I had a really disappointing experience at Pablito's in Van Nuys. I placed and paid for a burrito order, but unfortunately wasn't able to pick it up that same night. I returned the next morning simply asking for a reasonable solution--either a fresh remake (since it's food) or a refund. Instead of helping, the employee was extremely rude and dismissive, and refused to offer either option. I wasn't asking for anything extra--just what I already paid for or my money back. It's frustrating to be treated this way as a paying customer. Situations happen, and good customer service is about how you handle them. This could have been resolved easily, but instead it turned into a negative experience. I would recommend management take a closer look at how situations like this are handled, because this was unprofessional and unacceptable. There's nowhere on their website that states a policy for not being able to pick up the order. read more

Been awhile since I got to have me some Pablitos. My wife and I ordered the three taco plate. I got the lomo saltado, Al pastor, and carne asada tacos. She got the Chicharron, al pastor, and fish. She really loved the Chicharron taco, but enjoyed the other two also. I thought the al pastor was the best, but also liked the other two tacos. Beans were okay, not totally authentic, but close. The rice was an absolute miss. Under cooked and under seasoned. Not sure what they were going for honestly. Service was good, took a long time for the food. We were the only ones there too. Place has a Cuban vibe with the mural designs and the music. Still a fan, gotta try something else next time. Also, wish I had a Pablitos closer to Ventura County. read more

Pablitos was one of my favorite restaurants to go to. Lately I had been going a lot more because my car broke down and it's walking distance. I've noticed on many occasions that the cashier smells like weed. I assumed the business allows it, so I brushed it off. Until one about less than a month ago, went to get my favorite birria tacos I walked in and and no cashier to be found. So I walked over to the boba place and as I passed the trash bins I seen Pablitos cashier huddled over the garbage bin smoking. I can say that at first I was able to look past it. He handles my food and serves me with no gloves so knowing that just really grosses me out and that was the final straw. I no longer recommend this place to anyone. He is nice and helpful but considering the facts it's a hard no for me. read more

Unfortunately, this location is not at all as good as the others. I think it's really due to service. The staff here had no idea what they were doing, every order was brought out incorrectly, and made horribly. The queso, taco barely had any cheese, The veggie taco with cactus and mushrooms was just pathetic. Their salsa is still delicious, but the portions are much smaller and you could tell the kitchen does not know what they're doing. Run don't walk! Pablito's opened this location earlier this year and it is freaking awesome. The staff (shout out to Fernando) is always super friendly and welcoming. I knew I wanted to try the rotisserie chicken, and he told me that it's *that* chicken they also use in all of their tacos, sandwiches, and burritos. Which is pretty awesome. Before today I had always just ordered shrimp tacos and my favorite sweet plantains, but decided to branch out and try something new. It turns out everything they make here is fire. The chicken is juicy and flavorful, the rice is cooked perfectly and tastes like mom made it, and the SAUCES are insanely good. Seriously they should make a separate sauce business. Get.the.sauces. One of them is called green crack and it's for a good reason. Dip everything. Go crazy. Now I'm going to stop writing and keep eating. Love you Pablitos!! 10/10 read more

She forgot 6 tacos from the order and then counted the wrong number of salsas for the amount we got. Should've walked out when we saw the establishment was empty. Burrito almost $20 and was falling apart. We ordered tacos too and they look like they were thrown in there. The burrito was made very badly and their meat in the burritos and tacos hardly any taste. Very bland. For Peruvian fusion there was no Peruvian quality. I've tried authentic Peruvian food and this place is not it! I don't know if I just went in on a bad day, but I will not be going back. They also forgot the dessert we had ordered. The most delicious chaufas!!! Definitely shareable portion. We also got asada tacos. They were some of the most tender tacos I've had. Tortilla tasted like they were freshly made. Love the variety. Their green crack sauce is bomb. The picarones were so good! Haven't had them since last time I was in Peru. I will say that their lomo saltado burrito lacked flavor at this location. I usually go to the Burbank one and it's sooo flavorful. This one wasn't as good. The birria grilled cheese was bomb. I was so excited to try their aji de gallina fries cus it sounded delicious. But it was a plate? Like a regular aji de gallina plate served with rice. So it was super misleading cus i expected loaded fries... which would've been so much better. We're definitely gonna come back soon and try the chicken and the tallarines verdes lomo saltado combo plate, I just hope the lomo is more flavorful next time. Pastor w/ Pineapple (they were nicely cooked and I love a pop of pineapple) 2. Chicharron (The crispy parts were perfect, but there were a couple of dry pieces) 3. Veggie (Nopales & Mushrooms) (Not what I would normally get, but deliciously seasoned and a great option) 4. Birria (Would have been 3rd, but the veggie one was really good) 5. Pollo (Usually the option I avoid unless it's a tinga or something, because it always feels too bland to me) The tacos came with the "crack sauce" (which was flavorful, but I wish it had some spice) and the Aji Anticuchero (which again, delicious, but I was hoping for more of a kick). Probably would have given them a 5/5, but they forgot the guacamole on the tacos and we had to wait a bit (it was an online order that said to come in at a specific time, and then they still weren't ready for about 15/20 minutes. I just went to Pablito's tacos on my lunch break after trying to decide where to go and I couldn't be happier with my decision of choosing this restaurant. There's plenty of parking and the inside of the restaurant has very cool art on the walls and catchy music. I found myself dancing while washing my hands in the bathroom. I was helped by a charismatic, kind lady named Estrella. She took my order and brought me my food and it all took only about 10 minutes. The food was fantastic. I will definitely be back. The bathrooms were clean and the staff was friendly as well. It really checked all of the boxes for me. Unfortunately, there were two men that came in while I was eating who were rather rude and I witnessed Estrella handle the situation perfectly.
