We came here for my daughter's 13th birthday. We were seated immediately. Both the sushi and the Teppanyaki were delicious. Our chef Jerry was funny and kept entertained. My chicken teriyaki was Excellent. The restaurant is very clean. This will be our new Teppanyaki spot. read more

Terrible. They sat the wrong sushi in front of us. We waited to tell them it was wrong. They said to keep it and we won't change us. They ended up charging us for the 3 other rolls. The food was good but the hostess who was working the night of 1/14/26 had a very bad attitude. When we arrived and I told her it was my wife's birthday and we had reservations, she simply told us to sit down and wait for our table. When we were leaving and I thanked her and told her we enjoyed our meals she said "The front door is over there" You can't justify it by saying she was busy because she was all by herself up front and it was not a busy night. That was our go to spot for special occasions but now we won't go back not just because of that hostess but because apparently this restaurant is comfortable hiring people like this. Showed up with a party of 9, expected to wait as usual with a big group. We were quoted 45min around 6:10pm. We checked on our wait halfway through and they said about 25 more minutes so we were ok with waiting a little longer. Then after waiting for over an hour we were told it would be "about the same wait time" because the table in front of us only had drinks. We were not willing to wait yet another 45min to an hour after already waiting an hour when originally quoted 45min. We work in the industry so we are usually understanding but there's no excuse for being quoted 45min, then waiting an hour, then being told it'll be another 45min to an hour. We understand they cannot rush other guests but why quote 45min to begin with? read more

Believe the bad reviews. Came here for lunch with my husband, brother in law, sister in law, and all our kids. Took about 30 minutes to get our water. The drinks and beer we ordered never came. When my husband was eating his fried rice, I saw a long disgusting hair in there. I wish I remembered our servers name. He was a man with dark short hair. But he was not attentive to us at all. Two couples who came in after us, got their food and drinks before we did and finished before we even got our entrees. Just ridiculous. Would never go here again or recommend this place to anyone. My experience here was absolutely horrendous, the bad service was laughable. First of all, we had a reservation at 6 and didn't get sat until 6:20. While waiting, went to the bar and met with an extremely crappy attitude. We sat there for another 30 minutes until the chef showed up. The entire night, our server checked on one couple and completely ignored us. We asked several times for napkins and waters, and didn't receive it until the end. Same with the soup and salad, never received it, even though it's a part of the cost of the combinations. Waited abt 30 minutes for a check, never received it. We had to get up to ask for the check, boxes, and still had to wait for another 15 minutes. Had the audacity to try to charge automatic gratuity. Servers name was "Brent". I order 3 plates to got up charged for modifications and they still messed up all 3 of my plates and because I ordered 45 minutes before closing so they ended up rushing my food all the plates were flavorless it's liked if they boiled the steak it came out gray no sear or whatsoever . Pretty Good! I came with my Mom for dinner. I order the Chicken Katsu, and fried tofu and my mom got the lobster rolls and we shared the spicy garlic Edamame and tempura. I really enjoyed the food. The edamame was spicier than I thought but it was still good. Our server was really nice and gave us really good service. Im surprised that this place has a large number of 1 stars because I really liked the food and had a nice server. Maybe next time hopefully we will do the Hibachi grill. read more

Me and my children got a table for thtee and we waited THIRTY MINUTES to get water served to us and a waiter to come and ask us if we wanted a drink or anything, but there was absolutely nothing. We ended up leaving after 45 minutes of waiting and when we told them about it, all they said was "sorry, but I hope y'all have a good night." Absolutely ridiculous. read more

I'm obsessed with the yellowtail carpaccio. Spicy, flavorful, and I crave it every day!!!! We also had the ah-so roll, the rainbow roll, and the spicy yellow tail roll. All of which we get again. When I called to make a reservation for 9, I was surprised when it was explained in detail how and why they do not take reservations. Also, our party of 9 had to all be at the restaurant before we could be seated at a Teppanyaki table. Now this explanation was done in a polite manner even to the point of being educational. Amazingly enough we all arrived by 6:05 and were greeted with smiles by Andy and Sloan. While we were assembling our group Crystal (manager) Showed up she was wonderful in making us feel welcomed. We accepted her offer of refrigerating our little bundtini cakes while we ate dinner . Now we continued our celebration with style when we had Michael our server and Chef Eddie assigned to take care of us. They truly became a part of our celebration. 8 out of 9 of us were able to catch a tossed veggie in our mouths, which added to the laughter. Yep, I was the failure. The food, drinks and price were all great. Thanks to Crystal and her team for making our son's 30 a night to remember. We will be back. read more

Pleasantly surprised. My family showed up on the fly on a Saturday evening for a birthday party, all 9 of us and were fortunate to be seated within ten minutes of arrival. The support crew, hosts, busers, and manager who was elbow deep in work with his crew were all very nice and efficient. Menu was pretty vast with offerings for everyone. Food was amazing. Prices were fair. The chef was engaging & actually funny. We all had a great time. We liked this spot better than our old standby. The facilities were very clean. My husband and two boys are regulars- they went there had to wait 60 minutes for their sushi while they watched 4-5 other two tops get their sushi. When they asked the owner why, his response was they ordered 6 rolls and the other tables only ordered one or two per table. My math shows 4x2=8 or 5x2=10 rolls and those four- five tables were more important than my families order of 6. The owner came to the table and told my husband he would comp the 3 cheap rolls but not the 3 expensive rolls. My husband asked why bc they were all 60 minutes wait time. My husband said "No- comp them all or take them back". The owner took the sushi rolls off the table and threw them away instead of having common customer service etiquette to retain customers. We decided to come by here first dinner after trying the pizza place next door. There was no wait time(Tuesday night) the Food was great we ordered chicken teriyaki plate with fried rice and veggies and a sushi tuna roll. Service was great our waiter Brad was very nice, very talkative and observant to our needs, he kept checking on us when he saw from a distance like a hawk that our drinks were low and he brought us a refill right away, like a hawk! We frequent the other Ah-So locations pretty regularly and haven't ever had major complaints. We moved and this was the nearest location to our new home so we ordered take out tempanyaki. The food was incredibly bland- a complete lack of any seasoning. The lack of salt was especially odd given they usual use of soy sauce in the cooking when we dine in. They steak wasn't seared in any fashion and was grey looking. Shrimp also had no color on them. I called and spoke to the manager who said he was busy and took my number to call me back but I never received a call back. To spend over $80 for poorly cooked and under-seasoned food is pretty disappointing. I won't return to this location. If you are looking for tempanyaki I would recommend the location on Bell or Happy Valley. read more

The restaurant gives you the choice to eat at your own table or a bigger table with a chef cooking for you. If you get the bigger table, you should being a lot of friends/families to fill in the 9 other seats. It's like watching a show of what happens in the kitchen right in front of you.
