I love this place. I've loved it since it's been opened. They had me sold when I found I could have authentic Mexican tacos, and french fries? ...and oh, their refried beans are very tasty and always the same. Some places hit and miss, but not El Torazo's. Everything I've ever eaten from this place has been delicious. They have the most amazing salsa verde (or green salsa) I've ever had in my life! ...and what's even more amazing, I recently learned that I can purchase and 8 ounce size of it for a little over $2. They keep the establishment very clean and their customer service is pretty good. I had an issue with a worker who wasn't very kind once. I come here often and have tried a few of their menu times. I'd say my favorite items are "the slim" breakfast burrito with meat added and their beef tacos. Today I tried the shrimp and carne asada mega taco with a side of beans and rice, the beans had a piece of plastic in it. Everything else was pretty good. Also it would be nice if they had nutrition facts listed on their website or in person. I can guess the nutrition content, but it'd be nice to know how nutritious the food is without having to guess. read more

Gave El Torazo a try after their grand opening weekend. There are lot of local taco spots, so wanted to see how they were different. To start, menu was good with multiple options. I liked the different style of tacos, and that they had vegan options too was a plus. However, the prices are very high. You have a competitor across the street with prices half the price. Even though they are gourmet tacos, it's going to be tough to have sales for $3.00 tacos. Customer service needs some improvement. I know it's new and working out the kinks, but the workers were all over the place. They had 4 cooks, 1 person making a smoothie the whole time I was there, a young man just walking round checking the straws and lids for drinks, then the poor young lady at the register. The girl was working the register, working the drive thru mic, and delivering food to customers. Every time she left no one was running the cash register, and lines would build up. It's unfortunate I saw 3 people leave the line and leave the restaurant due to the long waits and unorganized crew while I waited for my to-go food. Overall the food was good. I got one of each option- Mexico style with pastor, Cali style with pastor, and a grilled shrimp taco. Again good flavor, but have plenty of napkins ready though (tons of grease and sauce will pour out). I ordered a side of guacamole to try too. Was just ok, nothing special. Actually had to go back in after getting to my truck because they did not give me the guac I ordered. I was craving some Mexican food today and wanted to try a new spot. 1st visit here and a friend and I decided to order a few things and split all of it to get a full menu taste test. I am very impressed! Started with some taquitos w/ shredded beef. Great presentation on this dish but I wasn't sure about the taste of the slightly pickled cabbage served with it as I'm a fan of the iceberg lettuce other places serve. Still a solid starter. 2nd item was the battered fish burrito. This was delicious. My only complaint is I wish it was bigger lol. Be sure to add the salsa verde to make every bite complete. 3rd item was the chicken bowl to get some veggies and freshness in. Added avocado and it came with a green dressing on the side. I couldn't quite pick out all the ingredients but it was great. Service from the staff made it easy to order and take it to go without any missing items. I grew up three houses down the street from this place. That was between 1977 and 1986. It was a Foster's Freeze ice cream joint back then. I was nearby for a work meeting and drove by my mom's old house and noticed it had turned into a Taqueria. It looked completely renovated. I decided to stop for lunch. The inside looks brand new. Everything was clean including the bathroom. The staff was friendly and efficient. I was able to use Google Pay to pay my bill. I like being able to tap my phone. I had two al pastor and one asada tacos. They were good, with the pastor being better than the asada. They come on one thick corn tortilla, with cilantro, onions and a creamy green salsa. The green salsa was OK. They also gave me a side of red salsa that was much better. I asked for more when the small amount ran out. If I could change one thing, it is that the salsa and other side condiments come in small plastic containers. It was a lot of plastic waste for what they were serving. I can understand giving those for a to go order, but I was dining in. It would be nice if they found a way to reduce that plastic waste. read more

They just opened officially on Saturday! We've been so curious about how business would compete with other taco spots nearby (literally walking distance) however, this place has its own flare. PROS: -very clean and modern environment -staff is so kind and so helpful it made our first time so welcoming -great vegan options! -Agues frescas were very refreshing! -prices were very reasonable -drive thru! But I recommend going down. Service is still new, it may take a while during peak hours. CONS: -menu board was kind of hard to read. You literally had to study each item to know what you're ordering. (I don't have the time) -no burritos on their menu lol -they serve their food (for dine in ) in trays with plastic lid covers. No option to recycle them either. I wish we could all be mindful of Mother Nature, y'all. We ordered a large pepino y limon aguas fresca, their carne Asada fries, and a shrimp taco. The drink was very refreshing and and the shrimp taco was flavorful! grateful to have it on a homemade tortilla. As for the carne Asada fries, I think it's a total pass for me. Don't get me wrong, it was good but it might as well have been "carne asada and fries." The meat was largely sliced, the cheese is nacho cheese, the fries were thick Cajun fries. No salsa, no cilantro. It was ok but again, not "carne asada fries". Overall rating 3.5 out of 5 I'd give this place another try! It was good and very creative. Was looking for a light and delicious meal and that's exactly what I got with this delivery. The Del Mar Burrito and Del Mar tacos arrived warm and flavorful. Particularly liked the way the vegetables and shrimp complimented one another making it a filling treat as much as it was a meal. We use to love this place. We've given it a chance time and time again. We usually use the drive-through. Now, I don't mind tipping for good service. Use to work in the food industry for about a decade, so I know how it works. However, when someone adds a $10-15 dollar tip for a drive-through meal of tacos and a burrito, without my consent, then we have a problem. Unfortunately, last night's dinner was extremely salty (chips, guac, and the taco sauce), and the shrimp in my taco (they left out a taco) were either over cooked or re-heated and rubbery. It did feel as though the order was prepared quicker than expected. In retrospect, I think they gave me a taco that had been spared from a precious order perhaps. Cold with rubbery shrimp. Then the elote - excessive mayo and the corn was halfway prepped - I peeled a lot of the silk which in turn removed most of the toppings. And how do you over salt guac? I don't know but it happened. That said, my favorite was actually their mushroom taco, it was great. The chicken and asada were alright. Beef barbacoa was not bad. Grilled fish and shrimp were whatever. Fried fish was a miss. The mega surf and turf is just two tacos more or less. The Nachorazo was a nice spin on super nachos with carnitas and al pastor. The pineapple and grilled onion worked really well but I think using actual cheese instead of cheese sauce would've been better. Definitely a pricey place. The carnitas meat was so dry, no moisture what so ever. The corn tortillas were plain, no flavor. The burrito was a complete mess, the flavor wasn't appetizing. The guacamole was a joke and not a funny one. They don't even give you onion, only cilantro. Over all I would never ever come back and I feel sorry for the people that eat here. This place is the worst and I regret spending $20 for two tacos and one burrito. Never again. Who the heck allows the food to taste like this??? Im being very honest.
