The park is far more beginner-friendly than you may think at first glance, with several gentle banks and easy roll-ins to get you into the flow section, but it also rewards you with more and more possibilities the more you progress in skill. It's very easy to maintain speed for laps throughout the park once you get a feel for it, and the transition is pretty moderate/standard throughout the park. Nothing truly tricky to deal with if you're just trying to cruise around, but endless possibilities for someone truly skilled, from what I see happen here. The concrete in the shallow of the bowl is starting to develop a bit of pitting in two spots, so take note of that if you're riding smaller/harder wheels.

It is a fun little park, with a snake run, and a separate freestyle area. The only drawback is that the area is landscaped with trees, and the debris falls on the pavement floor. Debris can cause a skateboard wheel to abruptly stop, and may cause injury. Once I saw a guy bring he own broom, he said it's essential here! There are small ramps where you can work on your skills. Sometimes there are contests and events here.

Tan L.A. como puede serlo!…read more Lincoln Park in Lincoln Heights is a little big green, path filled, water encompassed, nature filled slice of Los Angeles and also home to Plaza De La Raza. We decided to mix up our normal weekend strolls as neither of us had been in quite some time. As a native I spent bulk of my time exploring LA as a kid in the late 80s and throughout 90s, before returning in the 2010s and appreciating it as an adult, much like appreciating the wildlife, culture and return to this historic park. We parked near the cultural center and did some nice leisurely strolling taking in just about most of Lincoln Park. People enjoy conversations, their own strolls and even some fishing in the lake. Ducks and birds of so many kinds including Coots, Gooses, Grebes, Mallards and variations of each. We were also able to explore the Plaza De La Raza center which was being cleaned and attended to. The park isn't as lavish as some in LA and the water stream is a bit lackluster compared to parks like Echo Park Lake, but still enjoyable and parking around the park via street Valley Blvd as well as Mission Rd where you'll find the public restrooms. You can also discover the Florence Nightingale Statue on the Valley Blvd side, the sign for it isn't present anymore and like a few parts of Lincoln Park could use some beautification and upkeep. There's a big playground off the Siegl Pl side, not to mention additional parking, tennis courts, baseball fields, soccer fields and picnic tables spaced out throughout the park. Additionally you can find some outdoor fitness equipment and also a skate park! The recreation center is basically like a YMCA with indoor basketball, other various sports, auditorium, classes, events, seasonal happenings and more. It's a surprisingly cool park with lots of hidden things, some more well tended to than others, feels like a refresh is coming soon. Definitely worth checking out Lincoln Park.

Very well maintained. Grass was very green. Trees were standing tall and proud offering wonderful shade. Flowers were gorgeous! Lots of people with their family and friends plus their furry friends spending a beautiful and sunny weekend at this park. Plenty of benches for parties and all. Children's playground is available. Libary of Books located at the front of the park. Great place to take a comfortable and relaxing stroll in the early morning or evening when it's cooler. Love to be back for more yoga and nice walks! Street parking is available, but may be limited when there are a lot of people. Come here early if possible.

I loved how there was a designated free parking area. We went on a Saturday evening and there was plenty of parking. I love how it also feels like an easy hiking trail with lots of greenery trees and plants to see. We walked around the park and it led up to a beautiful view of Los Angeles with the sunset. It was truly so peaceful and enjoyable throughout the trail. I loved every bit of. It was also super clean - no trash to be seen so I am so happy the community does their part in taking care of this park. I am definitely going to come back here and take my parents.

What I really love is that it feels like a hidden gem right in the middle of the city. There's plenty of parking, and the park itself is kept pretty clean. The big payoff is at the top--the views of Downtown LA and Dodger Stadium are absolutely beautiful and worth the climb. The only downside is the restrooms. I personally wouldn't use them since there are often homeless people around that area, but it doesn't take away from how enjoyable the trail is overall. If you're looking for a quick hike with gorgeous city views and a spot that's not overly crowded, Ascot Hills is definitely worth checking out.

SEXUAL MISCONDUCT!!…read more Management prefers to stay uninvolved even when it's concerning reports of sexual misconduct with evidence! I thought this was very concerning... I reported a coach that teaches during public sessions WITH evidence included. A month later, I received an email from Laura- the skating director at Pasadena- saying she was unable to take any action because the coach is a private instructor, despite them teaching at the rink for hours every day and teaching group classes! Below is the email I received. ------ "Because the concerns described involve interactions between a private coach and a private student outside of an employment relationship with the rink, any remedies or claims would generally need to be pursued by the individuals involved, as private citizens. That said, we want you to know that you are welcome at the rink, and we sincerely hope you will continue skating with us. Our goal is for everyone who comes to the rink to feel safe and respected, and we would be happy to see you back on the ice. Thank you again for bringing your concerns to our attention, and I apologize again for the delay in my response.
