I leave a 5 star review for the actual food. 0 for service. Ordered $30 worth of tacos, left a 20% tip (kiosk) at the time of ordering, and were the only people seated outside. Never heard name called. I'm sure they did call, but not loud enough to hear, or called again (we were seated at the table infront of the food truck. After time passed, I went up to truck and asked about our food, to which they pointed and said it was there. Got the order, clearly it had been sitting there for awhile. I understand these trucks get busy, and you need to pay attention to your order being called. My issue here is, we were the ONLY people outside and sitting at the table infront of the truck. I just gave you a 20% tip ahead of time... call the name loudly, or a second time at least, or bring the food out? It's slow... to walk up to the truck and see the two workers cross armed and chatting is frustrating picking up cold tacos that are falling apart. read more

So disappointing. We have been coming from Beaverton to eat at El Sanchos for YEARS. Today we hit the truck at Crux. we ordered 4 tacos each and essentially got a taco bowl. The shells that are normally shaped and crisp were soggy and falling apart. Couldn't eat as an individual taco because they just blended all ingredients together. Also ordered chips and guacamole started to enjoy and found a half a Avacado sitting inside some mashed. Tried to use the plastic fork (which broke) to cut it up but it was impossible to enjoy. At Crux in Bend, getting my beer on. Found the taco truck, and the lengua here is perfect. Marinated, fresh, good Oaxacan cheese topping it off, along w other stuff. Freshly made, not to big, not too small. Ordered 2, went back for 2 more. My vegetarian inner self rated the mushroom tacos 5 stars. Just eat the lengua. You won't regret it. PS. Came here as it was a recommended spot and enjoyed it! There's a large outdoor seating area that is perfect for dogs and a little pod of food trucks with is how we found El Sancho! There's two small parking lots but tons of street parking just adjacent to the space, so that shouldn't be a concern. As I wanted a small bite to eat, the size of these street tacos was perfect! They each had their own unique flavors and complemented well with the additional toppings. I got the carnitas, barbacoa, and chicken tacos. Solid spot full of people, so finding outdoor seating may be hard at times, but definitely will come back. read more

Not to be confused with its mother restaurant, El Sancho, this taco kiosk is planted in the outdoor yard space at Crux Fermentation Project. They are definitely pumping out some of the most delicious tacos you will find in all of Bend, if not all of Oregon. We come to Bend a couple of times a year, and the satisfying pairing of Sancho's and Crux is worth a visit every single time- even when there's snow on the ground. In the summertime, this pace is cranking, and if you can manage getting in a line that's less than 20 minutes consider yourself lucky. Tip the team working there in kind, as I generally see them working their butts off. I've tried every one of their tacos, and though it's like picking your favorite child, I'd have to go with the Oaxacan cheese and green chile or the pork carnitas. Both are moist, super flavorful and have some real wow factor. That mushroom one is pretty stellar too. With 3 coming in at less than 10 bucks, you can try a few. Go enjoy! I'm jealous. read more

El Sancho catered my daughters wedding at Eagle crest!! They did it perfectly!! Condiments, salads,etc. were self serve. The tacos, with 5 or 6 choices of meat or vegan, were quickly made to individual order and the 100 some guests quickly served with wonderful, hot tacos. No matter what you asked, you quickly got. The Venue: A great spot to get tacos while you visit the food market on the weekends or visit Downtown Bend in the weekday. Upshot: Get the "3 for $8" deal. It is worth it! A tamale of your choice with black beans and guacamole from El Sancho along with a pannini styled sandwich of your choice from Soupcon along with potato salad. At the ridiculously low price of $7 this combo meal fed two. And now we have to say that the scrumptious chicken mole tamale we tried today is tied for first place favorite at El Sancho for us along with the yummy yam filled tamale as noted in our original review. Very, very disappointed. Small tacos no onions, no cilantro hot sauce in little plastic tear open container. No salsa served. You have to pay almost $10 for a few chips and refried beans. The green sauce in little open packages looked neon green and tasted terrible. Nice building lots of style. Very busy it is not a place you feel you can relax and enjoy a meal. DELICIOUS! SABROSO! Basically really great tacos! I was put off off at 1st by the $3.50 for a taco, in Bend, at a brewery but they were fantastic. We went 2 days in a row. It was my b-day and I decided not to get a "fancy dinner" and instead have a delicious beer at Crux, enjoy the amazing outdoor setting and get more tacos. The Carnitas, Barbacoa and Cheese and Green Chili tacos were delish. Tortillas were great. But I'd pass on the mushroom again. No flavor and the texture was of rehydrated mushrooms. The tacos were simple yet so flavorful. They have a variety of different protein choices. Our favorites were the carnitas and the Green Chile con Queso Oaxaca. The gentleman that was working was so upbeat and had such a fun personality. The salsas are not super spicy so if you're trying to kick it up a notch I would recommend asking for a fried Serrano pepper. I unfortunately am not reviewing the food, my disappointment comes from the services. One of the men working there on Thursday May 6th was extremely rude to my grandson. He had placed an order, about 20 mins after he went to check if it was ready and was told he went back 10 minutes later and was told "stop wasting my time" this was the answer given to a 9 years old child. The BEST tacos I have ever eaten! I went to a catering event for lunch that served the chorizo, carnitas, and pastor tacos along with beans, rice, and guac. The food was so good that I searched out their taco truck that same night for more! At the cart I had the spicy mushroom and the chorizo. I normally don't like chorizo as it can be so greasy and have a strange granular texture. Not so with theirs. It is delicious! No future trip to Bend will be complete without a stop here! read more

El Sancho at Crux used to be our go to but last night was the 4th time they have disappointed us in the last month and I am not looking to try a 5th time. The line at dinner time is astronomically long - like prepare to wait an hour. You'd think that with people waiting that long that the folks in the taco shack would be hustling, and that the food would be fantastic. Sadly, neither is the case. We'll start with the service: Last night there were 4 people in the taco shack: the guy taking the orders and assembling stuff; two guys on the griddles; and one guy that may have been on the fryer but was mostly just chatting to the other two. Watching the three that were supposed to be doing the cooking, they would literally work for 30 seconds, and then step back to talk about their past weekend and their upcoming plans. They take names when they take the orders so you'd think they would call names when the orders were ready. Sadly, that didn't happen either. There were a few big orders immediately in front of us and they got so mixed up that no one knew whose order was whose. On our order, we asked for 9 barbacoa tacos and one carnitas taco. When they were served, no-one could tell me which was the carnitas taco. The people in the taco shack are obviously just collecting a paycheck and do not care at all about the sales or the customer service aspect of the position. Now for the food: I'll preface this by saying that the El Sancho restaurant is one of my favorite places ever. The tacos are flavorful and perfectly greasy. The El Sancho bowl is a fantastic blend of everything. The margaritas... trust me - order the passion fruit!! The taco shack at Crux has none of these things. The meat comes in a frozen block, that they hatchet off directly onto the grill where they ignore it (see above comments about all the chit chat) until such time as it becomes this dried up jerky stuff... at which time they slap a small spoon of it onto a cold taco shell, smoosh several tacos into a piece of foil, and then haphazardly sprinkle some cilantro and onions over the lot. The El Sancho bowl gets a plate overflowing with rice and chips with a reasonable portion of black beans and a smidgen of the dried up jerky meat and some guacamole. Everything then gets shoved into the serving window and folks get to figure out whose food is whose. Since Crux is not serving food at the moment, next time I go there, I'll either bring a picnic or visit Rogue Chef - where at least the lines are shorter and the garlic fries are outta this world!! read more

Soooo good! These are some serious tacos for a seriously solid deal (3 fresh tacos for $8). Barbacoa and the Oaxaca cheese tacos were definitely my favorite. There's a little cart to the side of the stand with toppings that you can help your self too (onions, peppers, radish, cheese, etc). Never had a bad experience here! The food is amazing. I've tried all the tacos, each one is unique and equally delicious. I've had a few other dishes, all delicious too, salads are my favorite. Super affordable, especially if you go during happy hour. The margaritas are super delicious! If there's three or more of you, get a pitcher!! They also made my son (one and a half years old) and drink that looked the same because he was having a fit.
