Our fourth time here at La Barra, The employees are always so nice and the restaurant is bright & clean. My husband & I were craving their Charro Beans. Best Charro Beans we have ever eaten. Besides the delicious charro beans I ordered the Taco Salad and it's so good. Michael had the White Pollo Al Carbon and it's hot chicken. The little sauces are so good. It's goes from a delightful verde to you needing a hospital. The only complaint I have is I did not have any room in my belly for dessert.

Authentic little Mexican restaurant on Navy Blvd. Excellent service, food, and ice cold cerveza!! Best tamales around! Shared one of our favorite dishes, molcajete. The chicken, skirt steak and shrimp were marinated divinely. Highly recommend!

There are not a lot of "good" Mexican restaurants around here, at least from what I've found. When I read the reviews for this place I had to give it a try. I admit I'm kind of a Mexican food snob being from California and having visited various regions of Mexico quite a number of times over the years, so I would actually rate this establishment at 3.5 stars. I rounded up to 4 because of their salsa bar. The service is good. I love the cleanliness, decor, and general feel of the place. Now let's talk food. I mentioned salsa. The salsa they serve with the chips is a very flavourful, yet mild, red salsa. The family loved it. I like a little more kick! Well, when I visited the salsa bar I found it! Their habanero blend is awesome! The chips are nice and fresh, lightly salted, very good. As far as the meals go, I liked the beans a lot, the rice was pretty good, but the chile relleno and tamale were not the best. According to my daughter the el pastor street tacos were good. My son liked his cheese enchilada, and the chicken tacos el carbon are also reportedly good. I will return, especially because the salsas are so delicious, but I will try something different next time for my main course.

The food is delicious! We got 2 burritos and they were excellent! The service is very good, very attentive!

The food was so delicious I'm convinced the chef has a direct line to my taste buds. Every bite was like a little fiesta in my mouth--no RSVP required. The atmosphere was authentically Mexican, so much so that I half-expected my grandma (who's not even Mexican) to come out of the kitchen yelling "¡Ándale!" And the music? Let's just say it was so lively I had to remind myself I came to eat, not join Dancing with the tacos.

Probably one of the best Mexican restaurants in Pensacola. Their assorted street tacos are delicious. This place is definitely my go to place if I want to take a break from my low carb life style. I also had their half a chicken, and the Carne Asada. This is my go to for low carb. I just don't order the rice. Try anything Al Pastor in the menu. It's a style of cooking that the Lebanese brought over to Mexico. It's prepared with a vertical spit roast like a Shawarma or Gyro. This is hidden gem on Navy Blvd.

The service has always been great. The tacos are very good, the half bbq chicken is excellent. Since they added the other side the place looks a lot better.

YUM.........YUM.........YUM!!!!!!! I kept hearing about La Barra Del Taco and I was getting more and more curious. Finally someone came into the office and told me that it was super delicious so we set out on Saturday to check it out. To be quite honest it is not in the ritziest area of town, it is on Navy Blvd pretty much directly across from House of Chong. There have been some renovations and the place is looking better. It was a bit rougher around the edges back in the day than it is now. We walked in and were greeted right away by the same lady that ended up being our server. She was very interested in us, and made sure we had everything we needed. As she left for our drinks, she made sure we knew about their salsa bar. That's right! A salsa bar, its not huge like Tijuana Flats, but it has several options two of the salsas (one green and one red) will blow your mind! They both are probably the very best salsas I have ever put in my mouth. They are almost savery and full of umami. A word of warning...........BOTH are very spicy! I could not stop putting them all over my food. I was drinking them from the to-go containers at one point, just to be able to taste them by themselves. Damn if I could only replicate them. How was the food? It was delicious! H.S. had the shrimp ceviche and I had veggie fajitas. Her's was fresh tasting, fantastically done with no fishiness and great texture from the lime doing its thing. It is served with three perfectly crunchy tostadas, but the chips are excellent and worked as well. I love vegetarian fajitas and they were good, for sure. My only comment would be that I like my veggies to have considerable char on them, it adds flavor. These were cooked down well, just not charred. No problem I will ask for that next time, or better yet, next time I will not ask a Mexican restaurant that leans to more traditional fare to make me something that was invented in America. Amateur move on my part. H.S. was smart and she out ordered me again. One thing I want to say for sure here is that we were some of the very few caucasians in this restaurant mid day on a Saturday and there was a soccer match on. La Barra is clearly a gathering place for Latin American locals to watch football. It was super cool being apart of the fun. It got pretty exciting in there! Hell, H S. said she might like to start watching, and I can't think of a better place. Good food, and a great time! What else can you ask for? I nearly forgot to mention the Tamales! Fantastic tamale sauce and melted cheese on top plus a very good masa to protein ratio! Very similar to the Mississippi River Delta Tamales I grew up on! Amazing and flavorful! Too many places serve theirs with way too much bland masa with no sauce to help the flavor and to keep the masa moist. These are done right. If you think tamales are bland and dry, you haven't eaten here.

    Chillie Relleno AMAZING

The chillie rellenos are amazing! We went 30 minutes out of the way last Monday and they were so good we came back again today We even got some to-go to take back to TN. The waitress and manager were so nice it added to how great the meal was.

The West Side has finally gained a top-notch Mexican restaurant. The dishes were expertly prepared. The Margaritas are truly delightful! I even stopped by the Store nextdoor and was delightfully pleased.

Last night in Pensacola and we were all craving Mexican. I live in Denver, home to some of the best Mexican food in the country. So my standards are very high. My sister Pea, and her husband, Big Mike highly recommended this restaurant. Located on Navy Blvd, it's located what appears to be a home that was renovated to be a restaurant. Restaurant is small, but clean. Cute decor and a bar. They offer free chips and salsa. The chips were obviously freshly made with a dusting of spices. The salsa was fresh and flavorful and not too spicy, which suits me as I can't take a lot of heat, but for those who want more heat they may offer a hotter choice. We also had Queso and it too was gooey and rich. We had Steak Fajitas, Carne Asada street tacos, Supreme enchiladas and beef enchiladas, charro beans and rice. The Margaritas were delicious, although not very strong. Service was prompt and friendly. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. Very different Mexican cuisine from what I'm used to in Colorado, but yummy nonetheless. Highly recommend.

    Tamale, chile relleno combo plate

The smell of the restaurant was like a dirty bar. And I would question the cleanliness. Food is okay.

Food and service are both great. My BIL did not care for his burrito. They do get busy and parking is minimal.

I'll give them another try. Service was mediocre at best. Food was good but seems that their prices are higher than average.

One review said they had the "best queso ever" at Lupitas Mexican Kitchen, but they apparently do not sell queso. So that was the first let down. The price of the 4 birria tacos was impressive, they were pretty good, just not amazing. The chicken quesadilla didn't really have any cheese, literally the chicken just fell out because there was nothing to hold it together. The steak burritos were decent, but again nothing to rave about. It did the trick, but I won't be back.

Lupita's Mexican Kitchen has a pretty straightforward menu and I had it narrowed down to either a burrito or the birria tacos and I asked the smiling young lady behind the counter which of the two I should go with. After a momentary pause, she pointed to the birria tacos sign. I paid for my order and found a seat. In a few moments, the smiling girl called out to me and handed me my food. The plate consisted of four birria tacos, a cup of consome (it appears that is the correct spelling for this. I thought it would be spelled like the traditional consomme) and a few small containers of both a spicy red sauce and a creamy green sauce. The price point was thirteen dollars. Quite a good price for the quality and quantity of the food they provided. These birria tacos were very good. I tore into them with quite some gusto. Mexican food is truly a culinary gift. I would have to say that Mexican is one of my favorite cuisines and it is because of these wonderfully humble little mom-and-pop establishments like Lupita's Mexican Kitchen. If you find yourself in Pensacola, Florida and craving Mexican food, Lupita's Mexican Kitchen is a great place to head for. Overall, I would definitely recommend Lupita's Mexican Kitchen and I will give it five stars overall.
