Stopped here for a quick bite and was surprised to find how great the food was for a good value. I got a steak torta and my partner got the supreme burrito. The portion sizes are quite filling and I really like their guacamole. They make it fresh and creamy, using perfectly ripened avocado with lots of lime juice. There's limited seating inside and outside the restaurant if you wanted to dine in, but this is not a place where they serve you. Food: we ordered nachos with asada, one pound of birria meat, California Burrito, regular asada burrito, and a combo plate with el pastor. The Chile verde was tasteless like grass, but the red salsa was better with heat. It was just slow cooked beef without any flavoring or mole/consome that birria should have. If you know birria, it's not dry and pairs with consome; this is not birria. was sad because I was excited a local place was selling birria California burrito - the asada was the best thing. The employee listed the ingredients for me and the burrito was missing some ingredients. If they ran out that's fine but they should inform the customer because now it not longer a California burrito. Asada burrito - this was a good option. The asada were full piece of asada and had good seasoning. Defiantly this over the birria Al pastor combo platter - the rice was okay, this meat tasted more similar to birria which had taste, and the beans were not good. Beans tasted like canned refried beans. The female at the register said it came with a side salad but that was missing too. Service: the female at the register was minimal and okay with answering my questions. She was generous with salsas. The biggest flaw was the missing food items and ingredients without any communication. Being transparent as a business is necessary to build rapport with local customers Environment: very simple plain and clean Overall: I would not come back because there is better Mexican food in town and worth your money. Just drive around the corner to Castro's Bakery or La Plaza Bakery or La Potranca on Broadway for authentic Mexican food made with love. Passing by on our way home from Big Sur, we stopped for the restroom that stayed for the meal. I enjoy a good Birra taco, so to see they had Quesabirra on the menu I had to hop on it! They allowed me to make a shrimp version, and it was the best decision. Very fresh, well cooked, and super flavorful. I also had the ceviche and that was just as good. With mango, the veggies are firm and fresh, setting this dish off. The small one is enough for a side dish. The cashier was super friendly, and the cook just as nice. A small place - ideal for takeout meals, but plenty of seating outside. Clean, organized, and inviting space. If ever I'm back in the area, I'll be sure to make this my pitstop. While it's not the best ever, it certainly is a step above most fast food taco places. The best part? Homemade tortillas - even crunchy ones! FOOD: Taco and fries, my favorite combination. The taco was amazing and the meat was good. The tortilla however really sealed the deal. The ratio of meat to tortilla to veggies was just right and the flavor was spot on. They are generous with the meat portion but the salsa has no kick at all. Wanted to try the lengua but they had none. This place is the real deal! It's tucked in a center right off the freeway behind the Starbucks. We had the quesabirria. It was so good! The meat was succulent and the corn tortillas are authentic. Service was prompt and they staff were nice. Not a fancy place, but it was clean and they had hand sanitizer on every table. First off- if you stop here to eat, don't follow Apple maps! It's by the Starbucks on the East side of 101. We tried several of the meats and the chicken was my favorite, Al Pastor was my husband's- but I feel as if tacos were not the best form factors because most of the meat was pretty dry on its own (the salsa verde was a good addition to my tacos!), and I wish one of us had gotten a burrito. My kids both got quesadillas- the carnitas quesadilla was very good but the cheese was disappointing- not all the cheese was melted! The soft tortillas were pretty good, but because they were so thick, the chips and the crispy tacos were too crispy! They had some larger seating outside- nothing fancy but it worked- and a few two-tops inside. The bathroom was clean but there was no soap in the dispenser, so instead they had put a bottle of dish soap for patrons to use, which honestly would have made me knock off a star even if their food had been great. read more

We usually stop at this Broadway exit off the 101 going to or from the bay to L.A. so when we found this hidden gem (it's in the Starbucks area/storefront shops) and we were so excited for REAL food. We stopped here on our way to Paso Robles. We recently moved from California to Arkansas, which has absolutely no good Mexican food, so we always try to get our fill when we are back home. The owner was super friendly. We chatted with him and he gave us samples of guacamole, shrimp ceviche, and another shrimp cocktail type dish I can't remember the name of along with some home made tortilla chips. All of it was excellent. The chips are super thick, crunchy, and yummy. We ordered a carne asada quesadilla, pastor super burrito, and a carnitas super burrito. Generous portions that definitely hit the spot! My favorite was the quesadilla. The carne asada is some of the best I ever had. So flavorful. If we come back on our way through town again, I think I'll get carne asada nachos. With those chips and that carne, I bet they're bomb! read more
