Their fried chicken sandwich was audibly crisp with fresh tomato and lettuce that I made two meals out of. To end the perfect meal... my husband actually coordinated with staff to create "Gender Reveal" pancakes! I didn't realize what they were until I got to the yummy surprise! Their cream is delicious! The pancakes were soft and sweet! The experience, unforgettable. It brought happy tears to my eyes and we really appreciate the thought and care put into our day. We will DEFINITELY be repeat customers!

One thing I love is that they switch up the steak portion of the menu a few times a year, and it never disappoints. Right now they have the steak au poivre, which is incredible, although I'm still craving their steak frites and hoping it makes a comeback. The escargot and French onion soup are also favorites of mine. At this point, June's has become a staple in our house--usually with a couple of Diet Cokes and either the burger or whatever steak they're featuring. A few of my friends swear by the chicken sandwich (fair warning: it can get a little messy!), the half roasted chicken, and the tuna crudo, so you really can't go wrong no matter what you order. On top of the amazing food, the staff is always incredibly kind and welcoming, which keeps us coming back. I definitely recommend making a reservation since it tends to get pretty busy, especially during peak hours.

There is a QR code that you're required to use to join the waitlist/queue, but this is not clearly communicated on their website. Once I joined the queue, I was number 43 and ended up waiting about an hour and a half before being seated. I understand that popular restaurants can have long wait times, but the lack of transparency about how the process works made the experience more frustrating than it needed to be. Once inside, the ambiance was actually quite quaint and charming. That said, considering how much traffic this restaurant gets, I was surprised by how limited the space is. I honestly think expanding the property would make a huge difference, although I understand that may not be entirely within their control. One thing I will give them major credit for is the menu. Online, the selection makes it look somewhat limited, but once you're there, they actually have 50+ food options, so there is plenty to choose from. That was definitely a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, my entrée was disappointing. I ordered a shredded beef taco with salsa and substituted a side salad. The beef was extremely tender, but unfortunately, it was also very dry. The salad was another disappointment because the vinaigrette was honestly not good. I don't think I've ever had a vinaigrette that I actively disliked until this meal. Thankfully, my fiancé had a much better experience. He ordered an enchilada and said it was one of the top five enchiladas he's ever had, so clearly there are some standout dishes on the menu. That definitely made me curious about trying something different if I ever return. I also really enjoyed that they offer hibiscus tea. I was very happy to see it on the menu, although I personally think it would be better served on its own rather than incorporated into one of their mixed drinks. The drink itself was just okay, but the hibiscus flavor was great. Overall, I can see why this place has become an Austin staple, but I think the experience could be improved significantly by making the waitlist process much clearer online and by improving the consistency of some of the food. The menu has a lot of potential, and clearly, some dishes are excellent! Unfortunately, mine just wasn't one of them.

They had a baked apple seasonal option while I was there and it was amazing. Traditional breakfasts are also delicious and far more manageable. It's a small space, with only around eight tables and a tiny kitchen behind the counter. It's a bit hard to locate from outside. There's no big sign on the window indicating the restaurant's name, just a plastic A-frame sign outside the building's doors. When I got there, four of the eight tables were empty but the dirty dishes had not yet been cleared. It took close to 10 minutes for the tables to be bused. Because the kitchen is so small, I'd recommend going up to the counter to order as soon as you get there. I believe you can also place your order online using the QR code on the table, but I didn't try that method. I ordered the lox n found, a toasted croissant roll with smoked salmon, avocado, dill ricotta, arugula, onion, and capers. The menu says it also comes with a side of roasted potatoes, but mine didn't come with that. The sandwich was delicious and filling, so I definitely didn't need them, but I do feel like I didn't get what I paid for.

Yes. Real tacos (read: not Tex Mex), a fresh salsa bar, and a homey atmosphere. I've been here several times, and tried the Bistek (Los Famosos), Al Pastor, Pollo Asado, Barbacoa, and Carne Guisada. The Bistek is the best - the avocado and queso really bring it home. The Al Pastor is a close second, because come on, few things in life are better than pork roasted and sliced from a giant rotisserie. The corn tortillas taste homemade, and hold up against all the salsa and meat and cheese; they don't break down like Milagros. The girl got the Pozole, and she said it reminded her of her childhood. Nostalgia points. But maybe a handful of green onions, mis taqueras? Just a suggestion! When I'm not in the mood to make tacos at home, this will probably be my go-to spot. The price is right, the taste is great, and the staff is friendly. Recommended. Unless you're a hipster. Then stay away. I don't wanna have to fight you. read more

The tacos at El Taquito are very good. That being said I still enjoy going to Cantina Laredo not only do they have great food, but they do provide excellent service. They offer more than just tacos. Try the Chilean Sea Bass or Cameron Poblano Asada both are cant miss. The margaritas are my favorite in Austin. read more

Yolanda, pictured, is the only cook and owner of her trailer since 2013. Her recipes are full of flavor, warmth & pride. The tacos did not disappoint and she'll make them however you want! I recommend you make sure to have one of your tacos with beans and that you also save room for her amazing & tummy/soul warming fideo! Yolanda checked in on us to see how we liked her food. She is a hardworking woman, full of pride & soul. She chatted with me and we exchanged stories. For a moment, there were no customers and she even sat down and had a bowl of fideo with us. My late night jaunts in Austin have usually lead me to a number of late night spots, most of which…read morehas been food truck taquerias and cater to us hungry night owls in the local food scene. One such spot has been El Super Taco, which is east of I-35 and a stone's throw from the airport. While I wouldn't call their food super per se, I would note that they've been a solid option practically every time. (#1) The truck itself is parked at an old gas station, which they've converted to an outdoor dining space complete with parking and picnic benches for folks who want to chow down on the spot. During the pandemic they had built an where they take payment straight through a window and of course, it's cash only. The wait isn't too long for the food and during their heydey, the tables were usually filled with people. At 2AM, not so much. Unlike the Houston taco scene, they have asada (#2) as one of their choice meats, followed by pastor, barbacoa, cecina, pollo, chicharron, campechano, and deshebrada. The latter is a shredded beef that has been one of their best sellers and is not commonly found at most taco spots. Their barbacoa and pastor are good, but they are commonly sold out before their night is over. They also have breakfast tacos during select times of the day, and that's do a very good huevos based taco with nopales or tocino or salchipapa or the classic chorizo and/or spinach. The tortas, sopes, quesadillas, and sincronizadas are worth considering, but the gorditas and tostadas are very underrated. Speaking Spanish isn't required (#3), it is helpful. The staff is quite good about expediting the food, especially when there is a line. It hasn't been a problem during their later hours and there's been plenty of seating. Lastly, I recommend taco selfies for that sick mural. Most taco stands / trucks won't have something that artistic, so I recommend taking advantage of it while it's still here. ___________ (#1) Consistency and reliability. It matters in life and in tacos. (#2) Seriously, what's the deal with the meat "fajita" in Houston? (#3) Welcome to Austin!

By the end of the meal, my husband literally thanked me for not dragging us to some overpriced "fancy" spot. This place delivers big flavor, big portions, and a laid-back vibe that just works. I tried all 5 of the ones available: pollo, tripa, chorizo, asada, and pastor. The ones that were tasty were the tripa and chorizo. Outside of that, nothing special. I was excited to have it paired with a salsa but this was also more flavorless and didn't add to the taco. If I come back I'll be looking to try out a torta or the birria!

The tortillas? Freshly made to order. I had the bean and cheese breakfast taco--comforting, flavorful and clearly made with care. My cousin went with the sausage taco which was just as satisfying. These tacos don't rely on gimmicks or over-the-top ingredients; it's their homemade feel and straightforward goodness that make them stand out. If only we have something like this in San Antonio! But hey, now we've got another reason to visit Austin--and an affordable one at that. Whether for breakfast or lunch, this food truck is definitely worth revisiting. Highly recommended!

I thought they were okay. They're not bad by any means but some of the meat was a little dry and lacked a little bit of flavor. But my friend had their shrimp taco and barbacoa a la carte and they thoroughly enjoyed it! Aside from that, the salsas that came on the side were great!

They gave us two sauces, a green (spicy!) and a red. I loved the red sauce! Unfortunately, instead of giving us the two vampiro tacos, they have us two MORE orders of the mini tacos with steak. Bummed I didnt get to try that taco, but I cant be mad about 12 mini tacos lol. The steak version was just as good as the pastor! Everything was hot and packaged well, would definitely order again!
