Found this spot off Yelp and saw it's great reviews. I was specifically looking for taco Tuesday deals. They had taco Tuesday's for $1.75 After working a 12hr day i was exhausted & spaced out. I ordered 8 tacos (4 asada 4 al pastor) The guy told me $20 so i gave him $20 + $1 tip and didn't think twice. They were nice but by the time i drove past universal studios otw home to DTLA i realized that they overcharged me. $2.50 per taco and not the taco Tuesday price. My fault for not being fully aware at the time but also it's bad business if you're trying to take advantage of your customers. It is what it is but damn, i could've went to my regular spot trusted spot closer to home if that was the case. read more

This food truck is close by where I live, I pass it nearly everyday and up until I saw a video on Instagram did I finally decide to check it out. So the name Tacos Tacuba is what I can only assume an homage to a classic Mexican rock group named 'Café Tacvba' The food itself wasn't bad, I'd say it's average for what it is. There is a steady amount of people I see every time I pass by, I stuck with a simple mulita on this visit because that's what I saw on IG that made me finally decide to make the jump on the food truck, although it didn't come out like what I saw on IG, it was still pretty good, I do plan on going back to try the other items on their menu read more

TLDR; great food, cheap, easy parking, and open late! This truck is regularly stationed in front of the Jons (or at least every time I've worked out) and is open late. Finally tried it tonight and I am so glad I did. Everything pictured was $16. In this economy? A steal! I ordered a shrimp taco and Tacuba plate. The asada was flavorful, the beans and rice are classic, and I really loved my shrimp taco. Excited to try more menu items. It's quality you can taste- even the lettuce is crisp and refreshing. They gave me all the salsas and toppings (for free)- if you can't handle heat, go for the creamy avocado salsa. I couldn't eat the whole thing but so excited for my leftovers. Service was great and quick! You can only tip with cash which made me sad because it really was so good and all I had was card. It's clean and the vibe is nice with the other trucks around it. Short walking distance from my house. They're open pretty late which is great if you're like me and often get those late-night cravings. Pretty sure I've tried nearly everything on their menu, but my go-to's are their carne asada burritos and quesadillas. My partner LOVES their carne asada fries. She'll drive across the city just to have them. Always great customer service and friendly staff. There are a few other food trucks nearby so you can sometimes expect there to be a few people out and about but it's always been a great atmosphere. Got food here tonight with a friend. We got three tacos (carne asada, chicken, and shrimp) and a tacuba plate with shrimp. Everything totaled to $20. (NOTE: they only take cash.) I thought the plate was so good. Along with the shrimp it had rice, pinto beans, and a side salad with tomatoes, lettuce, and avocado. Nice portions, flavorful rice, and nicely seasoned shrimp. She liked the tacos, and said the clear winner was also the shrimp, then the carne asada, and then the chicken. The person helping me also gave me a bag with limes, onions, radishes and lots of salsas (I think salsa taquera, salsa verde, and salsa de aguacate). I loved the salsas (they're nice and spicy) but it was too much for my friend. I dumped everything on top of the plate. I should've taken a picture (it was so colorful) but I quickly ate everything.
