The staff is amazing, very nice very personable and great service. However, nobody wants microwaved food. Please work on getting a Panini press or a flat top grill for your sandwiches. I visited for lunch wanting to get the $7.99 cuban sandwich and fries lunch special advertised on their website. Frustratingly, they said they don't offer that, and it would be $12 before tax & tip. The employees were nice, but translated into me spending more money due to not knowing their specials. The food came pretty quick and the sandwich was pretty damn good. It's one of those pressed sandwiches and had a couple meats and some melted cheese in it. The full size and fries was way too much for me to eat and I was getting sleepy in the afternoon. If gonna get the sandwich, would anticipate having some leftovers. The sandwich is too pricey for me regularly, but I may consider getting it for a special occassion. The fries tasted good, were nicely fried, and come in a small cup. I basically got mine to go, but they have an outdoor and indoor seating area. This little hole in the wall was so good that I could see myself eating here all the time, with one small exception. The music playing is infinitely too loud....so loud there is no reasonable way to eat outside and the music still permeates inside to the restaurant, but at least inside it's not ear shattering. Inside are a few small tables and a counter filled with yummy things to eat. The menu is very nice, the choices abundant and the prices reasonable. Our server Sandra was a lovely, charming young lady. My arroz con pollo was superb and the croquettes were moist and tasty. The chicken soup was also delicious, but the cup was way to small and that would probably be something I'd pass on next time, only because of the size. Capri has lovely sandwiches and coffee, I have to say--it always has! Until last month, I hadn't visited Capri for several years and wasn't sure whether it had remained his quality over the years. But in terms of the food, the cuban chicken sandwich, cafe con leche and cortado especially, I was not disappointed. The chicken had been pounded to make it nice and flat and had a lovely flavor. The bread and accompanying peppers and onions made for a nice touch and overall delicious taste. I enjoyed my sandwich and coffee so much, that I went back later that day to grab another for my flight home! I would recommend these two items but also, if history serves, that many other food items on the menu, including the ropa vieja, are worth having on your visit. While I do give the food 5 stars, I am not able to give the same of the service. Eventhough I had called my order in and gave a good 20 minute notice, I was still waiting at the counter upon arrival. The staff was friendly, and clearly well meaning, but they were also quite slow, not the best when you have a flight to catch! While the interior of the restaurante has always been pleasant--giving you a kind of at home in a warm kitchen with your grandmother kind of feel, I was a bit disappointed in the music which played only american tunes including "Brown Eyed Girl" which seemed to be on a loop! This is a cuban cafe and a good one at that--celebrate your heritage & play music that resembles your native land, and that allows us to travel to a different place and culture when we enter! (IThat's my humble advice). I was sad and deeply troubled that the street where Capri resides had been changed to the name of a corrupt criminal, convicted felon president but definitely don't let that stop you from coming here and enjoying a good meal. read more

I came in on a Thursday around 1pm. There's plenty of outdoor and indoor seating in this small establishment. I had a very hard time ordering the food with no English speaking staff but they were very friendly and welcoming regardless! I ordered the Capri Cuban with fries. I don't think it was understood that I wanted the fries to be cooked well-done however they still showed up with the perfect crisp! The Cuban had a heavy helping of ham and one slice of roast beef (?) which left me absolutely stuffed for $12. I had a hard time asking what the price point was for the pastries but ended up getting an apple turnover ($1.75), a guava butter cookie ($?), and a churro (2 for $3 that they gave me for free!). My total came out to around $22. While I appreciated them getting me a warmed churro, it was warmed on the outside but still frozen/cold on the inside. The two stars are solely for the AMAZING media noche sandwich. So so good. However. It smells like propane gas at the front door. Service was very poor. I said I needed a minute to decide on a drink, and they never came back. We were sitting outside and a bootleg speaker is propped up playing music, and somewhere in the middle of my sandwich, they turned it up several notches, blaring the music to the point where we couldn't converse over the patio table. Others on the patio went in to ask them to turn it down and they did not. I went in and asked them to lower the volume and they said, sorry, we can't. This is Sunday at 2:40 in the afternoon. Club level music on a sunny day at a cafe. So, get the food to go, or go to one of the other amazing Cuban spots in the area where you can probably get a beverage and save your ears. Update: went to pay inside and decided I really did want guarapo, and they started making it and then paused to take someone's table order. What on earth. Multitasking too much and letting customer service fall by the wayside? Yeah go elsewhere. Guarapo was delish btw. Place was awesome. We walked from our hotel to grab some brunch. This was the closest place some we stopped in. The staff didn't speak English but they tried very hard and were super patient while we fumbled our way through an order. This is small but busy eatery. You might miss it because it's small but if you do it's kinda your fault! Take a look at the exterior photos and you'll know what I mean! Aside from the inside being tiny, so is the parking lot! I had a late breakfast so I lucked out. I was surprised by how little it is inside but the food is packed with flavor! There are only a handful of seats at the counter and you can probably always count on good service- you can just tell. I couldn't really read the menu too much but ordered what I knew which was a Cuban coffee and a dish with white rice, fried eggs and sweet plantains. I love plantains and try to get some while in the area. The rice was crazy good! My white rice doesn't have anything on theirs, nor does Uncle Ben! It tasted creamy but had the texture of rice. I don't know if the creaminess is from butter or dairy so if anyone knows please educate me. If anything, stop by for a drink to go. Very quaint little restaurant off the side off southern Blvd, few blocks away from I95. Parking is little tight but manageable- in the morning you will probably walk past tables filled with older gentleman huffing under their breath while they play dominoes and such. I love that feel :) Haven't been here since I was a little girl, dad knows when I'm around this part of town I stop by the familia to grab my cuban sandwich (bodega store literally right next door). Capris has the homey feeling of walking into grandma house in the early afternoon, with colorful pictures and flowers. It gives you the vibe of being welcomed. The restaurant has high top wrap around bar setting and little tables in which you can choose to grab your food. The counter has a variety of pastries and quick ready to take homes too. I am assuming you can call ahead to pick up and go too. I saw at least 3 people walk in come to the counter and leave quickly! Dad and I split a regular Cuban sandwich- mozzarella cheese, ham, and pork roast, with pickles mustard and mayonnaise (well pressed or all the way) I make no changes to the delicious traditional sandwich. I also ordered a mamey shake which a a fruit blend with milk, it was perfect ;one of my favorite drinks I catch when I am having a light lunch. Since we were extra enthused on grabbing a quick bite we also ordered tostada, (Cuban bread pressed with butter) and a chicharon ( friend pork chunks). I paid $11.56 for everything and that is I shared with my dad :) great lunch opportunity, will invest in having a bite here with friends whenever they ask what's good if they want something light , fresh and original! read more

Best cafe con leche (y azucar) I have ever had. It was freshly ground right in front of me. The milk was freshly steamed to prevent it from cooling the coffee and there was just the right amount of sugar. The service was prompt and friendly. The venue was unique and they had a group of people playing dominos outside on the patio, which was cool to see. I highly recommend giving this place a shot specifically for the coffee. read more

The restaurant itself is a bit kitschy, but funky enough to be cool. Also not too dirty but not clean clean ya know? Service was alright. They were nice when they were paying attention. My cubano wasn't bad, it's definitely enough to take home later too unless you're mad hungry. I didn't care for the green bananas, no flavor. My buddy had the chicken beans and rice and said it was just okay. We sat at the bar and ordered cafe con leche which was my favorite I've had in south Florida! They have a walk up for to go and outside sitting. The maduros (sweet plantains) are delicious & the assortment of pastries in the display cases at the counter are a sight to see. There's even a high top counter with bar stools for you to sit and commiserate with the staff, a friend, or a complete stranger. Either way, this small cafe delivers the goods. Maybe it was the political farce of a banner out front that caused me to lose my appetite or maybe I should have known Cuban tuna salad was nothing like what I expected. There were a few bites of cubed meat that must have been the tuna but I would have hoped for something more filling and tasty. Just be forewarned. My husbands fish platter was slightly better than mine and the waitress was super sweet. Not her fault the food I ordered was disappointing, but my terrible Spanish was better than her limited English, so if she was trying to warn me I missed it. At least they let us bring our dog to the outside patio area. I am sad that a restaurant clearly run by authentic Cuban people would choose to buy in to the "Patriot" narrative and bash Biden when, although he's not great, the criminals and treasonous degenerates who tried to overthrow our democratic election are much, much worse -- for immigrants especially. Three stars instead of zero are for the nice waitress, dog friendly patio and because I want to support our immigrant families. Hopefully they and the rest of Florida soon figure out that the Patriot/Liberty scam is put on by the Fascist wannabes and by hanging such a banner, they're not siding against Fascism, but with it.
