westchester Ave. The standard items one would expect to find at a Mexican restaurant are on EP's menu. What makes them stand out for me though, is the vast selection they have within each menu section and the quality of they food they serve. My usual go-tos are their burritos and tacos - they offer a variety of proteins to complement and they're always delicious. Outside of that, their soups are great as well as their nachos. I've only eaten in-house a few times; my standard is takeout and it's always ready by the promise time. Overall, Estrellita is a resounding yes for me; they are one of the best examples of quality and consistency, and I would always recommend them for good Mexican food in the Bronx.
