One of my favorites sushi spots. Food is always a 10, Fernanda was our waitress that night and she was very attentive, great personality very welcoming. Love how they have grown and how it's now operates. Good date type of environment, dim lighting great music. I tell everyone about this place and turn them on. My all time favorite roll is their tropical roll, I can eat two if I could without getting full off just one. 10/10

New place for me and my ride or die. Came here with my family and I'm not a sushi fan but I did the teriyaki chicken that was the bomb. The sauce is very good and you get quite a bit of chicken and rice and for what little money they charge for it, I was a fan. Very tasty. The fusion music was actually pretty nice to listen to as well. Would come back for sure.

We absolutely loved the atmosphere here -- it's clean, cozy, and has a really nice vibe. It feels a little more upscale and makes for a great place to sit and relax. We ordered five different rolls to try a good variety. Unfortunately, only one of them really stood out. The others were pretty bland and didn't have much flavor or anything especially unique. They weren't bad, just not very memorable. It honestly feels like you're paying more for the ambiance than for bold, standout sushi. I might come back for the atmosphere, but I do wish the flavors matched the setting a bit more.

This place is super cute on the inside, cute for a date night or girls night. We were seated and unfortunately it took almost 10 minutes to be acknowledged and that was only because we stopped someone and asked who our server would be. The person we stopped decided that she would be our server. She seemed to be new, so she had someone training her with her as well. Once we got our food and drinks ordered they came out quick. I got the Arizona roll. It was actually really good, but the only thing I didn't like about it was the fact that they put lemon slices, including the brine, in the roll. Next time I would order it without that. Overall they have a ton of sushi options on here. This is an interesting concept being that there are traditional rolls and Mexican rolls as well. I'm sure there's something here for everyone.

Updating my review! I had dine in for the first time today! I really liked the atmosphere, it's moody, kinda dark, and gives a nice ambiance. The service was great! We came in fairly late, and close to the closing time. (It's my birthday today, and I had a full day with work and class, so I wasn't free until after 9pm.) For it being so late, and with the kitchen closing soon, it was terrific! The rolls were ok, I feel like they tasted better the last time we had tried this place. Our favorite was the carne asada. The dragon roll was nothing special, I always love eel, but it was not the best. The Mexican roll was okay. The crunchy roll is good. The drink was delicious! It was so sweet and refreshing. I'm so glad our waiter recommended it! Our total came out to $118. It did not feel like it was worth the price, but the vibes were there. Overall, it was a decent experience, and I would definitely come back. I would like to try it at a different time of day next time and see if anything is better.

Such a cool restaurant! Great ambiance with good service and amazing food! The Gueritos were my favorite but everything was so good! So much flavor and good sized portions. You won't be disappointed.

I loved the one in Tempe so I had to try this location! The ambiance is very nice mixture of Mexican and Japanese decor. So beautiful. The food was good. Drinks were yummy I especially liked my Mezcamaica drink! Loved. They did for get things and also put cream cheese in a roll we asked for without.. it was a busy night. Friday night - typical , the employees seemed frantic.. we had to wait 15 minutes to close out. Tempe location is preferred for service!

Just amazing! Mexican spin on traditional classics. Everything was so yummy. I can't remember which is which since I ordered several different rolls

Went on a Wednesday night and there was a good amount of people in the restaurant, which gave it a nice, lively atmosphere. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the service was fast. Our food came out in about 15 minutes after we were seated, which was pretty quick considering how busy it was. Overall, the experience was smooth, and everything from seating to getting our meals felt well organized.

We went on a Saturday night and were seated right away. The place is big and has a lot of seating which is great because they were busy. The food was outstanding! The fusion was everything I wanted and more. If you get one thing here try the Sashimi Rainbow! The portions are great and everything tasted so fresh. Now the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was due to our server messing up a lot on our orders. Gave us the wrong beer and the wrong drinks. Then told us not to worry he'd comp the mistake because he entered it wrong but still charged us.

Lots of options here for alcohol and sushi, and loved the fried choices! Service was very good. Evening Happy hour prices would've been better on a Monday night, but the food was still pretty good!

It was both gorgeous and delicious!!! Nestled in an Avondale strip mall, this cozy little Japanese place serves up a deep menu of over 60 different sushi rolls, five different kinds of ramen, as well as staple Japanese and Korean entrees like Teriyaki, Bulgogi, and Katsu bowls. The restaurant is pristine: everything in the front of the house was clean and the decor was a balance of both modern and traditional Japanese. Their lunch rush was steady; the dining room was well occupied shortly after opening. And the service was attentive and genuine! This is, hands down, one of the best sushi spots in the area! I will be back!

Unfortunately, I have to change my review. We've been coming here since Sushi Love first opened,…read moreand in the beginning this place was on top of things, the servers were friendly and attentive, and while the kitchen could be a little slow at times, it was never anywhere near as bad as what we experienced today. Here's the timeline from when we arrived to when we finally received everything: 12:10 - Seated 12:20 - Finally able to order drinks and food 12:27 - Received my single sushi roll 12:54 - Guest received his entree 1:04 - Just received our gyoza appetizer It took over 10 minutes after being seated before the waitress even got us water. I was trying to look up other restaurants in the area because we were about to leave. What made this even more confusing was that it was a Sunday right after opening, and the restaurant wasn't even busy. Because the appetizer took so long, I ended up splitting my single sushi roll with my guest so he wouldn't have to sit there hungry while waiting on his food. Even then, it still took over 30 minutes for his entree to arrive, which was ridiculous considering it was just one dish. The most frustrating part was waiting nearly 45 minutes for a single appetizer order of gyoza. We were honestly close to leaving before it ever arrived, and I would have left still hungry. If the appetizer had come out in a reasonable amount of time, I could have actually enjoyed the roll I came there for in its entirety instead of having to split it just so we could get by while waiting. The pacing of the food also made no sense. Appetizers should come out before entrees, not after everything else. Instead, one person was eating while the other sat there waiting, which made the entire experience awkward and frustrating. If the waitress paced things correctly it would have made a huge difference and likely helped prevent the kitchen from getting backed up. On top of that our waitress never apologized for the delays or acknowledged the excessive wait times, not even after we waited over 10 minutes just to get water. She did repeatedly asked if we "needed anything else" while we were still waiting on food. Like, yes, we needed the food we already ordered? Overall, the experience felt extremely disorganized and uncaring from both the service staff and the kitchen. What's especially disappointing is that this wasn't our first bad experience here. This is now the second visit in a row where we've dealt with extremely slow service and a noticeable lack of attentiveness (last time we were there they forgot some food, not only ours but also a table next to us). This place used to be good, which makes the decline even more frustrating, the kitchen needs an overhaul or something. Sushi is good and not as slow but ordering anything from the kitchen or getting drinks is like pulling teeth to get. Sushi Love isn't a huge restaurant, so it's hard to understand how things have become this disorganized. We gave the restaurant another chance hoping things would improve, but this was by far the worst experience we've had here.

The restaurant wasn't that busy for the lunch rush, and the waitress was very attentive and helpful. The only downsides I experienced was that there was no hot water running in the bathroom that I could tell, and no paper towels were available to dry my hands or open the bathroom door with. I also had a small fly hovering around me while I ate (I was inside). Thinking about this experience a little deeper however (after the bill) changed things for me a bit. Was the food okay? Yes, I think... Was it noteworthy? Not really. The stacks of premade rolls sitting on the counter made me think twice about ever eating here again. I paid around $45 for lunch after tax and tip. I ordered 6 pieces of nigiri, a tempura roll, a small bowl of miso soup, and an iced tea. I don't consider this anything crazy or over the top. Given this price point I expect hot water and paper towels in the bathrooms, especially if employees who are handling our food use those facilities. 1-star, won't be back... oh, and the soy sauce bottle was literally stuck to the counter. I had to pry it off.
