We were in town for business and being a small town, there didn't seem like much to choose from. Based on the outdoor facade, we chose to try El Sambrano and boy were we sorry. The ambiance sucks. There's no bar. And the booths were horribly uncomfortable. To start, I asked for (without reading the menu of knowing there was no bar) a Cadillac margarita. I was looked at like I was crazy. They have margaritas on draft I guess - frozen or on the rocks. Drinks were weak, beer was cold. We got a few plates to try: bean and cheese nachos, steak Chimichanga, and tacos. The food was HORRID. The salsa tasted like watered down tomato paste and had no flavor. We left ASAP and went to the Mexican place one block away - Tequila Jalisco - this place is not on Yelp! but the food was really good. And...wait for it... they have Cadillac margaritas. read more

Taste like generic a Mexican restaurant in the Midwest. Stopped by during lunch time, the place wasn't busy. I ordered shrimp quesadilla ( quesadillas Jalisco) on the menu should included guacamole. However my plate didn't come with it. The server didn't stop by our table and check on us so I didn't have a chance to ask about my guacamole. I asked the lady upfront when I pay for my food, she said you have to tell the server that you want the guacamole. WHY I HAVE TO ASK THE SERVER FOR SOME INGREDIENT THAT WAS WRITTEN ON THE MENU??? They were talking like it was my fault that I didn't ask for something that is supposed to come with something I ordered (sigh). read more

This is my first time here and I am happy to report this is a good place to eat! We arrived at about 2:30 pm and were still able to order off the lunch menu. I ordered the lunch fajitas! In my opinion, if you can't cook fajitas properly at a Mexican restaurant, then you shouldn't be open! This place KNOWS how to cook fajitas! They seasoned the meat correctly and did not over cook the meat! Very good! Only downside, they had already mixed the tomatoes, onions & bell peppers together. My wife is allergic to bell peppers. They said they could pull them out, but they had already touched each other... So we couldn't share or let her taste. If these were separate and mixed when ordered, it'd be perfect! Salsa was very good.... Especially if you like it Hot! Could be milder for those that can't take the heat. Would recommend coming here! read more

Our experience was very harassing and uncomfortable. Our waiter was constantly looking down my girlfriend's shirt and would go out of his way to look at her in a very perverted way. One instance he walked by our table with two drinks we didn't order, walked around the table looked at her, and then walked out of the room to the actual table the drinks belonged to. Great and speedy while we were traveling through! The restaurant is very spacious and accommodated a very large group easily. The restrooms were very clean l, as was the entire building and sidewalk in front. We were traveling through and in a hurry, and this was the perfect place to accommodate that. We had our drinks within a few minutes of being seated and our food was delivered to the table within 15 minutes or less. Excellent and respectful staff! The restaurant was very clean. The food was pretty bland, no spice, not much flavor. I went with a chili rellano and a chicken chimichanga, both of which were cooked perfectly but their sauce and salsa left alot to be desired. If you are a person that thinks black pepper is too spicy this place is for you. They do have a few beers on tap at cheap prices. Happy hour specials from 3 to 5. I might come back to try that. The reviews for this restaurant were not that great, but my wife and I decided to give a try. It was 2pm on Saturday afternoon and the place was not busy at all. We were greeted by a nice employee. The same guy who seated us ended being our waiter and he took very good care of us, he was attentive to our needs, we never had to wait for drink refills, or chips and salsa refills. One of the reviews said that the chips had an "odd" taste. the chips we were served didn't have an odd taste and were actually really good. The salsa was really good and you could tell that it was freshly made. The food was excellent, it was hot and so good. I ordered a shrimp chimichanga and my wife had shrimp fajitas which were really good also, she gave me a taste :). Terrible. I was staying at hotel across the street and walked over and ordered a steak burrito with beans, cheese and sour cream only to go. I paid and left with my bag. I get to my room and open a round pizza container. Inside was a miniature burrito with only steak in it. It was sitting in a pool of beans and cheese. The sour cream was in a to go plastic cup and they didn't put a plastic ware in bag. They gave me chips and salsa that tasted like it was pace picante sauce from jar. Go elsewhere. read more
