The Al Pastor is the champ here with the pineapple dang it was good!! The queso burrito was da bomb. The cheese is slapped onto the flat top to brown and build a bit of extra flavor. The tortilla was set on top and then filled with your meat, rice and beans, green onions and your choice of salsa. OMG. The cheese was so flavorful it really heightened the flavor of the other ingredients. Try it!! So good We got one watermelon drink which was made with fresh watermelon. You can taste the grittiness of the melon in a good way. Maybe had sweetener added but dang it was good Outside seating is provided which gave it the street fair vibe. Parking was easy in the CVS lot. You get a decent amount of food for the money which is high on my list when we go out to eat.

I got there and the whole order was completely ready. I noticed only 2 people working there and a group of people dining in the dining room, so I was pleasantly surprised at how quick they were. In fact, one person in my group forgot to make a special request for their order, so I had to drive back up there to order a new item, and they really rushed my replacement order so that I wouldn't have to wait. I really appreciated that! The food was amazing! I personally had a chicken quesadilla, and I loved every bite of it. It was perfectly cooked, the chicken had great flavor, and the guac was perfect! 10 out of 10 in my book! If I lived in town, I'd be here on a weekly basis.

They also gave us a consommé to try, which was really flavorful and a perfect addition. It's a family-owned business, which we always love to support. The young girl who took our order and seated us (I think her name was Arian?) was incredibly sweet and had better customer service than many adults--she truly stood out. I recently tried out El Cocinero's food at an event that they catered to. As a person who eats meat and is not restricted, I would come here for the good food. The vegan al pastor had chunks of pineapple and it is seasoned and cooked to taste just like the meat version. The texture is just a little bit different but it does resemble a lot like meat. The vegan pastor also tastes just like the meat version, just less "smoky" and the texture is softer. The rice is flavorful and fluffy. The beans are seasoned just enough to have flavor but not compete with the other dishes. The creamy chipotle sauce was perfect topping the rice and beans. I do like vegan food but the only reference I had with Mexican vegan are places that try to add fake cheese and lean heavily on beans and rice. This business shows that you can still have all the flavors and not rely on cheese and meat. They focus on the flavors and not what would make non-vegans feel comfortable.
