Coming from a small town I try to always support local businesses. Service was good. But before entering please read the handmade signs outside before you enter. They charge you extra if you use a credit card or get anything to go. Food is nothing to brag about but nothing really to complain about. It was ok. Salsa was not chopped or blended. Big hunks of onion in salsa was a turn off. Sadly probably won't eat here again. read more

This is one of the better Mexican restaurants in the Toledo bend area. El Patio gets all the notoriety because it's right there in Toledo town but if you're on the Texas side, or near the bridge then head to El Tio. Their salsa is a warm salsa, it's quick good food. My only complaint is that sometimes it's hard to get your ticket when they are busy, ie weekend, but they just have you walk up tot the counter and they get you checked out pretty fast. read more

Have been here many times now and my food has always been good and the service has always been great. This place offers a variety of Tex-Mex options and a few other things as well like burgers. Because it's the only Mexican restaurant in town it's always busy. The salsa is served warm but has a good kick to it. At most, the food here is sufficient. It's not bad, but I would never say it's good. The service we received was fine, the staff was friendly and relatively prompt. My family ordered a variety of dishes; enchiladas, taco salad, soft tacos, chimichanga and tacos al carbon. We all reached the same conclusion: edible, but that's about it. The only reason that this meal was memorable was because my dad got food poisoning from his chimichanga. If you absolutely must have Mexican food, stop there at your own peril, if you are hungry and literally anything will do; yeah, fine, maybe go there. Or you could just go to the Dairy Queen that shares the same parking lot. That's my recommendation. read more

The price is fair and they have over 55 different foods in the menu. They have many options for drinks and desserts too. They also have vegetarian options in the menu. I love El Tio's salsa, the make it home made and it is always very good. Their tacos are also very good. Well everything on the menu is good but I have my favorites: The Taco's, Chile Relleno with either ground beef or fajita beef and covered with chili con queso, their enchiladas. I always get a taco on the side with the Chile Relleno covered with Queso. One of their margaritas is a good choice for a drink. I'm getting hungry writing this review. BRB LOL read more

WARNING - do not pay at this establishment with a credit or debit card!! They will run your card through several times and tell you the charge didn't go through. This happebed to me, I ended up having to walk to the ATM down the street to get cash so I could pay for my meal, got my bank statement and there we were multiple charges. They will give you the run around when you try to resolve the matter with them... the owner will never be there (and evidently he is the only one who can't resolve the issue). Salsa was great, Service sucked and I'm pretty sure the ground beef is Corn beef hash

We ordered 2 burritos and 2 tacos. The chips seemed old and hard. The salsa was warm and not cold like most places. We had to fight the flies off our table the entire time we were there. The food was very bland and not the cheese seemed like just store bought America cheese. I found some foreign object in my burrito that I could have broke my tooth. The only reason I gave two stars was our tacos were pretty good. However, I wouldn't go back. read more
