Been to Kanuki now before a game and just for fun, parking is easy and free (register for free pn event days and/or get validation) Fresh sushi, huge bar selection and large menu book. Not liking the fake krab, Kabuki lists all thier ingredients on the menu, making it easy to navigate around the krab. Their rolls are always sized nicely, even on happy hour specials. Lots of wasabi and ginger Service is great, plates cleaned away quickly and water refilled constantly. Seating is large and varied, eat outside, booths, tables or sushi bar. Came in with my partner for late night happy hour on a weekday. Upon walking in, the hostess did not greet us and waited for another staff member to seat us. We sat at the booth closest to the front door - the interior is cute, but looks cheap. The wooden tables are not high end and we were disappointed with this restaurant before we even ordered anything. We ordered miso soup to start - so salty, mushy tofu, did not finish. We ordered two rolls. Both seemed to be a decent serving size, but the pieces were rice heavy. The fish itself seemed.... fishy. Definitely did not taste like real salmon or tuna; we're from a city with fresh seafood, and I'm not surprised that this fish did not taste right. I doubt they get fresh fish flown in and likely use previously frozen items, where you can taste the difference. The wasabi obviously came out of a tube instead of fresh wasabi, another red flag. The only saving grace was their cocktail menu. Come here for drinks and skip the meal, save yourself the disappointment. Based on other reviews, some of their other menu items might make up for the poor sushi, but we will not be returning. read more

Came in for dinner after some shopping. Haven't visited in a while, ordered a spicy beef ramen with shrimp fried rice, my food was delicious. It was a little busier as we left we beat the dinner rush I think but we sat with Bou, I hope I spelled it right, but he was so attentive, I know he was busy, had a big party in our section but he continued to check on us. A friend and I were recently in the area for a concert and decided to grab an early dinner here before the show. After looking over the menu, I ordered the garlic asparagus salmon roll and the unagi bowl. My friend ordered her own sushi and main entrée. The garlic asparagus salmon roll was the better of the two. The roll was nicely balanced with a light amount of crunch to it. In one or two roll pieces, the asparagus was a bit tough. The unagi bowl was decent, it was a nice surprise to have more items in the bowl than the usual unagi don you see at some other places here. We came around 4 p.m. and were able to be seated right away. Unfortunately, service was a bit slow and unorganized. Our server took a long time to take our order, and we were never given ginger or wasabi or a cup for our soy sauce to go with the sushi we ordered. Additionally, our entrees did not come out around the same time. My friend's sushi roll and main entrée came out way before mine did and by the time mine came out, she was already done with her meal. You can tell the restaurant has been around for a while from the wear and tear of their interior. I would say skip the hot entrees and stick to the sushi. The sushi was of better quality, which was decent. If you're in the area for an event, and looking to grab a meal, this place fulfills its purpose well. I would just recommend coming a little earlier to make sure you get to the event on time. read more

We placed our orders & they came shortly thereafter. We had to ask for utensils and napkins as they weren't provided once we were seated. A couple of times my cousin had to ask for hotter tea as it was warm and I ended up asking for hot water on the side. My cousin liked her sushi platter and I liked my comfort food, esp. the refreshing salad! I would order that again! My other cousins ate their bowls but one mentioned to me later on that she felt a little sick when we got to the concert. I was wondering why she was a little quiet! Staying at a hotel near this restaurant for a conference and had the ability to order online. Sometimes I wonder if I'm crazy to order sushi in the desert but then I think everybody's getting their fish flown in regardless. They are located in the Westgate entertainment district upstairs near the water fountains. They have a nice large outdoor space and an indoor area with a bar. I would say it's 7/10 The beef teriyaki is soometimes too chewy and not tender enough and the chicken is usually a little too dry and rough. The sauce used is a tad sweet and salty and tastes pretty good. The salad is your typical garden salad and the greens are usually pretty fresh. The California rolls are your standard rolls and nothing too special. The tempura is perfectly fried and super crispy without being too oily or greasy. My friend who is also Japanese recommended this place for sushi in the west valley so I gave it a try with takeout. I loved that they had different sushi for each of the moriawase. Service was great as usual I have never had inconveniences with a server in this location. Food is delicious as usual my favorite is hibachi rice or spicy beef Ramen. I do think that they need to go easy on the ice with the drink specifically my margaritas. No joke but there was more ice than drink in my glass. Also this is the location that serves in a margarita glass rather than a short regular glass.
