Wow. What a hidden gem here at the Wyndham. I'm a;ways a bit skeptical of far flung outposts of…read moreestablished eateries and am usually disappointed but that was not the case at all here. The service was quite good. There was a bit of a pause between the apps and main but nothing excessive. The apps The scallops and mofogo. The scallops were nicely seared and the large pieces of bacon with the mofogo were fantastic. The deviled eggs according to my son were "fire" which is teen speak for awesome The wedge salad had copious chunks of thick cut bacon, corn, avocado, blue cheese and tomatoes. I'm in nitpicking territory here but the dressing seemed a bit thin and the corn seemed out of place. EDIT. I looked at the parent restaurant in NYC and the wedge there has grilled corn which would have worked better imho. Mains The seared snapper was again fantastic. Super fresh and by the way half of the freaking fish. It was huge the sauce on top which was tartar like and the ? Green sauce on the side complimented the fish. Served on a bed of mash which was wrapped in carrot and zucchini slices was also perfect Shrimp and grits. Again off the hook. The grits were smooth and creamy and the shrimp was perfectly cooked. The accompanying broth was super flavorful. I wanted a second plate Fried chicken. Again according to my son "fire. Crispy skin, moist juicy chicken, perfectly fried it was some of the best I have had. The hot sauce and maple vinegar were also great. Sides Mac and cheese. With a corn bread crumble it was also as good as everything else. Waffles. Savory mini waffles with cheese. Put the maple vinegar on them and you will want to order more.

This open aired, ocean side restaurant was a great find! The staff were super friendly and…read moreattentive. The restaurant had a small crowd but we still made reservations. I would imagine this place would be packed in the high season. Be warned there is only one blender so it takes a while to get drinks... and I definitely recommend their frozen coconut mojito. We ordered the ceviche appetizer and that alone was worth the drive. I know we had other appetizers but I honestly cannot remember them due to the amazing mess of the ceviche. For the mains I think my steak with cilantro rice, was the best meal of the night. The rest of the table had hog fish, rice and beans, tostones, and lobster which were enjoyed by all.

We do travel with a wheelchair. The server was very good and well knowledgeable on the menu. He was even photographed in the menu. We ordered a couple cocktails as well as many appetizers. We didn't order any entrees, as our family likes to try many things. My wife's favorite is ceviche and she was impressed by this dish. (Order it) We also ordered fish bites. Solid choice as the guava sauce was memorable. La arepas de coconut. Solid. The fish empanadas were great. Definitely order those. But calamari was chewy and overcooked. I'd pass on this. Cocktails were amazing. Spicy margarita is spicy!! I had a mojito which was delicious. You won't go wrong with any cocktail. Server was great. He did mention to me that we should order soon as the kitchen will get busy. We waited as we were enjoying our dinner. (We didn't have any problems) I'd go back. I'd also suggest sticking to your plan. It's your evening and don't let service control the experience. At the end of it...you control the tip = thank you.
