Carl's is easy to find as there is a large, slightly faded, sign out front. The parking stalls are…read moreparallel to the road and there is a wide paved area between the restaurant and the road, so it is easy to pull into the stall. There are also stalls on the back side of the building. There is one ordering sign between each pair of stalls, so you make sure you are on the correct side if you do not have passenger. The menu is pretty extensive. There are several burger options along with hot dogs and chicken sandwiches. The prices are very good, especially for the baskets which include fries. Oh, and they only take cash so make sure you stop at the ATM before you drop by. When you are ready to order, push the green button. The server answered immediately and read back out order afterwards. Our food came out in about ten minutes. It was served in a bag with lots of ketchup packets as well as some salt packets. There was only one carhop and she was quite busy but greeted us with a smile and made sure we had all we needed. Unfortunately, both burgers were average at best. The double cheeseburger had two thin meat patties which had little to no taste. The veggies were fresh and crisp and the bun was fresh and soft, but the meat simply did not add anything to the sandwich. The Carl's Fat burger was no different. The meat patty was thicker but really did not have much taste. The curly fries and regular fries were pretty good. Both were hot, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. While they were certainly busy and seem to have a large local following, the burgers were a disappointment. This would be a place to stop for fries, and the milkshakes sounded delicious.

We found this place on yelp, but it was closing in an hour and it was a 40 minute drive from our hotel so we hopped in the car. While we were driving we were pulling up the menu and trying to call to order. The first call did not go well and we lost it altogether. The second call, we were trying to order and got to a roll the worker didn't recognize and we were like okay, just the others. We pull in 2 minutes before they close, only to discover the phoneline had cut out again and they didn't have our order at all. We talked for a minute realizing there had been a misunderstanding on both sides. That Roll we were trying to order? We were looking at a menu for another restaurant with the same name. The guy offered to make us some rolls, and we said no because clearly they were trying to clean up and get out of there. He ended up making us some rolls anyway! He probably doesn't know it but he absolutely saved our night and kept an hour drive from being wasted. These folx were so kind, went above and beyond, and the food was GOOD. If you are in the area you should stop by and ask for the Sexy Girl roll. It's not on the menu, but I bet it will be soon!
