First of all, I understand this is a fusion restaurant, but I wasn't really sure what standard to judge it by. From an Asian food perspective, I'd give it a 2/5 -- otherwise maybe closer to a 3/5 overall. Service was average, and the overall atmosphere felt more Hispanic-inspired than Japanese fusion. The mango margarita was actually great though -- definitely my favorite part of the experience. As for the food, nothing really stood out. The edamame was overly cooked and mushy. The chicken and shrimp fried rice was disappointing because the chicken tasted hard and chewy, almost feels like leftover chicken reheated. The calamari was okay, very bland, nothing special. The bathroom could also use some work, especially if the restaurant is aiming for a slightly more upscale environment. Overall, if you're coming for the fusion vibe and drinks, you may enjoy it. Although, I'd still probably go to another fusion restaurant with better quality food and better options. I personally wouldn't return, especially considering the price and food quality. read more

Came here for my friend's birthday on a Friday night, so we understood the 40-45 minute wait. Unfortunately, the host, Yamileth, was rude when we politely asked for updates after noticing groups our size being seated before us. We absolutely loved the atmosphere here -- it's clean, cozy, and has a really nice vibe. It feels a little more upscale and makes for a great place to sit and relax. We ordered five different rolls to try a good variety. Unfortunately, only one of them really stood out. The others were pretty bland and didn't have much flavor or anything especially unique. They weren't bad, just not very memorable. It honestly feels like you're paying more for the ambiance than for bold, standout sushi. This place is super cute on the inside, cute for a date night or girls night. We were seated and unfortunately it took almost 10 minutes to be acknowledged and that was only because we stopped someone and asked who our server would be. The person we stopped decided that she would be our server. She seemed to be new, so she had someone training her with her as well. Once we got our food and drinks ordered they came out quick. I got the Arizona roll. It was actually really good, but the only thing I didn't like about it was the fact that they put lemon slices, including the brine, in the roll. Next time I would order it without that. Overall they have a ton of sushi options on here. This is an interesting concept being that there are traditional rolls and Mexican rolls as well. Updating my review! I had dine in for the first time today! I really liked the atmosphere, it's moody, kinda dark, and gives a nice ambiance. The service was great! We came in fairly late, and close to the closing time. (It's my birthday today, and I had a full day with work and class, so I wasn't free until after 9pm.) For it being so late, and with the kitchen closing soon, it was terrific! The rolls were ok, I feel like they tasted better the last time we had tried this place. Our favorite was the carne asada. The dragon roll was nothing special, I always love eel, but it was not the best. The Mexican roll was okay. The crunchy roll is good. The drink was delicious! It was so sweet and refreshing. I'm so glad our waiter recommended it! Our total came out to $118. It did not feel like it was worth the price, but the vibes were there. Took my friends here after a weekend in Ensenada Wine country eating and drinking at Michelin Star restaurants. We wanted somewhere to stop on our drive back and thought we'd go somewhere they like and have gone to often. It was my first time. Service was amazing, restaurant and bar are so pretty and the music was rocking! I wasn't too impressed with the fried sushi rolls, but the rest of the options were pretty darn tasty. E had stuffed jalapeños, margs, beers, a refreshing cucumber drink, and they were all delicious. There were so many options on the menu, I can't describe specifically which rolls we had, but everybody ate everything up, so there's that. Overall, a nice place to pop in for drinks and appies, but I wasn't wowed by those darn fried rolls, they simply tasted pretty-made. Blame the snob in me. They also have a ton of drink options that they aren't stingy on and are mixed really well. The prices are a little bit on the higher end, but I think this place is worth the treat! This place was so good. I can't remember the last time I've gotten fresher ceviche. The sushi was quality and good portions. The beer was cold and the service was fast and friendly. The fries were nothing special and needed salt but at least they were HOT! The restaurant is clean the servers are professional and attentive. It is very roomy with comfortable seats. Although it was a little dark for my taste, but I get it, it's the high end Nobu type atmosphere.
