We went before a concert. It was a 45 minute wait which is totally understandable. However, based on the service from checking in with the host to the server to the food, it's clear the wait is so long because they are very dysfunctional. The food came out luke warm and they never brought out my California Rolls until I asked and it was blamed on the chef. My drink was never refilled until I was finished eating. I rarely ever saw the server to even ask. At the end, the manager came around and said she heard I wanted to talk to her and I never asked for a manager. It seems they can't even send a manager to the right table and I'm sure whoever did ask for a manager is even more frustrated. Also, major warning: if you are prone to vertigo, DO NOT go in the women's restroom. Nothing in the room is straight. I wish someone would have warned me because I came out dizzy and nauseous. Had dinner before the Bruno Mars concert across the street. Thankfully we made reservations and they were able to hold it with a 15-minute grace period as we had a lot of traffic to go thru. We made it to our 6pm reservation and were seated within a minute or 2. I heard a walk-in probably had to wait 30-40 minutes. The place was packed as it's in an outdoor shopping area with lots of restaurants & shops and probably other concert goers were there too. We were seated at a booth and it was definitely bustling. Our server, Audrey helped us and we took a few minutes to decide. I was only in the mood for Miso Soup, Green Salad with a Ginger dressing and hot, white rice. My cousins ordered the Sushi Moriawase, Sesame Chicken and Chirashi "Kaisen Don" type of bowls We also had an order of Jumbo Scallops with Mushrooms and hot, Green Tea for the table. We placed our orders & they came shortly thereafter. We had to ask for utensils and napkins as they weren't provided once we were seated. A couple of times my cousin had to ask for hotter tea as it was warm and I ended up asking for hot water on the side. My cousin liked her sushi platter and I liked my comfort food, esp. the refreshing salad! I would order that again! My other cousins ate their bowls but one mentioned to me later on that she felt a little sick when we got to the concert. I was wondering why she was a little quiet! She thinks the fish wasn't that fresh. We paid our bills on the hand-held device and left. Seems more like a Japanese restaurant more for the modern, upbeat ambiance than for quality and service. They are located in the Westgate entertainment district upstairs near the water fountains. They have a nice large outdoor space and an indoor area with a bar. Of course I had ordered carry out and it was ready on time. They're carry out presentation includes all of the sauces on the side and also ginger, soy, and wasabi. It was packaged very nicely. A friend and I were recently in the area for a concert and decided to grab an early dinner here before the show. After looking over the menu, I ordered the garlic asparagus salmon roll and the unagi bowl. My friend ordered her own sushi and main entrée. The garlic asparagus salmon roll was the better of the two. The roll was nicely balanced with a light amount of crunch to it. In one or two roll pieces, the asparagus was a bit tough. The unagi bowl was decent, it was a nice surprise to have more items in the bowl than the usual unagi don you see at some other places here. We came around 4 p.m. and were able to be seated right away. Unfortunately, service was a bit slow and unorganized. Our server took a long time to take our order, and we were never given ginger or wasabi or a cup for our soy sauce to go with the sushi we ordered. Additionally, our entrees did not come out around the same time. My friend's sushi roll and main entrée came out way before mine did and by the time mine came out, she was already done with her meal. You can tell the restaurant has been around for a while from the wear and tear of their interior. I would say skip the hot entrees and stick to the sushi. The sushi was of better quality, which was decent. If you're in the area for an event, and looking to grab a meal, this place fulfills its purpose well. I would just recommend coming a little earlier to make sure you get to the event on time. read more

We arrived soon after the restaurant opened for the day. There was a short 15 minute wait. We were seated and our drink order was taken right away. Once the drinks arrived, our food order was taken. Half of the order arrived quickly. The other half sat on the bar until we told the server that it had been sitting there for a while. The sashimi was frozen in the middle. The bathroom here is crazy. You get dizzy the moment you walk in. Several children were crying because of the confusion of the mismatched lines. One child was getting motion sickness because of the lines. It was awful! Best late night sushi happy hour menu! Deals for drinks, apps and even speciality roles. You name it. The bar staff were friendly and fun. They offered some suggestions to help with my indecisive nature because I just want to order one of everything. The calamari was cooked perfect so it wasn't chewy and the sauce that comes with it adds a little razzle dazzle if you're in the mood. Feel free to eat them just as they come because they are delicious. The shrimp tempura roll did not disappoint and also had crab with avocado that are some of my faves to order. One of my favorite Asian spots in Arizona! It is located on the second floor of the Westgate Entertainment District. Parking can be slightly difficult especially on the weekends since it's shared with many other restaurants but the parking lot is really big! They also have meat dishes, ramen, and combination plates (perfect if you want some beef/chicken and some sushi!) I usually get the beef and chicken teriyaki combo and it comes with veggie tempuras, 3 pieces of California roll, and a salad for $21.45! I would say it's 7/10 The beef teriyaki is soometimes too chewy and not tender enough and the chicken is usually a little too dry and rough. The sauce used is a tad sweet and salty and tastes pretty good. The salad is your typical garden salad and the greens are usually pretty fresh. The California rolls are your standard rolls and nothing too special. The tempura is perfectly fried and super crispy without being too oily or greasy. I order from myself and my kids to have my waitress Tell me I can't order from the kids menu for my daughter who is 12 because it's for kids. That I've always order it. He says "I'm the new manager now and I'm changing everything here". I was about to get up to Leave but then he said I will honor it this time but just to let you know the next time you come in, we will not honor it so as long as we're clear on this. so I'm like OK?! so I get my order and I ordered the cilantro albacore roll and there's a sauce that comes with it that it's usually more of a lemony taste. This one has spice to it. I told the waitress is this the same sauce they usually use for it. She leaves the table immediately brings a manager back again to tell me that this is how it's supposed to be made and they weren't making it correctly before and I'm like really?! she couldn't just tell me that herself. It was so awkward at this point. I just wanted to hurry up and eat and leave then when my check came, I gave her my phone number and before I was gonna pay I go oh, I have another phone number because I have a birthday rewards possibly on my account of course, her English isn't so good so she leaves and the manager come back again for the third time. "I'm gonna have to charge you double"but what is it. I'm like I just wanted to see if I had a birthday reward on my other account. "when is your birthday" and I told him oh it's in May he proceeds to say "it's only good for that month". So rude. I signed my check and immediately left of my two daughters who are 12 and 13 I feel they should have waitresses who speak better English and they can handle the situation for himself and the manager coming out so aggressively and eyeballing me and not to flinch so I would doubt what he says is unheard of. I love this place, ambiance is always good. They greet you as you walk in and the sushi chefs yell something when people come in. Service was great as usual I have never had inconveniences with a server in this location. Food is delicious as usual my favorite is hibachi rice or spicy beef Ramen. I do think that they need to go easy on the ice with the drink specifically my margaritas. No joke but there was more ice than drink in my glass. Also this is the location that serves in a margarita glass rather than a short regular glass.
