We have been here twice. Service is 5/5 very fast,efficient,and friendly. Food is very very good (jalapeños have some heat 10/10) inside is always very clean. We have been here late at night and right when they open and it's always spotless and welcoming. ($15 for 2 burritos is amazing but of this quality is what has made us a regular here) also for fellow night owls they are open till 3am. The sides that come with the burritos are radishes,charred jalapeños, and delicious onions that elevate this meal. Just tried this place, and wow! I had the Alambre Mexicano,and it was the bomb! This is the best Mexican food I've had in the Nashville area, and I eat lunch out 5 days a week in the area. Looks a little dumpy on the outside, but don't let that fool you. It's spotless inside, and really great food! read more

Tacos Y Mariscos is a humble establishment located in a part of Nashville, Tennessee rarely seen by tourists. More than humble, the ambiance is pretty much nonexistent. Cheap chairs, cheap tables in a room that has been worn with time and neglect is theme and the barred windows offer a hint that this is probably not the safest of neighborhoods. So, this is the kind of place one would go to seek out tacos and Mexican and South American culinary gems. After perusing the menu I opted to go with the half chicken dinner and almost as an afterthought (or finally accepting that i needed a taco), I also ordered a spicy pork taco. The taco was good, but the real winner was the chicken dinner, especially considering it was about nine dollars. The chicken was well prepared, juicy and with a nice crust on the skin and came with shredded lettuce, radishes, pico de gallo, rice, refried beans, corn tortillas and a serrano pepper. I have often heard (and seen on a few T-shirts that the best taco shops are in some sketchy neighborhoods. This was a perfect example of such a place. read more

I usually don't order delivery but when working late, it became a necessity. Wanted some mariscos so tried the fish ceviche tostada and the seafood mix soup. Not the most common choices but I was interested in their mariscos, especially as an Arizona native and previous California resident. I shouldn't have been surprised that both dishes were excellent, and traveled well during delivery, probably because they packed everything nicely! The ceviche was packed separately from the tostada and came with plenty of lime and freshly sliced avocado. The ceviche was flavorful (with the help of the lime) and tasted fresh, and loved that the tostada was crispy. It was a good portion of fish too! Only thing I should have asked for was a teeny bit of hot sauce for an extra kick. The caldo (seafood soup) was also excellent - the broth was insanely flavorful and had a decent amount of spice. It even came with a plate filled with chopped onion, cilantro, lime, and a few pretty spicy dried chiles. Had some fish, 3-4 whole shrimp, and some pieces of imitation crab. Didn't love the imitation crab since the texture was off (hard to described but I guess overcooked and slippery?), but I also didn't hate it and ate it anyway. I was planning for leftovers but it was too tasty to stop eating - I only have a little bit of soup left for tomorrow! I've been living in Nashville nearly 11 years and I am dissapointed in myself for not visiting this spot until now. What a Mboro Rd gem! I needed something quick to eat and my friends that live nearby suggested that I stop here. $1.50 TACOS people!!! I grabbed 2 of the first things I saw listed (beef and spicy pork tacos) and was highly satisfied. They were VERY generous with the meat portions! The sauces they provided were bomb and I love that they threw sautéed onions in the middle. It's so much more on the menu I would like to try when I have time to dine in. My only regret was that I didn't get a side of rice. I'll definitely be back because it is not far off the interstate. read more

So I've been in this place several times since I found them years ago. This place is nothing fancy and frankly very rundown and quite scary (it seems like the have a bullet hole on the glass, I like to think was a rock) to be honest but definitely worth the eye sore. Their staff has been a hit or miss but even when it's a miss, it has been because they are busy. I usually get the tacos but I also get the burrito, tortas, gorditas, tostadas, en fin todo. So everything I've tasted is really good. My friends get the 1/2 chicken and they love it and come here for it. I have tried their chicken, barbacoa, steak, shrimp and fish and I'm not a fan of the steaks because it's a hit or miss but the rest are delicious and consistent. They may have a day or two where it's dry or bland but overall it's good. They have "aguas frescas" juice and they are also a hit or miss, but they pineapple it's pretty good mostly. They also have coke products and Mexican beers, water and coffee. They have bathrooms and I have never use them so I can say. Their parking is on their lot, but the in and out is a bit of a hazard because it's between the light and a U turn almost. It is on beautiful Murfreesboro road traffic so you definitely watch out. read more

The food was very good, service was friendly and understood me very well, price was a little high to me. I had a togo order, got three fish tacos (which they come in threes) and a shrimp and octopus cocktail in a container that was kinda on the small size with not a lot of product in it for the price, the total price for both as 24.50 which I had a 20 and a ten dollar bill so I just give the rest as a tip which was generous on my part but so it cost me $30 and when I got home and look at what I got it just wasn't worth 30 dollars. I would always hear that there is no authentic "Mexican food" in Nashville but honestly, these people have not looked or haven't been on Yelp because Nashville is filled with authentic Mexican (and different Hispanic foods). I come here specifically for the tacos and no one can change that! This was not as great as I expected, however part of that is because they mixed up my order and didn't give me what I requested. The restaurant is tiny but has lots of seating. I ordered three tacos- chicken, pork, and carnitas. Instead of chicken I received beef, which I ended up liking more than the pork or carnitas. The carnitas were, according to my husband, extremely authentic but they were too fatty and flavorless for my personal preference. I'm sure American-Mexican food has ruined my appreciation for true Mexican, though. The refried beans were absolutely delicious. I wish I'd have just gotten a few plates full of them! The issues with my order were most likely due to the language barrier between us and our server so I'm not basing my review solely on that. I came here for lunch with a large group of coworkers with a variety of backgrounds and tastes. Since I have been raving about this place for so long, I was a bit nervous that there could be a bit of narrow mindedness as most of them had never been to a authentic Mexican restaurant like this. I am happy to report that there was all around taco joy. I finally got to try the quarter chicken from someone else's plate....wow. It is so tasty! The chicken was juicy and tender, it fell off the bone! Another person had the fajitas and they were huge and smelled amazing. The rest of us had the tacos and raved throughout the meal. 2 people (who had never had authentic tacos) were so impressed they came back here for lunch the next day! I was super hungry and work nearby so thought I'd try this place out. The restaurant itself is very mediocre at best. Ordered some carne asada tacos and was hoping to get chips & salsa but they don't serve chips?! That's a first for me with any mexican food place I've been to but ok. Didn't know they were street tacos (tiny tacos) but no big deal, explains why they were only like 2 bucks each. Before I even started eating I picked out probably 9 or 10 pieces of just pure fat. Ate half a taco and tossed the rest because every bite was half fat / half steak. I'm from Southern California, and then lived in Arizona so I'm very familiar with all kinds of mexican/hispanic food and this is easily one of the worst spots I've got food from. Also still can't get over a place that doesn't serve chips and salsa, next you'll tell me they have no guacamole! However the employees talked about me the entire time I was there eating in Spanish as if I couldn't understand them. If you don't understand Spanish, stay away from this business! The employees will joke about screwing you over while you are there and then do it. If you've been drinking all night and your ass get hungry this is the place to go!!!! Omg omg this place is so good. We stop by on the way home around 2 am and so glad we did. I got carne Asada tacos with Spanish rice and horchata and damn they were mighty delicious!!! Food was prepared fast. My favorite things were the Spanish rice and their homemade red hot salsa. Even the green salsa was delicious. It was more of an avocado like green salsa. I loved it so much we took some tacos to go and a side of 2 rice. Warning: this restaurant no longer works with Doordash and will not notify you when you order even for pick-up. I ordered pick-up through Yelp; the order was confirmed, paid, and when I arrived at the restaurant, I was told they no longer worked with the order service. They were willing to take my order there for take-out but the menu was nit the same as the one online. Out of frustration, I left. What a shame! I was looking forward to enjoying the food. On my way home, Doordash had already canceled the order and notified me that "there was a problem" and refunded my credit card for the amount.
