This is the real deal. I was in Mexico recently and this place, their food and the little store attached reminds me of my trip. Food is flavorful, spicy and really delicious. If you don't like hot, make sure you order mild. I got enchiladas and bf got his usual carne asada burrito. My friend and I had lunch here, for the first time, a few days ago. The food was freshly prepared and delicious. The service is courteous and friendly and efficient. There is adequate seating in the dining area, and local clientele who seem to be "regulars." We both had tacos plates, mine 2 tacos (chicken and pastor) with rice and refried beans, my friend's a three taco plate (pastor). We were reminded of "street tacos" we had during visits to Mexico. Very tasty! The prices are reasonable. We also enjoyed looking in their small 'shop', at many interesting items such as foods, cowboy-style hats, and beautiful, large piñatas. Hands down the best and most authentic Mexican food in all of Eugene! Their sauces are incredible and you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Their chicken is actually delicious grilled thighs not just bland shredded boiled chicken like most other places. The Al pastor is my favorite! It's so good and so much flavor. I first learned about this place through its sister restaurant in Klamath Falls. The tacos taste like the delicious truck foods from my LA hometown. I can put away three carne asada tacos way too fast and then be ready for some sopes or a flauta. Make sure to try the Al pastor too. When they ask if you want everything, your answer should be an emphatic yes. That will get you some medium hot salsa and their home pickled carrots and jalapeños. They're a bit like the Russian roulette of garnishes but they are oh so good. This location has an attached market with some dry goods for sale too. This is a little restaurant, not especially clean or well-maintained from the outside, but the food that is served here is quick, cheap and delicious. The tortas are the sh*t, with a fabulous foundation of delicious specialty, fresh baked bread. You can't go wrong with the standard meat options (carnitas, al pastor, carne asada, pollo) but I haven't tried the more adventurous choices, so I can't speak for those. With the addition of cheese, lettuce, avocado and sauce, I must say my tortas purchased are consumed quickly before I inspect if there is any additional ingredients to the sandwich worth mentioning. The buritto supreme is also very tasty, generous sized, and incredibly filling. The chile sauce they asked if I wanted wasn't that appealing; it tasted like a slightly spicy and bitter enchilada sauce, so I am glad I requested it on the side. I love their complimentary sides of pickled carrot, radish and peppers that comes with most entrees. All in all: Very tasty, very filling. Food coma probability is high. read more

Yes, I am going to give this hole in the wall a 5 star review. This does not mean it is a 5 star restaurant, but in the category of LIKE KIND places such as El Super Taco or other taco shops, this place is SO MUCH BETTER. Not even comparable. I friend of ours had suggested Los Morenas to us in the past, but we don't find ourselves out RR often. Now, this place is a dive, yes. People do not come here for the ambiance. If squeaky clean is a requirement for you, don't even bother coming inside. I had the Taquitos and my husband had the Enchilada Plate, and we also had the warm chips and salsa. Warm salsa is my new favorite thing. It was SO delicious! I believe the batch was whipped up by hand upon ordering. It was perfectly balanced, spicy and the chips were crisp and hot. For $2, you cannot beat it. The pickled veggies that came with each plate were perfectly done. Not soggy, not too crisp, but a well balanced flavor and texture. The radish is a nice addition to the typical. My taquitos were cooked just right. Crisp on the outside, the chicken inside cooked PERFECTLY, not even a hint dry (like all of my El Super experiences) and well seasoned. The tangy sauce topped with sliced avocado and lettuce was a nice touch. My husband's enchiladas were also well seasoned and cooked properly. The beans were tasty and the rice just needed a hint more flavor. We will be back. A lot. :) read more

Ok so when you go there you have to get the torta! I don't get the mayo or ham in mine but the warm red sauce that you pour inside of this yummy sandwich is beyond words. Sipped here today to have a burrito and a little "guy time" with my brother. While I've been here before... It was BYE (before Yelp era). This visit was as good as the first. The food is pretty darn good (so sayeth my taster buds), and the price was fair. I got a supreme burrito, a bean burrito, two sodas and a medium horchata, for $15. I may have caught them after a rush, because many of the tables in the nearly occupant-less room were littered with the casualties of once proud burritos. I'm not sure if they are routinely behind on their cleaning or not... but I'd bet that's a negative. The staff were friendly and attentive, even though this isn't really the kind of place where someone tends to you once you've paid and sat. I like it. When/if I have cause to eat here again, I'll get another of their hefty burritos. Perhaps a wet one next time. read more

The carne asada plate at Las Morenas is fantastic. After trying lots of different menu items, my recommendation is for tacos or the asada plate. To me this is the closest thing to food I've had at road side cafes in Baja California. All of the meats are well prepared fresh to order so the tacos are legit. Based on the Yelp reviews, I decided to give Las Morenas a try yesterday. I loved the idea- a basic no frills place with great food. However, eating in the restaurant I did expect metal utensils rather than the plastic ones I was given, I had a chicken super burrito which I ordered wet with mild sauce. It had very little flavor at all so I used a little salsa picante to perk it up. One highlight is that it had chunks of fresh avocado in it. But the red sauce that came with it had very little flavor- and just adding hot sauce doesn't make it flavorful. It was very inexpensive (lunch time), almost embarrassingly so. You order at the counter and they bring it out to your table on a paper plate. And the people who worked there were very nice. I was hoping this would become my new "secret" place for a great lunch; not so much. Would I go again? Maybe- maybe try the tacos next time. But the blandness of the burrito doesn't draw me back. read more

Food is ok but customer service is very bad make Sure you order your food correctly because if they make it wrong they (yes las morenas) will not fix it I had this problem and the owner said he cannot do anything about because he will Lose money my wife and are not training to get free food we just wanted are food the way we order it.
