Servers were nice and we were seated quickly. The food came out quick and had a delicious display. We had ordered birria and unfortunately, it was lacking flavor. After a while it felt like we were chewing on a piece of paper. We had no napkins, the table was sticky, there was a short black hair in the beans, there was a mysterious white chunk in my cup of water. Nice atmosphere with a good menu. We went there on a Sunday because I really wanted some chorizo. Most recently: Had dinner early in the evening on a weeknight so it wasn't very busy. As some in here have noted, service is sketchy. It seems that our waiter had some issues being able to get my wife a sprite. First glass was all carbonated water. Second glass was just water. Third time back he informed us they were out of sprite. We ordered tacos, enchiladas and a chimichanga. It did seem to take awhile for there not being that many customers. It didn't really bother us because we enjoyed the time with our son without kids. Once we got the food it was pretty good. This only issue, and it happens at most of the Mexican restaurants in our area, they love to smother dishes with cheese. I will also say when my son ordered his chicken taco dinner, our waiter asked him if he wanted refried beans. Turns out that it was a side and cost extra. So, take your chances. Food is good. We were visiting family in St Robert's and chose to eat at Agave Azteca Friday night. The food taste wonderful! BUT we took ouour leftovers back to ouour Hotel. I ate some about an hour later and found a long black hair IN MY MOUTH! My husband is bald and I'm short blonde. I've been on the pot for 2 solid days with nasty stomach cramps too. I'm so disappointed, we thought we found a great spot for when we visit St Robert's. read more

Agave Azteca is bringing the spice & flavor to fort Leonard wood Stationed here and was getting tired of eating at the DFAC decided to switch it up and try this gem of restaurant I pass everyday, and let's just say I'm very impressed! You walk in it just has this family type of vibe, with the smells of the finest Mexican cuisine! The food is very delicious, rice is cooked perfectly and food came out extremely quick. Just popped in here to watch some basketball and get a quick bite to eat and a drink. Waiter behind the bar was really tentative and fast. No issues at all with the wait staff they were great. They recommend the steak for the quesadilla, which was great. Was very tasty and for the price was great. Tilapia and shrimp wasn't terrible. The steamed veggies were mush. My hispanic husband said the carnitas tasted like roast beef instead of true carnitas. Great service! We sat at the bar , Celebrating a birthday and it was amazing! The beers are cold, salsa is freshly made!! You can actually taste cilantro, lime and the onions with the heat on the salsa! The ceviche is sweet, sour, and spicy! Got that mango and jalapeño that complements each other! Generally I always eat the same thing every time I go to any place but the last time I went to Agave my server recommended the Tacos Tolucas and I was not disappointed! They were delicious!! Kind of wish I had checked out the reviews before coming here. The house salsa tastes like marinara with a pinch of cilantro added. A big portion of the negative reviews (in Spanish and English) seem to be due to bland flavor and slow service. They're right about the salsa--after a few chips I could not eat anymore. I asked for some spicy salsa, and after a while they brought a habanero-based salsa that was spicy, but that's about it--no real depth of flavor. I ordered the Chicken & Rice, (Arroz con Pollo) a simple, staple dish at any Mexican restaurant. Surprisingly, my Chicken & Rice turned out really well, and bumped the review from 2 stars up to 3. The chicken was tender and tasty, and the rice was not overcooked, as the other reviews had mentioned. Maybe I got lucky, but I'll take it. Food- came in here not expecting much because we just got here from california. But man was I wrong the chips and salsa were fresh would've liked more cilantro in the salsa. But most midwests peoples taste suck and they wouldn't be able to handle too much flavor. Got the birria tacos and they were so great the fat was completely rendered into the consume. Definitely one of the best top consumes I have had. Service- it was amazing was served hot chips and salsa immediately and food came out super quick. Our server spoke both Spanish and English. It was a great experience he really stayed on top of our needs. Environment- the restaurant was clean as far as I could see normal noise level of people talking.
