I loved this hidden little gem! We walked by with all intensions of dining at a different restaurant a few blocks down. We saw the beautiful patio here, and after 10 mins we turned around, abandoned our planned dinner, and walked right back to Patio de las Flores because the atmosphere and menu looked so much better than our original plan! We had such a great experience here. So glad we chose it on a whim! Such friendly staff, we were seated with flowers right away. How cute! The menu is by QR code, and was very fancy with cool demonstrations of how each fancy craft cocktail looked and was created. I loved this drink menu! I ordered the CREAM, which is Puerto Rican dark rum, cream liquor, and some cinnamon and spices. My drink was so amazing, I ordered 2! My friend also loved her drink, the Gitana Milk Punch (a gin, citrus, & herbs drink). Food was delicious. In order of favorites, we got: 1. Canones Cubanos - beef croquettes with an amazing sauce, wow, this was our all-time favorite of the night. 2. Asian Tartare - tuna tartare with ponzu and avocado sauce, which I absolutely loved. Amazing flavor and high quality ahi tuna. 3. Fish tacos - breaded wahoo fish tacos were not my favorite because I prefer blackened or grilled fish, but my friend really enjoyed these tacos a lot more than me. They are filling if you're hungry, then great order. 4. Montaditas - breaded eggplant with roasted veggies and vegan cheese, I really enjoyed this dish, but my friend thought it was a bit too bland. We were too full for dessert, but the menu looked amazing. Also, the prices were very reasonable for what you get. I thought a lot better than some neighboring over-priced hotel restaurants. Come to Patio de las Flores! Its such a cute, fun, delicious restaurant and bar, I'd love to see it stick around for years so I can come back next time I visit Puerto Rico!

Made reservations for Saturday evening at 730 for a party of 6. We were seated immediately upon arrival and all of our drink orders were taken quickly. The cocktails were delicious. I had the birds & bees. It didn't come in the bird glass, but did have a cute flower garnish. The whole table loved all of the drinks they ordered. For food, I had the spinach and feta empanada and the cubanitos. So good, both of them. The presentation for everything here is a 10/10 and the flavor and quality match. The pork on the cubans was so juicy and flavorful. The empanada has a great crunch and a spicy sauce on the plate. Would definitely recommend.

Stop looking I said STOP LOOKING, because you have found the bar that you DESPERATELY need to attend while you're in Puerto Rico. I was looking for bars close to my hotel & luckily I was literally walking distance to this amazing bar. It's so many amazing spots in the area so if you're ever in town I suggest staying somewhere near the Water & Beach club hotel because sooooo many things are in walking distance. Now let's get to what makes this bar special. 1st of all, when you enter you are greeted with a rose. I'm like hmmmm ok now the name makes sense. It's not a huge deal but little things like that is what separates a good bar from an amazing one. The next thing that I look for in my bars is having a little flash to a drink. Dont get me wrong, I love a basic drink SOMETIMES but if I'm on vacation or experimenting with a new bar I need you to show me something special. Patio de las flores will ABSOLUTELY show you something special. Now it's not enough to simply have a flashy drink. You need something with great presentation & have it taste amazing as well. Patio de las flores does just that in a BIG way. Everything I tried was perfection. The gypsy is probably my favorite drink simply because it tastes amazing & you get a tarot card to go with it and all of the smoke that comes out when you're pouring the drink ahhhhhh so cool. If I had to pick a close second it would be the Great Idea cocktail since they ask you to pop the bubble with the rose that you receive when you got in. I'm telling you, there are so many flashy drinks here but they don't lose quality which a lot of bars do. The birds and the bees cocktail is their staple so of course I had to try that & it was also delicious like the rest. The bartenders are also some really great people. I had some good talks with a few of them since I went twice while I was visiting. We were talking about the 50 best bars & how bars are holding up since covid. Really great people and very knowledgeable about the entire bar scene! I love this bar and I can't wait to come back!

Vibes are immaculate. Gorgeous space, great drinks and food. Servers are so nice and helpful. Can't wait to get back to PR so I can visit again!

i was looking for a good cocktail and yelp once again came through! Patio de las Flores is easy to miss, a hole in the wall place nestled between other businesses in a nondescript strip shopping center. Your first hint is the flower you receive from the host- and when you enter you feel like you're in a different dimension! the ambience is like a rainforest, cozy with dim lighting and really cool wallpaper. the music was really great 90s hip hop. but the drinks stole the show. everything was artfully crafted and beautifully presented. many of the cocktails include a "show" when they're delivered. service was excellent and this will be a place i return to every time i'm in San Juan. ps: reservations recommended!

Some of the best drinks I've ever had, and they are f*cking strong! I love the vibe of this place and our waiter was very chill. He kept recommending us drinks and we kept ordering till I was borderline drunk! The croquettas and other tapas were delicious as well!

This has so far been the highlight of my trip. We had stumbled in on a whim out of general curiosity, and it was just so breathtaking. Ambiance alone should stand for the craft at this bar. Service was excellent, drinks were phenomenal

Ever been greeted with flowers before entering a restaurant? 10/10 drinks! Beautiful presents for ALL of their cocktails! Just take a look at my bird glass! 9/10 Food. there's no entrees here just tapas. The tapas were absolutely delicious though! 10/10 ambiance. The music was great, the decorations were perfect, the lighting- everything.

This restaurant was conveniently across the street from our air b&b so we decided to check it out for dinner. First off, the servers were so friendly and I loved that we all got a flower when we arrived. However, I'm giving 3 stars based on the food. So if you want a place to get some cocktails and some small plates to eat while you drink, this place is good for that. For dinner with young kids ... not so much. Very limited menu. We ordered quite a few things and I really only liked the hummus and one of the empanadas. I did not like anything else. Unfortunate because the presentation of the food was lovely. But taste and good selection was not there.

How can you argue with perfection? This jewel of restaurant is a standout along the Isla Verde area know for upscale hotels and tourist fun. Like many San Juan tourists I set out to visit one of the restaurants mentioned as having iconic can't miss Puerto Rican specialties. When I passed by this location I stopped in my tracks. They have cute patio tables for al fresco dining and inside the restaurant it looks so welcoming. While I pondered if I should continue to my intended destination, the staff came out and welcomed me and explained their concept of craft cocktails. I decided to try one drink and one appetizer. I had passed many restaurants with menus like manuscripts so imagine my surprise when I was handed a menu with four drinks and four food items. WHAT? Is this the happy hour menu? No this was their specialty. I quickly revised my plan. Perfecto - special it was. I tried a cocktail and we had two of the tapas (small plates) options. The holy basil hand made cocktail had several layers of flavor but was so smooth I could see myself enjoying all four drinks. Lately I am on an elderflower liquor kick so this punched my ticket. I did ponder a second and talked with a table next to mine who ordered the other three drinks. The birds and bees came in a cute bird shaped glass and the gorilla slippers looks like a volcano on fire. Tasty and whimsical. Yes! For food we started with croquetas guisadas. These three delicately fried wonders were not your standard croquetas with chicken and ham. They were not greasy, but were moist and flavorful. The plates here have flowers and micro herbs. Art on a plate. I would order two of these because next time I am not sharing. My husband is a meat and potatoes kind of guy so the ceviche was probably not going to work. We went with the pechuga a la hawaiana. This seemed to me to be a roll of chicken with delicious sausage in the middle that is sliced and served with root vegetables and a pineapple based sauce. This was a larger plate and could be a meal for someone. We enjoyed this and even took leftovers back to our place. This plate also had a good assortment of flowers and little herbs. The interior is really two rooms. A bar area where it is entertaining to watch the bartender shake, rattle and roll. He puts on a good show while mixing concoctions. See my short video clip below. The main dining room has beautiful floral murals and inviting tables that also include half booths. We sat in this area and it felt upscale and trendy at the same time. Visiting Patio de las Flores was the highlight of my visit in San Juan. I told everyone I met (hotel clerk, shop owner, etc) about how great the food and drinks are and how this place is not to be missed.

Seriously beautiful interior. You are immersed in flowers and mood lighting. Service is good with friendly and attentive staff, and the food is really tasty. Dishes are mainly tapas style so make sure you order enough. We ordered the croquetas, empanada (1), ceviche, and the tartare. It was a good amount for 3, but if you're coming in really hungry this amount might be good for 2. All flavors were delicious and well balanced.

We were married in Zihuataneho Mexico, were spoiled with good Mexican food living in Chicago, and find after moving outside Nashville, we have craved better Mexican food, so we came here. Gina came to our table to make sure all was OK with wait staff, and food we were eating. Well, it was MORE than OK! Food was wonderful, made fresh, and all questions and requests were answered. She did make us feel like "old friends", and after a long incredible dinner, she offed us 2 tequila shots, and played our "special married song" for our special anniversary. We both had tears in our eyes as that was so special. She took photos for Facebook (but we do not belong) so we are hoping she texts them to my husband who gave her our number. Thank you Gina, all the people who took care of us. Please go there for an excellent meal, margaritas, and the best service. We are going to try to go back before this vacation ends. G&B

It was a little loud, but not too loud that we couldn't hear each other talking. Cute environment waitress was really friendly. It's somewhere I would revisit and recommend.

We had the pleasure of being taken care of by Angelita and she made our delight her mission!! We began our meal with a bottle of The Fableist Cabernet Sauvignon, a beautiful full-bodied, but seemingly light, wine with vibrant, fruity notes of black currant and a hint of smoky oak. We then ordered the Crab Cassava Cake and the Vegan Ceviche appetizers The Vegan Ceviche was a refreshing medley of bright and fresh vegetables in a light lemon broth with a super tasty Breadfruit Fritter. The Crab Cassava Cake was an absolute SHOW STOPPER!!! The crab stew was bursting with true Puerto Rican "Criolla" flavor and was exquisitely complimented by a luscious and light cassava cake infused with tart, creamy goat cheese As a person who has never had a traditional crab cake due to a serious aversion to mayo, I was so stoked to try this version and it was absolutely worth the wait!! For our entrees, we selected the Grilled Salmon and the Chulekan. The salmon was perfectly cooked and served with asparagus and a hearty and delicious mashed Malanga (taro). The Chulekan is a traditional grilled pork chop preparation and Costa Azul has it perfected!!! The generous portion was incredibly flavorful and moist and topped amazing "mamposteo" style rice and beans. Both of our delectable meals were devoured with gusto!
