This was our first time coming since they changed owners from Casa Santiago. We did our best to come with an open mind so that we wouldn't be biased. The decor and renovation they did was very nice! Everything looks super clean and modern, very bright and inviting. The only thing is that the tables are so close together that if it was super busy it might be a tad cumbersome to get through. However, all the servers were friendly and helpful. We ordered a cafe con leche, which was just the right amount of sweet. I got the Dominican breakfast and my husband did the lechón sandwich. The sandwich was juicy and was well flavored. It tasted like it had mojo seasoning. The Dominican breakfast was also good, my only complaint about it is the sauce that they put on top of the mangu was very overpowering. It tasted very lemony and Mojo flavored. I would have enjoyed it more if the sauce had been served on the side, which I will keep in mind for the future.

They just opened last week at this location. Cute little spot. They serve a full menu but we only tried a few pastelitos and the Dubai chocolate strawberries. Everything was very good! Check them out for breakfast too.

So happy with the change and new food menu. Everything was delicious!

On multiple occasions I have tried to call the restaurant to place an order and no one picks up.

Had a fantastic experience at El Sitio today. The food was so good. The fried pork ceviche was delicious. It was the highlight of the meal.

1 star La Perrada…read moredel Gordo - Worst service I've ever experienced My husband and I visited La Perrada del Gordo on July 11, 2025, with two family members. We ordered a Hawaiian hot dog, a Choriperro, two appetizers, and drinks, spending about $50. First, our server brought just one hot dog out of the four meals. It looked like a Hawaiian hot dog--pineapple, pink sauce, chips on top--so I assumed it was mine and ate it. However, when the rest of the food arrived over 20 minutes later, my husband realized he'd been given a Hawaiian hot dog instead of the Choriperro he ordered. We told the waitress, who took the plate back, but the manager came over and insisted that what I'd eaten was a Choriperro, not a Hawaiian hot dog. Despite me explaining that I'd already eaten the Hawaiian hot dog, she argued and refused to replace my husband's order with what he originally wanted. Instead of resolving the issue professionally, the manager returned to our table carrying a tray with an uncooked regular hot dog and a Choriperro to "teach" us the difference, as though we were clueless. It was humiliating and unnecessary. Yes, I mistakenly ate the wrong hot dog because it was covered in so many condiments that I didn't realize it was the Choriperro--but that's precisely why the staff should have helped fix the mix-up rather than argue and try to "educate" me. Rather than provide good customer service, the manager chose to belittle and embarrass us in front of the restaurant. My husband ended up eating a hot dog he didn't want or enjoy, and we left feeling humiliated and angry. I would never return to La Perrada del Gordo and absolutely do not recommend it to anyone. A simple mistake could have been handled kindly and professionally, but instead, the staff made it the worst dining experience I've ever had.

The service was fast and friendly, and even though the restaurant was fairly busy, our party of six was seated and rapidly attended on. I ordered the bandeja paisa, and it was an excellent choice. The portion was enormous far more food than I could finish in one sitting, and everything was satisfying and flavorful. One dish I would not recommend is the steak al caballo. It arrived covered in a tomato-based sauce that tasted very similar to ketchup, which wasn't what I expected and detracted from the dish. Overall, this is a solid choice for large groups, soccer fans looking to catch a game, and anyone craving hearty Colombian food. I'd definitely return for the atmosphere, service, and generous portions. .

However, I know from traveling that some of the best spots are ones that appear to be a hole in the wall. I walked in, very cute inside! Staff was welcoming and I cozied right up at the bar to wait for my friend. I was immediately brought chips and salsa and a cold beer. We ended up sitting at a high top and our waitress suggested that I try either carne asada from the Mexican menu or Vaca Frita from the Cuban menu. I love me some carne asada but I was intrigued but this 'fried shredded beef' that was marinated in mole and cooked in a hot skillet until crispy. She suggested sweet plantains to go with it and white rice with beans which is traditional Cuban (instead of yellow rice). IT WAS FABULOUS! It was crispy on the outside and juicy. The mole was flavorful but not spicy and i appreciated that the meat was not dripping in sauce. My dinner date ordered chicken tamales which were seasoned in a Cuban style with yellow rice. She is used to Mexican tamales but said these really hit the spot! The only blemish on the nice was her second margarita which was the cucumber one which she didn't like at all. However, the first one she ordered (pictured) which was a different flavor was a show stopper.
