My review is for the truck nearby. Parking isn't an issue staff is kind. Prices are fair as are their portions. They have specials as well as some American food like burgers, hot dogs, and fries. This happy spot is easy to get to and is right on the corner. I noticed the place however never went inside. I finally went in for the special: 2 tacos, rice, beans and a can of soda and it was Delicious! I ate every mortal on plate! Location: corner of Van Nuys and Friar Parking could be challenging as it is street parking. Dining is inside or outside. Staff very knowledgeable. I'll large tv inside sharing Latin music. 1/29/2026 High prices & Disrespectful Service. I stopped by to buy a Torta or a burrito. Either being $14 plus tax, I kindly asked the untrained, uncultured and disrespectful attendant lady, "$14? Por que tan caro? ($14? why so expensive?)". She rudely replied "Todo está caro. No es la primera vez que viene aquí. Vayase a comprar en otro lado donde esté mas barato (Everything is expensive. It is not the 1st time you come here. Go buy somewhere else where is cheaper " I wasn't there to fight or argue. Thus, I asked her "don't be disrespectful, because you invite others to disrespect you". I guess I was talking common sense and manners to the wrong person. She went rambling on over my words arguing senselessly. I just said "maintain your line of respect, and read to self-educate" and left. Amazing she recognizes I have been there sometimes before. Yet, she insulted me. So much for repeat buss. Granted, prices skyrocketed since COVID, but the prices in some fast food shacks are just way out of line with the quality of food, place, and service. Chipotle, $10.35 + tax chicken burrito, offer all organic meats and multiple ingredient options, a clean environment, better service and is highly regulated by the Health Dept. Further, they pay fair salaries and support their employees College education (debt free college degrees). Pollo loco burritos are $10.79 $14 for a combo meal. A fair option Tacos El Gordo on Victory sells pretty much the same type of tortas and burritos for $12.99. Everything else similar to Cecy's. Tacos Mexico $11.25 tortas and burritos. And $1.25 tacos on Tu and Th. Everything else similar to Cecy's & Tacos El Gordo. Best not to let the back-room employees run the place as a One-woman-show doing it all and ruin the business. We rolled into town late afternoon to celebrate a wedding anniversary and headed to Cecy's Taqueria truck that is usually in front of the Business Costco on Sherman Way. The truck wasn't there but we found out there was a brick and mortar location on Van Nuys Blvd in Van Nuys. We trekked over there and got the Al Pastor and Carnitas tacos I really liked and some Al Pastor nachos. I also ordered a side of rice, no bueno. The tacos at the Brick and Mortar location were just as good as the ones I got from the Food Truck. Both meats had good flavor and were moist. I ate them without any salsa, just onions and cilantro. The Mexican rice was a bit al dente and I had to drink water to eat the rice. The nachos were good and the chips tasted homemade. I'm happy to know if the truck isn't available I can hit the restaurant. Also the restaurant has a wider variety of choices such as Taquitos. I liked the truck and I liked the restaurant. I will be back next trip and plan to order the taquitos. If you want good Mexican tacos and nachos, roll by and stop in, the staff at both locations are nice. We were starving so I forgot to take pictures of the food but I did take pictures of the menu and the restaurant. read more

Food: 5/5 I really enjoy their food it is very tasty and you get a good amount for the price. Their food is fresh and they make your tacos with hand made tortillas and melted cheese before your meat and toppings. Really good stuff. This is $$ money signs. I've been coming to these guys for the past year because the food was good and priced reasonably. I'm not sure if it's because they've gained popularity but, they raised their prices on things like tacos. I understand inflation but their meat portions have shrunk. For two tacos is $6 dollars and they always seem to give me a small amounts of meat and chicken, kid size. For $6.50 I can go to El Pollo Loco and get 3 tacos filled with chicken, chips, and a drink. I'm all for supporting local businesses but not when I feel like they're scamming me now. And I see these guys driving around in $50,000 pick up trucks. Their foods, good, but not $3 a taco good. Update from previous review: we have been loyal customers to Cecys for a while now- must have ordered about 15 times. Unfortunately the previous time ruined our experience and we will no longer be customers. We placed an order and 3 items were incorrect. We called to correct the issue and received awful customer service. They did not fix our order and the manager never returned our call to assist us as promised. Mistakes are bound to happen but the way we were treated made us no longer want to support this business. We did find a replacement though and their food is incredible! I ordered here for the first time and got the carne asada fries and an horchata. The horchata was really good and the carne asada fries had really good flavor. My only critique would be for the fries to be a little crispier. But overall I think the portion you get is great for the price, and the lady that took my order was very sweet. read more

Was in the area to get my car serviced and had some time and a lot of hunger to kill. Walked to this Taco truck and ordered: - 2 tacos de tripa - 2 tacos de camarón - 2 tacos de pescado They were all perfectly delicious as well as well proportioned. The staff was friendly and attentive asking me about my choice of salsas instead of giving me way too much. SOMETHING CHANGED! Either today was an off day for the crew, or something changed. I usually rave about the hard shell tacos here (and recently we started adding the chili colorado here and there because it was so good) but today ... what a disappointment. The taco shreeded beef was dry and overcooked - it felt like they may have recooked yesterday's beef...AND the toppings were skimpy!! The chili colorado was nothing to brag about. If this was the first time ordering from here, i would NOT order again (tacos or the chili colorado). We may decide to order again 1 more time (because it used to be so good), and if it stays lackluster like today's order....it will be the last time. I have another place I already know is bomb.
