    Vegetable Fajitas

Really enjoyed our dinner here last night! I was surprised at all the vegetarian options they had including vegetable fajitas! My husband got a beef burrito and said it was delicious. Our waiter was so sweet too, I would highly recommend going here in the future!

An inch of mold on my salsa!!! Yuck. Why is salsa prescooped and not labeled!

I got a to-go like I do every week. Got back to my office and opened my salsa to an inch of mold. So, now I am grossed out and I don't want to eat a thing. I took the food back for a refund. I only received an oh, ohh, sorry! Missed my lunch, wasted my time and gas. And you don't even comp a meal!!! My entire workplace is giving this spot a no now!

Maybe not the best sign of authentic Mexican food to come

Not sure about the reviews claiming that this place is authentic it it's good for what it is: Nashville Mexican food. I had the burrito California. I have no clue what makes it California. It wasn't the queso covering it or the lettuce inside. The salsa they serve with the chips was likely a close relative of the bottle of ketchup also found on the table but if you ask for the hot salsa you're in for a very spicy treat. It was really good and I couldn't get enough despite the burn. I would go back if the desire for a queso covered burrito hit while I was in the area but it won't be a destination.

Met my friend Anna here for lunch one weekday, and we basically had the place to ourselves. I like it when the food is good, the servers are attentive but don't bug you, and you can actually have a conversation and hear each other. All three were the case here. We had the chunky guacamole appetizer - yum. It's super chunky, not like a typical smashed up guacamole at all. Because of my spice-wimp factor, the japs were on the side, which even super spicy fan Anna was happy about because they are in season and were super hot. I had a California Burrito - really good. Covered the oversize plate hugeness draped in yummy queso... what more could anyone ask for? Nice chicken to other goodies ratio, and I think I even detected some celery in there... that was a first. (And yes, I ate it all. The diet can start tomorrow!) The restaurant is quite clean, furnishings and decor are typical Mexican place, but again on the cleaner side. Wouldn't hesitate at all to visit here again when in the area.

I really like El Sombrero. Have been here many times. Will be back infinity times Very clean. Very friendly. Should be much busier than it is. Good guacamole and the veggie chimichanga is my favorite.

Lunch special steak fajitas for $7.99 - best part of my day! Do it!

My wife ordered the Grilled Shrimp Platter which was incredible infusion of different cut vegetables and the sauce served was outstanding! Rice and beans were fantastic. We had two watermelon a mango and a mezcal margarita. They were great. The waiter recommended the watermelon as a favorite and he was absolutely right. The mezcal margarita eas mine and it was deliciously smoky. For the meals this is where i knock a star off because overall the tacos were good but I wouldn't say it was overwhelmingly great. My fiancee and dad got the birria tacos they did a pretty good job. I got the skirt steak i believe and it was ok. Tender but not too flavorful. Tasted more just like beef. I believe its marinated but i didnt really get hints of any spices. Again, I'm not saying it was terrible by any means. Just left something to be desired. We also ordered the wueso flameado and that was pretty good. Overall a good place to eat. Would recommend checking it out.

The setup inside is adorable and had a cozy, relaxed vibe from the moment we walked in. Our server, Tom, was absolutely wonderful. He even asked if we had any allergies when ordering, which we really appreciated even though we didn't have any. It honestly showed how much they care about their customers. I don't think I've ever had a restaurant ask that before! He was also super attentive and kept our waters refilled so quickly throughout the meal. One thing we really liked was the atmosphere. We loved all the fun live music spots around Nashville too, but this was a nice change of pace if you're looking for more of a chill, relaxed vibe where you can easily enjoy conversation during dinner. We both ordered the asada tacos and they were SO delicious, exactly what we needed. The rice on the side tasted incredibly fresh too, and the tomato and corn mixed into it were the perfect addition. You could tell everything was made with care. The staff was constantly cleaning tables quickly after guests left, and overall the service was just amazing from start to finish. We had such a wonderful experience and will definitely be coming back next time we're in Nashville!

Asada Tacos: Honestly, pretty bland. The meat was cooked well but it lacked any real flavor. Salmon: Nothing special. Didn't feel like high-grade fish. Pork Belly Tacos (The GOAT): Absolute life-changing Pork Belly. As someone who's eaten a lot of pork belly, this was easily the best I've ever had. I'd come back just for this. The Portion: Tacos come with rice and beans so the portions are very generous. You won't leave hungry. 4/5 stars. The only reason for the 4-star rating is that incredible Pork Belly. It carried the whole meal. Highly recommend for that dish alone!

I loved building my own tacos with all the fun toppings. They even brought us more shells when we still had meat & toppings leftover. And more chips when we still had guac in the pestal & mortar (which was super cute). I loved the vibe of the place - chic but not so chic I felt out of place (because no one would call me chic for good reason). I loved the glow of the pink neon - created a fun vibe.
