Good authentic Mexican food. Delicious carnitas. Great salsa. Good prices for good portion size. My garlic shrimp was on the small side but still good. My husband loved his gordito and crunchy taco. He said the carnitas was above average and looked amazing. There was authentic Mexican music playing and it was not too loud. The booth was pretty comfortable in the bathroom was very clean. We were stopping by here on our way to Santa Barbara. I highly recommend this place to eat or to go. Might be better to go because the restaurant is not very pretty. read more

Stumbled upon this spot after filling up at the nearby gas station. The restaurant is a to-go or dine-in which is super convenient. The spot is pretty clean outside and inside, available restrooms for customers too. Super friendly staff. Now to the food: flavors and salsa are on point. The Chile relleno burrito was a homerun! Quesadilla was also cooked to perfection. You'd be surprised there are some places that mess up on a quesadilla. Food was not oily and definitely filling for the rest of the road trip down. Made a pitstop today in King city today on my way back up to the bay area. I had to get gas and found this great Taqueria nearby that we decided to try. And boy am I glad I did. I ordered the super burrito carne asada. The burrito was just fantastic. All the ingredients were cooked to perfection. The beef was very tender and flavorful however and what really separated this burrito apart from the ones I've had in the past at other Taqueria's was that they grilled the flour tortilla which gave it extra flavor. The beans were cooked just right, rice was flavorful and fluffy and the sour cream and guacamole were nice touches. They provided chips and salsa but the salsa to me was ok. I will definitely will be coming back to El Bravo Taco in the future especially if I travel along Highway 101 from Northern to Southern California and vice versa. This is a great little spot right off the 101. Our food was delicious, and the portions were generous and reasonably priced. The staff was friendly, and the restrooms were clean. We stopped in on our way to Big Sur on a Thursday, and it was so good we wanted to pick up food again on our way south on Sunday, but unfortunately, they must be closed on Sunday. I stopped here for a quick lunch on my drive up from LA and I was not disappointed. I got a bean and cheese burrito that was delicious and affordable and two chicken tacos and they gave me chips and salsa for free. We stopped here on a trip from Santa Barbara to San Francisco. Frankly when I saw the restaurant I was a bit nervous. Not fancy at all ..and there were very few people in the restaurant. I quickly pulled out my phone to see what the Yelp community thought. After that reassurance, we went in and we were pleasantly surprised... the food was very tasty!! We split a super chicken burrito and loved! Plenty big for two. Plus the chips and salsa were so good!! I have high standards for Mexican food after living in California for the past 40 years. This place was a really worth trying, plus it's in the same center as the electric car charging stations if you are driving an EV. Who knew that a simple bean and cheese burrito could be sooooooo delicious?! I decided to be a good wife and let my husband have a bite of my food - he agreed that it was tasty. On our way back from Santa Barbara. we made the conscious decision to time our dinner stop at El Taco Bravo. This time, Subway didn't get love - my husband decided to get on the El Taco Bravo train and scored himself his own yummy bean & cheese burrito! My last visit was such a disappointment. Got a super burrito to go. The menu says the super includes guac, sour cream, and cheese. I asked for no cheese and cilantro added. For the life of me, I could not find even a trace of guac or sour creme and there was so little cilantro!The tortilla was soggy because it wasn't even allowed to grill. As if that's not bad enough, the pathetic amount of salsa had that soggy texture, like it's been sitting around for days. I might have come at a bad time (slow time a few days after Christmas and right before NYE) and gotten the old left overs. Stopped by on our way north after seeing a billboard and thought "What the heck!" A nice hole-in-the-wall, the decor is gorgeous (love the plants!), it's clean inside, comfortable seating and pleasant service. Free chips with a delicious house salsa were a plus! I ordered the Horchata, which was tasty, well-spiced, and awesome after a long day of driving. I also ordered the Huevos Rancheros breakfast plate w/ corn tortillas, and was surprised to see that it came with a side of fried potatoes and ketchup. A very homey touch that made me nostalgic for tex-mex breakfasts my mom makes, even if the potatoes were a tad greasy for my taste. The Huevos consisted of 2 sunny-side-up eggs covered in the house salsa, along with a side of refried beans, potatoes/ ketchup, and 3 corn tortillas. Very unique style of Rancheros, and they were delicious and satiating, but a bit expensive at $9 for the plate, which knocks down the stars for me. Burritos are the most affordable menu item, but everything else seems to have pretty high overhead. If you're okay with the pricing, you'll enjoy pretty much everything about this restaurant. Pending another long drive and a craving for El Taco Bravo, I may return. read more

We sat down and a young lady took our drink orders and brought out chips and salsa. The chips were fried well and the salsa was tasty! The salsa was spicy (in a good way) and was very flavorful.
