Have had MTJTT on the todo list for a while now. Following them on Instagram and the food always…read morelooked great. So it was a big disappointment today when driving over half an hour to get bad bbq. Starting with the good, the hamburger patties were the best meat in the meal. Followed by the tritip which was on the Mac and cheese. The brisket on the burger was really dry. It needed bbq sauce to get down. The ribs looked like they were cremated. I know some people dig "bark." But there was more bark than meat and the ribs were tough. The potato salad was pretty bland. And the Mac and cheese was as well. Even tge bbq sauce seemed plain. It was just a bad experience for as much as we spent. Maybe if they were closer id try again. But at between the distance and price, we won't be back.

We were really looking forward to dining here and wanted to like it, but left disappointed. My first gripe with them is they do not have a posted menu anywhere but at their window, so you basically don't have access to the menu until you get up to order. It was our first time so we had no idea what we wanted. I felt rushed once it was our turn to order. Secondly, the food itself is underwhelming. We got the 1/2 rack of ribs, potato salad, BBC burger, and the tri tip mac and cheese. Upon opening the container with the ribs, I was immediately disappointed. Their bbq has very thick bark on it, as in the whole entire rack of ribs looked like it was cremated! There was more bark than there was meat, which made the majority of it very dry. I threw half of it away. The potato salad was undercooked and just meh. It didn't have much flavor. The BBC burger did have plenty of the brisket, but the brisket was also dry. My husband said the best part of it was the beef patty. The tri tip Mac and cheese was edible, but nothing extraordinary. They threw on some meat, bbq sauce, and canned jalapeños. Overall, we spent $50 and drove 40 minutes for bad bbq. We love supporting local businesses and don't mind spending our hard earned money on good food, but this place was not it. Many people seem to like it, but if you've had good bbq, you may agree with us!

It was so good with the fries, easily a 10/10. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Couldn't have asked for a better lunch break. Definitely coming back!

Was looking for a taco spot in town after work and this hidden gem kept popping up everywhere. What…read morecaught my eye were the wet burritos and wet tortas -- those pictures looked way too good to ignore. So today I finally gave this taco joint a shot. Right away the service stood out. The person at the front was friendly, professional, and super helpful with recommendations. You can also see the taco man in the back making sure everything comes out fresh and cooked perfectly. The setup is small but cozy, tucked inside a store with a few tables and a TV. Definitely the kind of spot you sit down and enjoy instead of rushing out. Now the wet burrito... my LORD. That's what a burrito is supposed to be. Packed with flavorful meat, loaded with sauce, and they absolutely do not skimp on portions. Every bite was fire and I still had enough left over to take home. If you're in Madera, stop wasting time searching for tacos or burritos elsewhere. This hidden gem just became my new go-to spot.
