So- food is good and portions are large. However, found an eyelash in my salad last time- gross!! The cashier lady needs some customer service lessons. There's a 50 cents charge for credit cards used with any transaction. So basically you can spend $100 for food there, and still have to pay the stupid extra cc charge. We have been a fan of this chain from when we lived out in the valley!! Each own restaurant has their own spin on things, but this one has by FAR been our favorite. Their red salsa is the best!!! (I wish i could get their recipe ). Their food is always great, never have we had a problem. Some of their menu items are great, others not so much! The beef tacos are amazing. The beef is cooked so well and it is so flavorful! You could eat the beef by itself and it would still be tasty! I have also ordered the chicken enchiladas. The enchilada sauce is good but the chicken itself is very bland. There was absolutely no flavor, which is an absolute let down after the beef. Unfortunately I was also disappointed with their rice. It doesn't compare to other places' rice. But!! The tortilla chips are wonderful. We did a side by side al pastor burrito comparison, El Taco Llama vs El Pariente across the street. El Pariente won but El Taco Llama did well. The part that really stood out was the salsa bar. One tin had your standard, peppers, carrots, onions mix but included inside were slices of spicy, boiled potato. I'm a fan of Mexican food and I've never seen this before. The starch cut a little of the spiciness, they had an interesting texture and an uncommon flavor. I loved 'em. Ate as much as I could without looking like a total pig. This place has a big menu . The food is really good. The line is also quick and fast. There is private parking and street parking. They have a salsa bar and bathrooms . There bathroom are really nasty though and no soap. It smells kind of in the restaurant. Think a nice remodeling would be good. There is a tv , great customer service . I just don't like the inside but there food is good my favs are the nachos, tortas, tacos, and burritos . The menudo is not the best it taste really sweet i do not like.. they have agua frescas tamarindo , pina, and horchata I like that. Just the inside I do not like the food is good though . One star for their tripas tacos, they're good, crunchy and tasty but everything else is like they make it in a hurry. I asked the cashier if the chiles rellenos had seeds, she said " no, they take them out" I trusted her but it seems like her cook and her don't communicate often. The date of this update review is December 2, 2018. For the past three years or so, we have frequented this eatery place about once a month. While the food is still good and the portions are decent, however the prices have went up. Many items that we used to order have disappeared from the menu. I always order their Carne Asada beef burrito to consume there. Although the size of the burrito was large, the meat contents were very small. The cost of this burrito gas risen up noticeably. There was lot of rice, beans, and onions inside my burrito but I noticed the quantity of meat was drastically reduced. I would have liked my burrito to contain more meat as I like their seasoned meats. Perhaps I should have offered extra dollar or two to have more meats added in my burrito. El Taco Llama used to be on top of my list for burritos, but now it is just one of many in a crowded field. My rating for this place stands at 3.5 stars. read more

Couldn't have picked a better place to eat out today amid the corona virus. I received excellent and quick service. This is authentic Mexican food that will leave you wanting more.
