The wait staff were very friendly, Mark my waiter, has worked here for over 20 year! Speaks volumes about how they run this place! The service was chill, and the food was 1000% full of delicious flavor. I tried their classic famous salad, the seafood paella, and the flan! Absolutely hit the spot!! Visiting here on a Sunday evening was a totally different experience! It felt less like dining out and more like sharing a family meal in a much-loved, historic home. I'll definitely be returning and will bring friends and family with me next time I visit Tampa!

As the oldest restaurant in Florida and the largest Spanish restaurant in the world, we felt it was a must-visit to experience its rich history and unique atmosphere. We also reserved seats for the Flamenco dance show, which had a $10 cover charge per person. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and enormous, with so many different dining rooms. You could probably get lost trying to find your friends inside, just kidding! We were lucky enough to get a table near the stage, so we could enjoy the Flamenco performance while having dinner. For our meal, we started with the Caldo Gallego "Giant Soup" ($10), which was hearty, flavorful, and incredibly comforting. We also ordered Columbia's Original "1905" Salad ($18). Made with crisp iceberg lettuce, julienned baked ham, natural Swiss cheese, tomatoes, olives, grated Romano cheese, Lea & Perrins® Worcestershire sauce, and their famous garlic dressing, it was fresh, light, and absolutely delicious. Our main dish was the Mojito Chicken ($25). The chicken was very flavorful, especially with its delicious citrus-garlic sauce. Although the chicken itself was just a little on the dry side in my opinion, the flavorful sauce made up for it, and the dish was still very enjoyable. We also had the Paella "a la Valenciana" ($40), which was loaded with clams, mussels, shrimp, scallops, calamari, chicken, and pork, along with green peppers, Spanish onions, ripe tomatoes, garlic, and a splash of white wine. It was a generous portion packed with fresh seafood and rich Spanish flavors. The New York Strip Sirloin "The Bambino" ($53) was another excellent choice. The 14 oz. USDA Choice wet-aged boneless strip steak was tender, juicy, and cooked perfectly. To finish our meal, we ordered the Flan ($8). It was smooth, creamy, and absolutely delicious, a perfect ending to a wonderful dinner. The Flamenco dance show was fantastic! The dancers were energetic and passionate, making the entire dining experience even more lively and memorable. Combined with the excellent service, it made for a truly enjoyable evening. Overall, Columbia Restaurant is much more than just a place to eat, it's a historic landmark and an unforgettable dining experience. Between the beautiful Spanish architecture, rich history, delicious food, outstanding service, and exciting Flamenco performance, it's definitely worth visiting when you're in Ybor City.

My daughter always wanted to try a seafood boil so we came here after the last day of our cruise…read more We had a lot of time to kill before our flight so we took the trolley from the aquarium stop. We were the first customers and the inside is small but clean and cozy. Staff was friendly. We ordered the snow crab feast and a calamari appetizer. The calamari was ok it wasn't seasoned. The snow crab feast came with coleslaw, corn, potatoes, and 4 pieces of crab leg sections. It was good but not great, the pieces didn't come out of the shell very easily and the pieces we did get out were pretty small, but we enjoyed the flavor and the experience very much.

We weren't too crazy because the fried are coated and the hush puppies were way over cooked with a weird batter/dough that reminded mea lot of an undercooked corn bread. Yes, the dark brown spheres on the bottom of the plate were hushpuppies. Service was excellent with the waiter checking in on us and refilling drinks. That might have been easier because we were late in coming in for lunch, so it wasn't really crowded. I imagine that during a busy dinner service, it's probably pretty loud, but here it was just a nice quite cafe feel. The big takeaway - the seafood was excellent. It was fresh, hot, well cooked. But the sides seem to fall down, nothing except the slaw was something I want again. So come for the seafood, but lower your expectations for the slaw.

A hidden Gem , Hands down best authentic Cuban Sandwich…read moreI've had in my life, the moist well seasoned pork reminded me of the Homemade pork my grandmother would make for the family In addition to Cuban Sandwiches , they also carry a variety of Chicken , steak , Turkey and vegan sandwiches . And to say the least the Flan flavors are to die for , they had approximately 20 different flavors to pick from , I had the Pistachio flan which was nothing less than amazing! The ambiance has great Vibes , and parking on the premises is an extra . I will definitely return to get my Cuban fix !

I decided to order the Cuban French toast though. Generous portion and steaming hot, more than enough for two people. Pillowy soft Cuban bread gently crisped and buttery on the outside. I wasn't so sure that I liked the custard it had been dipped in, but the bread itself was pretty dreamy. I wasn't experiencing major FOMO about the Cubans. Next time, Gadget! The horchata with espresso was blissful. Hits of cinnamon, combined with a smoky espresso and sweet creamy house-made Horchata. Service was straightforward and quick, just the way I like it. .

Flan. HEAVENLY FLAN. The top is the original (the best, imo), the center was pumpkin pie, the bottom dulce de leche. TRULY EXCELLENT.

I haven't eaten at Tropical Cuisine in awhile, and decided to do a take out…read more I visited on 7/7/25 and they were about to close. I didn't know they close at 6pm, so I was glad I was getting in and being able to get my food. Anyway, the employees are still the same and very friendly. I offered beef stew, pigeon and yellow rice, with a side order of potato salad. When I got to my destination, I was really impressed by the food looking the same. The big difference, and disappointment was the taste. The food wasn't good at all. What a disappointment!!! The meat was too salty, the rice was super hard, and I couldn't eat it. The potato salad was decent, but it had peas in it. I definitely don't eat sweet peas. So I ate around them. Trust me, the food was almost $18 and I gave a tip. I definitely won't be back. :-(

I placed an order for sancocho and Los tres golpes. To my surprise I received carrot and potato stew. Not an ounce of meat or anything CLOSE to a sancocho!!! Disappointed and upset! I wish I could get a refund because this is NOT what I asked for. Pictures below. The packaging of all the food is terrible as well. Leaks. Rice tastes old. I'm so disappointed I am not even eating this. Terrible and the last time I ever order here.
