Next to what I fear is a sketchy situation of an abandoned hotel is a cute little Mexican restaurant. Inside is clean and we were seated quickly. They are newer so they are still training staff so we had two servers taking care of us. The Chilaquiles were ok, would have been better if the chips were actually home made and not from a bag. The beans were just beans and the rice lacked flavor as well. The el pastor was well flavored and with the addition of their house hot sauces leveled up the dish. The Hawaiian torta was something special. The bread felt like it was kissed and buttered by an angel. The fries were odd, did not like them so much. The menu did mention "ask about dessert" but we were politely told dessert was not an available option yet. That's ok. We will be back to try them again. read more

The quaint & coziest place!! Once a week my husband and myself try a new restaurant around town, I love this weekly tradition. We tried El Taco (my week to choose) and I was excited to try! I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and new age of the restaurant. Just at a glance of the menu I knew that this was authentic Mexican food. No fried chicken tenders and fries in sight. The waitress was very polite , even with the limited English she spoke. I love that she automatically brought us water with our salsa and chips. Also, they were so good! Chips were not stale and the salsa had a small amount of heat without being overpowering. We ordered a cheese dip and it was too spicy for my preference, which is probably one of the only downside I had. My husband ordered Carnitas and he said they were so good. They were fall off the bone. I had the quesadilla lunch and chose grilled chicken as my meat. The chicken was fantastic, juicy, and flavorful. The tortilla you could tell has just been made, which I thought was such a small touch that made a difference in my experience. I truly felt like I had stepped into a small home of an old Spanish woman who had cooked all her life. It's definitely worth a shot if you love authentic Mexican food. Oh! The man probably don't understand this but as a woman seeing the bathroom, extremely clean just topped off my whole review of the restaurant. So modern, clean and well-maintained. As a woman with small children also, thank you clean bathrooms are a must. ** if you're wondering why there is only four stars instead of five. I usually grade up to a four. I was amazed at how fresh the food was here! The chips and salsa had a really good kick. The flour tortillas were freshly made! As were the soft corn! The margarita had great flavor and fresh fruit. I'd only with for a floater of grand mariner. The service was fast and friendly. I wish this place was closer to my house! read more

Husband and I stopped by around 1-1:30 on a Monday, looked closed. Inside we were greeted by a very nice lady, inside it was very nice/clean and no funky smells. We were the only ones there and were seated right away, the gal was very polite and handed us menus. Explained the specials they had and the breakfast menus. I asked her how long they had been open she said about two months and that it was a little slow. She's hopeful they will have more clients as they begin karaoke Friday nights and are opening the patio. The restaurant is clean, nicely decorated and big. My husband got the Cali burrito and I got the two taco platter. Food was good! The lettuce on my tacos was not wilted or funky. The rice and beans were good a little plain in flavor for me, but I am very Mexican and I'm used to very spicy foods and strong seasonings. This food, I think will satisfy a variety of taste buds. My ground beef taco had slightly undercooked beef and I did not eat most of it. I picked out some of the cooked looking beef to try it and it was flavorful. This is not a big deal since I've had medium rare steak. But in ground beef not for me. They do have a little salsa bar, the best part for me was the pickled red onions! -absolutely delicious . Also the water they served did not taste like faucet water like some other locations. I suspect they have a good filtration system. Again the staff was very nice. give them a try! read more

We are always looking for elevated food. It's our first time here. The restaurant has been open about a month. I ordered the Pastelitos/Empanadas. They were delicious. My husband had the Enchiladas Michoacanas. Both meals came out quick. Each of our meals were really good. And I thought the presentation of the food was amazing. You can taste the love that's put into it. We will visit again. The bathrooms are clean. read more

This place is RIGHT near Corry base--close enough to walk. We had street tacos of various sorts and they were good, but not the best in Pensacola. So I would for sure go here if I needed Mexican but didn't want to Uber/didn't have a car and was on base. read more

Place just opened up, and I had to put the fellas on some real culture. This restaurant is a true gem because it blends street food flavor with the comfort that Americanized Mexican restaurants are known for (chips and salsa back to back!). The Birria was tender and the consommé was juiced! Restaurant-wise: taking away from the Americanized Mexican restaurant average, the menu is not a billion pages of choice paralysis, and all the dishes we received were great quality. Also! The interior is fantastic, it's not a sticky, humid atmosphere. I'd call it "upscale". Service when we got there was super attentive, and the staff were all real nice. First time here. Ambiance was great. Clean overall. Comfortable booth seating. Friendly uniformed waitress. Wanted a margarita but didn't see it on the menu I was given so I assumed none were available and ordered a Mexican coke. I asked about margaritas later and the waitress said that's a separate menu I wasn't given at seating. So I said next visit I'll try their margaritas. Ordered Carne Asada and guac dip. The food was delicious, excellent and outstanding. No kidding, maybe the best ever "Mexican". I'm 72 and that says a lot. Service was great too. I'll be back for sure. read more

The ambiance inside the restaurant is beautifully done. The wait staff were so quick and friendly when first arriving and then checked on us frequently throughout the dining experience. I went with coworkers for lunch during the week and everyone commented on how good their meals were. The Salsa was delicious but unique. A coworker commented that they would buy jars of it, if offered. i recommend the Fish Tacos. The fried fish was cooked perfectly, the sauce was so tasty, the portions were perfect, and the presentation of the food was beautiful. We had a great lunch and will definitely be back. We even stopped for a photo opportunity before leaving. Five Stars! read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE IF YOU LIVE ON BASE!!! me and my boyfriend and our work friends went here tonight and customer service did not exist. we sat down and all ordered waters and two of us wanted horchata. they said they had no horchata (it's on the menu) so i asked if they had jamaica, which they also said no to. later whenever we ordered our cheese dip i asked for a sweet tea. the waitress came out 10 minutes later and said they had no sweet tea. we finally ordered our food, just for her to come out again and say they did not have chilequiles which is what i ordered, and said they only had burritos and tacos and quesadillas. my boyfriend who ordered and enchilada asked if they had enchiladas and she said "oh yeah we have enchiladas". at that point i just said i didn't want anything anymore and asked for our bill. when my boyfriend went to pay she said "sorry guy" and tossed the bill at him, where he then saw they charged him for a 9$ large cheese dip even though we got a small. never go here if you expect some sort of service and for them to have food and drinks 2 hours before closing. read more
