I really wish I lived closer to this place, or maybe not. My waistline probably couldnt handle it! The food was everything I wanted and hoped it would be. The tacos are quite hefty in size, not "street" sized. And their tostadas are scrumptious. Plus, they not only have horchata but they have flan too! Outstanding Food for a great price. The portions are extremely generous. The produce is fresh. The Customer Service is top notch. Always a warm, sincere greeting. Great location. A lot of various shops nearby. Close to Autzen and the Em's stadium. They take cash, Credit Cards, and Debit cards. They accept phone orders. Dang, I've been eating off the same burrito for 3 days now. Huge! As other reviewers say, it's cheap, it's generously portioned, and it's authentic. My favorite part, however, is all-you-can-eat garnishes of picked jalapenos, carrots and fresh radishes. The whole roasted jalapenos will set you a fire! read more

Absolutely amazing. I'm an OSU Beaver and had some hesitancy about coming to a random taco joint in Eugene/Springfield. Holy Shit. This place rocked my socks off. I can't event describe the food here. Everyone we talked to just raved about it. Super inexpensive and amazing quality. I had a Taco and a Burrito and was amazed by both. The tacos: My favorite are the al pastor and the asada tacos. They're amazing and always spot on. They've got a double layer of tortilla and a generous helping of filling and three is a great wonderful big big lunch. Great value, too. The service: Great! Sometimes there's a mini-language barrier if you talk too fast or trail off because English is not the first language of the any of the people I've seen working there but they are always friendly, polite, helpful. Came here out of curiosity...I've been within walking distance of this little gem for 2 years and I hadn't given it two glances until today. Stuck with the option of this or Subway (yet again), I decided to give El Taco a try. Boy am I glad I did! I ordered an oregon burrito and it was amazing! All the comfort of steak & fries wrapped in a delicious burrito. They have a new regular now! P.S. The line was out the door when I got there so I almost left as I was super hungry and impatient. Gratefully I stayed and ate the best $4 veggie burrito I probably will ever have. Huge, all the basic essentials plus guac for no extra charge. After I ordered it couldn't have taken more than 7 minutes for me to be out the door. Also next door there's a grocery store owned by very sweet people so go buy some dessert and a bottle of wine for lager over there. ;) read more

Food was very good. All hot sauces were freshly made and I suspect the flour tortillas were too. We got a green buritto plate and a steak fajita plate, both were huge portions and very good. The prices were excellent as was the food. The atmosphere is what lost it one star, it is very much a fast food style atmosphere. However, I was feeling oddly brave that day. I decided to take the plunge. Much to my surprise, the food was delicious! I ordered the taco plate. For $7.25, you get 3 tacos, beans, rice, lettuce/tomato on the side and a medium drink. It was too much for me to cram all of it into my gullet. Their burritos are huge. The plate of super nachos is enough for two. The taste to the carnitas is amazing. They cook very well and serve huge portions for cheap... really, what else is there to know? The food they cook reminds me of the Mexican food down the street where i grew up in California. They cook family style, nothing fancy. All the ingredients are fresh and they have no problems accommodating picky eaters. My personal favorite is the Carnitas super nachos. I love the crispy parts of the meat and the smooth texture of the beans. Their guacamole is awesome too. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed. read more

I'v gone to this place many times. I've never had a problem with the food or service. This time I found a piece of metal from a metal scrubby in my meat. I thought, "ew" but having worked grills in the past I knew how it was possible since that is how they are cleaned. I discarded the piece. And then I noticed what could only be hairs from someone's pubes hidden underneath some meat.. It may have been random and indiscriminate to the person who did it. But it felt personal. And there is no reason as to why someone would do this other than hate. Sorry to say I'll never go to this business again. read more

While I'm still on the hunt for good Mexican food in the area, this place was pretty good. It's small and gets busy but I didn't wait too long for my food.
