There were a ton of people at this restaurant - the parking lot was massive and we STILL had to park in the grass!! And people have good taste! Like what I said, the food was great! The restaurant is also large. We had to wait about 25 minutes, but that wasn't too bad. We got seated and service was a little slow, but that was ok because of the 'rush hour traffic' going on at the restaurant. Once our server did get to us, she was great! We got the bloomin' onion as an appetizer. YES, they have a bloomin' onion. We love those things, and had to get one. Theirs is pretty good! The sauce is pretty close to Outbacks, and is not too greasy. I was surprised at how tender their Filet Mignon was. It was great! The sweet potato casserole is like a dessert (so good)!! And Mac and cheese is pretty ok as well. They gave us a ticket at the end of our meal for free ice cream for all 6 of us!! (Of course we had to use it since it's free). They have a shop to the left tucked away from the restaurant, with ice cream, shirts, a parrot, and many old timey merchandise! The blueberry cheesecake ice cream had good flavor, and had good texture! Not too icy. If you're in the area, come dine at Cody Creek! You will enjoy your experience.

The pizza is also very good. His Margherita Pizza is delicious. You must eat it there to get the best flavor. I always get the seafood pasta which comes with salad. Yummy! My son and husband have tried other dishes which are never disappointing. Pictures of Italy, great music, and a pleasant atmosphere. If you're in Dobson, definitely go see Francesco! Highly Recommend!

My experience at Little Italy in Dobson was unacceptable and deeply concerning…read more When my partner and I entered the restaurant with my trained service dog, Hercules, we were immediately stopped by the owner and told that we would have to sit in a separate back room because of my service dog. I explained that Hercules is a trained service animal protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The owner then claimed there was a child who was afraid of dogs. However, there appeared to be only one child present, seated with another customer, and the child was actually smiling at Hercules. More importantly, under the ADA, businesses cannot isolate, segregate, or treat a person differently because they use a service animal. A customer's fear of dogs or allergies is not a valid reason to deny access, restrict seating, or separate a person with a disability from other patrons. When I realized I was being treated differently because of my service dog, I chose to leave rather than continue the confrontation. Before leaving, I provided ADA information explaining the legal requirements regarding service animals. What happened next was even more disturbing. After I left, I received a call informing me that I had been trespassed from the restaurant and was not welcome back. Being effectively excluded because I attempted to assert my rights and educate staff on ADA requirements is completely unacceptable. This was not simply poor customer service--it appeared to be a direct violation of the ADA's protections regarding service animals and equal access. Businesses that serve the public have a responsibility to understand and comply with federal disability law. The food was disappointing as well, but honestly that became irrelevant after the way I was treated. I cannot recommend this restaurant, especially to anyone with a disability who relies on a service animal. No one should be segregated, singled out, or threatened with trespass simply because they use a legally protected service dog. Hercules behaved appropriately throughout the entire interaction, and there was absolutely no legitimate reason for the treatment we received.

Pirate's Landing Elkin NC…read more It seems that Theofanis K. Kakouras made a great decision in opening Pirate's Landing in Elkin, NC. No doubt there is an art and science to staffing this property in NC mountains. We really have no idea hoe to recruit a staff in NC mountains Outstanding: Dinner salad, fresh baked bread, service and tonight Pirate's Pasta - linguine, marina, shrimp, scallops, clams, and mussels. Kakoura does not skimp on the shrimp and other seafood. My darling wife would greatly enjoy this pasta dish. Leah, our accomplished server is a great ambassador for Pirates Landing, and we suggest that Kakoura offer tastings to servers in order for them to offer recommendations. Pirate's Landing is a faux pirate ship, and is large with several dining areas. Suggest hostess stay on task and not stray. Pirate's Landing is a great venue for kids and their parents. We appreciate the large on-site parking lots. Menu features a variety of seafood at very interesting prices. Initially, I was thinking three stars, and as evening came together awarded five stars. Pirates Landing is walking distance from our hotel, Marriott Fairfield Inn, but most diners will be happier to take the one mile drive. Thanks Theo; We'll be back.
