I LOVE MTJTT! When I go, I get tri tip and/or the brisket by the 1/2 pound. Both have perfect texture, great flavor. The smoke ring on the tri tip and the bark on the brisket are impressive. And it's never dry, like some smoked meat can be. For those mentioning price, they're cheaper than their competitors, for a better product. If you go buy a tri tip to cook at home, it'll be around $30 for one roast. Brisket is even higher. Then consider the process to smoke it can take half a day or more. MTJTT isn't cheap, but it's not a rip off. It's a fair price for what you're getting. The location is good, close to everything in the city, but off on a side street, so it's more peaceful without having to drive forever to get there. I've been there a couple times now on triple-digit days, and there's always a nice comfortable breeze in the covered area. I hope they catch on, and expand. I'm a huge fan! read more

Unfortunately not what we remembered. Macaroni and cheese had no sauce, no flavor, and tasted like salted pasta. The corn was so salty that it was inedible. The meat was tender but very peppery, close to being too peppery to eat. The amount of food is also not worth the price. Sad to see things have gone downhill since our last visit. read more

First time trying this place, they didn't have a menu up. The only sides they did have were corn and Mac and cheese. I ordered the tri-tip sandwich with Mac and cheese. There was a line right at opening. The service was decent. About 25 mins. The tritip was well seasoned. The bread was overpowering. Strong yeast taste. I did try to mask the taste with the bbq sauce but it didn't help. The mac and cheese was bland and was small portion with a $22 price tag. Overall I don't feel the sandwich with the Mac and cheese was worth the high price. Maybe if it came with another side or a bigger portion of the Mac and cheese and or a drink. Welllll... Previous posts by MTJTT showed baked potatoes-NOPE, banana pudding-NOPE, elote grilled corn-NOPE. Got an ok sandwich (could have gotten same plain sandwich IN Fresno!) Final insult was being charged an extra dollar for BBQ sauce. Really! The staff were nice & apologetic for all the things they didn't have. More Than Just The Tip A food truck that serves BBQ in the City of Madera, mostly on the weekends from what I've seen on their Instagram. They post the dates, hours of operation, and any specials on IG. The truck will remain open until it sells out. It was my first visit. I was looking to buy a whole tri-tip because a storm was rolling through and I was supposed to BBQ for dinner. The owner told me each sandwich has a half pound of meat and that he would sell me tri-tip and brisket by the pound. I purchased 2 lbs. (four sandwiches worth) of tri-tip for $40 and a 1/2 lb of brisket for $17.50. Both meats had good flavor and were not overcooked. The tri-tip was sliced thin and the brisket was tender. They sell sandwiches piled with meat too. I saw them making the sandwiches at the window and they looked good. I'd try one on my next visit. read more

My husband and I went today and arrived 20 minutes before they opened so we could not have to wait in long line. My husband was order #1 and had to wait while 4 other orders were done before ours mind you we had basic on the menu easy items. We waited 25 minutes after they opened to finally get our order. We were so frustrated with the service we wont be returning and it angers me because the food is really amazing. read more

Best brisket ever! The side dish of corn or mac & cheese is really not necessary. The sandwich alone is worth the $18 price.

The food is amazing here but you got to get there early or you will not end up with anything. They sell out quick.

Not going to lie, I was pretty disappointed. I first tried More Than Just The Tip a couple years ago because a friend of mine recommended it. I ordered the Tomb Stone with Brisket and instantly fell in love. The brisket was soft, tender, juicy, melt in your mouth. The smoke ring and the bark was perfect, everything you want in a brisket and then some. I found my self so full that I couldn't even finish the sandwich. Fast forward to today, I ordered the same exact sandwich, and let's just say the experience was no where near the same. Not only was the Sandwich about half the size as I remember, but I ended up spending just under five dollars more than I had originally paid a couple years ago. Now I understand running a business is a difficult endeavour and not for the faint of heart. The economy is rough right now and prices go up accordingly, but that doesn't mean you should sacrifice not only quality but quantity as well. The Brisket this time around had a very small smoke ring, it was not very tender, the bark was kinda sad, and very under salted. I finished the Sandwich in a little under ten minutes and honestly I was still a little hungry. Sad to say I won't be a return customer. I really hope once they get the restaurant up and running they can focus on the quality and quantity a little more, but almost thirty dollars for a single sandwich with some mediocre bland Mac n cheese is not okay. I'd also like to note when I went a couple years ago the BBQ sauce tasted like it was made from scratch and very close to a Texas style BBQ sauce, very thin and vinegary. I know that's not everyone's cup of tea, but to me it really added to the authenticity of the place. This time around I saw the owner walk around with a big jug of sweet baby rays in his hand. I went yesterday with my boyfriend because we saw a TikTok praising this place. I wish I took pictures first, but we were just on the road trying to get something quick and go back to Fresno. But it was pretty disappointing for a barbecue place. I got the tri-tip sandwich It was pretty good. I would give it a solid seven, it was a little bit small for being 16 dollars with a side and I got a side of street corn and it was cold as ice I'm not sure if it was supposed to be cold but it was. My boyfriend got the half brisket half tri-tip sandwich, I took one bite of it, and the brisket was dry I could barely chew it. He got a side of mac & cheese it was ok, I took a bite right when we sat down cause I just wanted one since I'm lactose intolerant and it was more room temperature not even hot. We got our food pretty fast, within five minutes of ordering it, we were the only ones there. But I would say it was not worth it at all, for $40 for two plates that came with a sandwich side and we bought one drink. read more
