In terms of margaritas, they're "okay." However, regular patrons (or good tippers?) tend to be served very strong drinks, so pace yourself! The restaurant sign outside was completely dark at night and the windows are covered so it was difficult to discern from driving by to know if the restaurant was even open. Upon entering, we were directed to the side with a large L-shaped comfortable leather couch to wait for seating. After waiting approximately 10 minutes, we were seated. It was the fastest service I have ever seen in terms of getting our drink orders, getting salsa and chips, getting our drinks, and getting our main course. Two salsas were provided complimentary. One was a nice slightly sweet flavor and so mild as to be considered not spicy. The other was what we tend to call a "builder." It seemed mild in spice level but just kept inching along in burning sensation. Not very spicy but did build so more surprising. The chips were quite inconsistent in texture from thin and crispy to stale and bland. We had ordered a soda and an iced tea and my husband joked that the sizable mugs were akin to us drinking liters of beverage. Both entrees ordered came with the option of iceberg lettuce salad or meatball soup. We both opted for the soup. The meatball soup was a watery tomato-flavored soup with onions, celery and carrots with 2 medium-sized meatballs. The meatballs had a good texture in terms of density. It was a nice flavor. We didn't have to wait long for our entrees to present. Our eyes popped out of our heads when we saw the immense portions. The entire elongated plate was piled with food. We knew that part of the entrees, if not most of it, was definitely coming home in to-go boxes. My husband ordered the carnitas plate which included sides of rice, beans and a semi-pico de gallo-ish salad. I ordered the single portion of steak fajitas with flour tortilla which included the sides of rice, beans, and a surprisingly equal size portion of guacamole as the other sides. Although the portion sizes were significant, the flavors had us more reserved in response. The carnitas was dry and slightly overcooked. The sides of rice and the beans were a bit bland. The fajitas had small portions of vegetables with it and was doused in a tomato-paste sauce. I would compare it to a thickened fajita tomato-soup. The overwhelmingly tomato paste flavor was a bit too salty and I couldn't taste the steak or the vegetables at all. I ate one bite and couldn't eat any more of it. The guacamole was a tad sour and my husband thought that something was spoiled in it. I found some bites of the guacamole as acceptable and some bites were sour. The redeeming part of my entree was the flour tortilla. It was light and tasty with a nice consistency closer to that of a crepe. Got enchiladas with refried beans and ranchers sauced omelet (don't rename of omelet) with whole beans. Red sauce on enchilada was bold and yummy. Omelet had a lot of avocado. Both types of beans very good and flavorful. Only thing to consider is that they do use a lard to cook in so if it's fried, it's fried with lard. This includes the chips. The whole beans were not fried with lard. Nothing bad to say about that other than if you don't want lard order the whole beans and don't eat the chips. This was one of our favorite go to restaurants, however, after visiting yesterday we could no longer recommend this place, the staff is always on point and the service is always good but the food they served me almost killed me, I started throwing up a couple hours after getting home and ended up having the worst night of my life, I literally almost died, my wife and son went into panic mode. I was up all night because I constantly had to throw up and use the bathroom, it was a real terrifying experience. It's now about 24 hours in and thankfully I'm starting to feel a bit better but still in bed and totally drained. My wife is suggesting that as precaution I should go to the hospital, I may have to go depending on how I feel in the next few hours. Now, I'm 100 percent sure that it is their food because it is the only food I ate outside of my daily morning oatmeal. I'm writing this review only because I want this restaurant to be more responsible and serve their customers fresh food. They are closed today but I will call them tomorrow and let them know about my experience, again I'm not looking for a free meal because I'm sure I will not be going back, I just want them to step up their quality control and serve customers with quality food and not put their life on the line. read more

I came here for lunch for the first time today. The staff was friendly enough, but they are rehiring employees that were out of work for some months, and brand new servers. Needless to say, it's a mixture in terms of the quality of service in the restaurant. The quality of presentation could have been better- especially with the side of guacamole. It looked like a baby threw up on my plate. The portions are quite large, so two people could easily share a dinner plate. The salsa was good, but the guacamole tasted store bought. First time I had been there in years, but won't be going back. My tostado was more beans and lettuce than meat. I had to dig deep to find the meat. I had a margarita, regular size, not large, it was $14.50! I was shocked, it wasn't even a good one. Cheap tequila and a too limey mix, not made from scratch. How they justify charging that much for a margarita is absurd. To make it worse the couple next to us just let their two kids yell and squeal the entire time! This is still one of my favorite restaurants. The Enchiladas Suizas are so flavorful and spicy, and you can never go wrong with a combination plate. The food comes out hot and travels well. Looking for a between soccer game place for lunch. The place was packed for lunch Sunday at noon. Slight 5 minute wait for our small party of three for a nice booth in the back. Chips and Salsa were quickly served. We got the Carne Asada Burrito and Carnitas Nachos to share. Nice portions that were large enough to share and have leftovers (son couldn't fill up too much before his next game). Good Food. Good Value. Plenty of parking. Restrooms were clean. My only thing to note for people from soccer tournaments is that food may take a while to come out and you may feel anxious to get your kids back on the field in time. So know your time limits and plan accordingly. Would I go back. Yes! My son says the Carnitas Nacho was one of the best he's had. Difficult for me to stop him from devouring the whole thing.
