We had a fantastic experience at Ah Hai Sushi and Grill! Ah Hai is a dine in restaurant in the Target Center at Cotton Lane and Yuma. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our server was at our table immediately after we were seated. She was friendly and was on top of everything we needed. My wife ordered the Hibachi chicken and raved about it. This is the best sushi on the west side of Phoenix and the prices and service are equally good! Always fresh, clean and delicious. If you live in Goodyear and you haven't been here yet, I don't know what you are doing with your life. They could stand to make it more modern looking, needs a little refresh, but doesn't even matter to me, the food is outstanding! The non sushi items are also tasty, particularly the hibachi's. Went for lunch. they have a regular menu and some specials which my husband and I both tried. The Mongolian beef with broccoli; which they made extra spicy for me as I asked...it was perfect! My husband had the Pad Thai with chicken, no spice level. Appetizers were shared eggroll (2) and chicken dumplings (6). Complimentary miso broth/soup was offered while we waited for our appitizers. Service was great, not hovering but def checking to make sure every thing was satisfactory. We've been eating at this restaurant for at least 10 years. I placed an order for delivery and was so shocked to get this HORRIBLE meal! They raised the prices which is understandable, but the portion sizes are about half of what they used to be. It used to be $15-ish for 6 pieces of salmon sashimi. They changed the price to $10 for 3. The tempura was dried out and shriveled up. My husband said the combo fried rice was good but he didn't get very much for the price. I'm so beyond disappointed right now. Maybe you'll have better luck if you eat in but otherwise skip it. Not sure if there is new management but I am sad to lose a good restaurant from my rotation. read more

I am so disappointed to write this. I moved from out of state for work and this was my sushi spot for amazing sushi for years. I am not sure what happened but this places quality took a huge dive. I've ordered the Sadona roll about 10+ times, and I've loved it every single time except the last few times. I ordered the usual, and last few times it did not taste fresh AT ALL. I brushed it off as bring a one off, but I ordered it again last night and it was sooooo fishy and disgusting. I took one bite and spit the tuna out. Fresh tuna is NOT supposed to taste fishy.... I tasted my boyfriend's meal to see if his was any better, my boyfriend got these beef strips with green onion in it. It was so flavorless and watery. He ate a few of them and stopped eating. I told the waitress about it, because I don't know, maybe the batch of fish they don't have? She stated that it is made of imitation crab, implying that imitation crab isnt fishy.. but imitation crab is STILL fish. Imitation crab is made of surimi, and can still go rancid, or maybe even the shrimp that comes in the Sadona roll ... But regardless it was the tuna that tasted foul..... Don't get me wrong, she was nice this is not dissing her. Nothing was her fault and the service was good, I'm just correcting what she stated. This meal was $50 down the drain and I'm so disappointed. :( I can't recommend this place anymore.... It sucks because I live near by. I think I'll be going to Harumi in Peoria for my sushi from now on. I will not be returning, they lost a regular. read more

Really good! I came with my friend and I got the pork katsu and cucumber rolls. The katsu came with miso soup and a side salad. I loved the miso soup but I did not care for the dressing that came on my salad. The pork katsu was very good and I actually did not expect to eat the entire thing. The cucumber rolls were also good and fortunate for me because I am not a huge fan of seafood! Definitely coming back here with my family someday! read more

We moving to Phoenix, might be are new stumping ground near Buckeye. I have eaten sushi all over this beautiful state. Typically, it's over priced and sub par quality. This cute little joint was wildly unassuming. I was immediately impressed because it was quite busy for a Thursday at 11am. Very attentive and quick staff. The sushi linch menu was ONLY $12 for a salad (with an amazing dressing), miso soup, and 2 rolls. That's value people. My husband and I also got the gyoza, which were definitely hand made and not some factory frozen bs. Overall, the food was scrumptious and unbelievably well priced. #1 sushi hands down, this is our favorite spot, they have a great variety of rolls and plates for everyone. Our favorites are the Hawaii and Sky roll. The staff is always friendly, keep an eye out for reservations though, we strongly encourage making one especially on the weekends the wait time does take a while for walk ins. read more

My sisters and I had lunch here today. The food was good but we were shocked when we got our bills. Here's what happened next...My sister ordered a cup of tea. A full pot of tea was set on the table. I asked for a cup for tea also. My sister was charged $6.50 for her tea and I was charged for $3.25 for my cup of tea also. Same pot same tea. When my sister approached the Manager she was told that they charge per cup for the tea. I just checked their menu prices and there's no tea charge. My sister challenged her by saying we got the same tea, same pot but she wouldn't change a thing. Oh by the way, my other sister joined us a bit later and had tea but wasn't charged because they charged my other sister for hers. CRAZY. No price for Tea on the menu but beware, you will be charged for the TEA!!!!!!! No more tea for me here! read more
