    Cecy's burrito

1/29/2026 High prices & Disrespectful Service. I stopped by to buy a Torta or a burrito. Either being $14 plus tax, I kindly asked the untrained, uncultured and disrespectful attendant lady, "$14? Por que tan caro? ($14? why so expensive?)". She rudely replied "Todo está caro. No es la primera vez que viene aquí. Vayase a comprar en otro lado donde esté mas barato (Everything is expensive. It is not the 1st time you come here. Go buy somewhere else where is cheaper " I wasn't there to fight or argue. Thus, I asked her "don't be disrespectful, because you invite others to disrespect you". I guess I was talking common sense and manners to the wrong person. She went rambling on over my words arguing senselessly. I just said "maintain your line of respect, and read to self-educate" and left. Amazing she recognizes I have been there sometimes before. Yet, she insulted me. So much for repeat buss. Granted, prices skyrocketed since COVID, but the prices in some fast food shacks are just way out of line with the quality of food, place, and service. Chipotle, $10.35 + tax chicken burrito, offer all organic meats and multiple ingredient options, a clean environment, better service and is highly regulated by the Health Dept. Further, they pay fair salaries and support their employees College education (debt free college degrees). Pollo loco burritos are $10.79 $14 for a combo meal. A fair option Tacos El Gordo on Victory sells pretty much the same type of tortas and burritos for $12.99. Everything else similar to Cecy's. Tacos Mexico $11.25 tortas and burritos. And $1.25 tacos on Tu and Th. Everything else similar to Cecy's & Tacos El Gordo. Best not to let the back-room employees run the place as a One-woman-show doing it all and ruin the business. Best wishes!

We rolled into town late afternoon to celebrate a wedding anniversary and headed to Cecy's Taqueria truck that is usually in front of the Business Costco on Sherman Way. The truck wasn't there but we found out there was a brick and mortar location on Van Nuys Blvd in Van Nuys. We trekked over there and got the Al Pastor and Carnitas tacos I really liked and some Al Pastor nachos. I also ordered a side of rice, no bueno. The tacos at the Brick and Mortar location were just as good as the ones I got from the Food Truck. Both meats had good flavor and were moist. I ate them without any salsa, just onions and cilantro. The Mexican rice was a bit al dente and I had to drink water to eat the rice. The nachos were good and the chips tasted homemade. I'm happy to know if the truck isn't available I can hit the restaurant. Also the restaurant has a wider variety of choices such as Taquitos. I liked the truck and I liked the restaurant. I will be back next trip and plan to order the taquitos. If you want good Mexican tacos and nachos, roll by and stop in, the staff at both locations are nice. We were starving so I forgot to take pictures of the food but I did take pictures of the menu and the restaurant.

My wife and I enjoyed our chicken burrito and torta. Chicken was great grilled and tasty. Servers were so nice and accommodating. Small corner location. Only a few seats inside but they do have outdoor tables as well .

Cecy knows what's up... I kept seeing this place pop up and one day I gave it a chance. Let me tell you it has became one of my fav spots! Located on Vannuys close to Victory. Food: 5/5 I really enjoy their food it is very tasty and you get a good amount for the price. Their food is fresh and they make your tacos with hand made tortillas and melted cheese before your meat and toppings. Really good stuff. This is $$ money signs. Service: 5/5 They are really nice when I pick my order up. I don't dine in but I order ahead and pick up. Ambiance: I am not sure but it is a small spot with a couple of tables and chairs. The place looks pretty clean so I like that. Parking: Plenty of street parking. They don't have a parking lot that I have seen. With all that said I know what I am eating this weekend.

Great Mexican food truck outside of Costco! I honestly came to this truck because there was no line. There are a few competing trucks next to this one. Placed my order for 6 tacos - got two carne asada, two chicken and two el pastor. The guy was working by himself and was hustling to make the tacos and had no help. Felt bad because there was another lady waiting. Brought them home for me and the hubby. They were delicious and would come back to try more things!

Looking for a place to get something to eat while waiting for my car serviced at Subaru. As I was walking I stumbled upon this food truck and decided to try it. I ordered two carne asada tacos and I wasn't disappointed. The green salsa was good too! It's 3 dollars a taco which I guess is a lot for a food truck but the size is big which I think is fair and good service too.

    Carne asada fries and horchata

I ordered here for the first time and got the carne asada fries and an horchata. The horchata was really good and the carne asada fries had really good flavor. My only critique would be for the fries to be a little crispier. But overall I think the portion you get is great for the price, and the lady that took my order was very sweet.

First time trying this taqueria. Small place, with cute decor, clean environment and friendly staff. The tacos were very tasty. I recommend the fish, shrimp and al pastor tacos. I will return for more.

We ordered #14 tostaditas w/ asada, #6 tacos doritos w/ birria, and asada quesadilla. We absolutely loved how crispy the tostadas and tacos doritos were. The meat was tasty and tender! Unfortunately.....ended up disappointing…read more Here is why: I've been to quite a few tacos spots. I've been trying to try this one because I saw the hype on social media (maybe I was expecting them to live.up to that hype) Tacos - 2 stars: there was flavor in the asada and al pastor but the tortillas were small and kinda of hard. They may have left them on the grill too long. Im used to the nice soft delicious tortillas. Guacamole was ok Prices - 2 stars: spent $41 for 8 tacos and 2 senorials. They are over priced and portions are very small. I could have gotten more for my buck somewhere else for example: tacos el venado on sepulveda. They are really good. Angels tacos on sherman way (they have home made tortillas and their tacos are twice as big Over all, disappointing. Would I come back again? Not even if I was starving. But try then for yourself, you may have a different opinion. I have certainly have had better.

Tired their Mega breakfast burrito and it did not live up to my expectations based on reviews here…read more I had high hopes and this burrito was just meh. Not bad, but not delicious. Pros: great service and friendly staff! They do not skimp on the meat and food is hot and fresh in minutes! Cons:The "golden potatoes" were a non-factor in the burrito. All the flavors and textures mushed together for a consistent average creation. The salsas were also lackluster. Neither had any kick, green was watery and the red remained me more of pace in a bottle than freshly made salsa. I want to support local spots so I might give them another chance and ask for crispier potatoes and crosstown fingers the salsas are better the next time.

I recently tried out El Cocinero's food at an event that they catered to. As a person who eats meat and is not restricted, I would come here for the good food. The vegan al pastor had chunks of pineapple and it is seasoned and cooked to taste just like the meat version. The texture is just a little bit different but it does resemble a lot like meat. The vegan pastor also tastes just like the meat version, just less "smoky" and the texture is softer. The rice is flavorful and fluffy. The beans are seasoned just enough to have flavor but not compete with the other dishes. The creamy chipotle sauce was perfect topping the rice and beans. I do like vegan food but the only reference I had with Mexican vegan are places that try to add fake cheese and lean heavily on beans and rice. This business shows that you can still have all the flavors and not rely on cheese and meat. They focus on the flavors and not what would make non-vegans feel comfortable. Initially, I was going to give this first time experience a 4 star review so that it encourages me to go check out the restaurant so I can add the service and the ambiance. However, I was lucky enough to bring home leftovers and as I was eating it, the food tastes better. Had to add the extra star!
