#13 ChickenTamale combination, with rice and beans!!Beef options...
    April W.

This truly is a hidden gem! This is a family owned business! They have several locations! The recipes have been around for generations! Ask Brian! He will tell you the complete Family History! I had the #13, which was a Chicken Taco/Tamale combination served with delicious rice and beans. We will be back to experience the Churro stuffed with strawberries!!!!

Fried snapper, a favorite of mine and worth fighting through the bones.

Love this place and glad to be back. We enjoyed the guacamole to start with along with their homemade salsa, one of my favorites in the AV. A couple horchatas to drink set the scene, and then we ordered salad with extra blue cheese dressing. I think I taste some dill in there, but whatever, Mr. Picky loves it. I'm repeating my order of last week with the deep fried snapper, ugly-looking but tasty :-), while he's trying the fried shrimp for the first time and loving it. I know we will finish with the homemade flan because we really love the flavor of their version. Another great meal!

Went to visit antelope valley California poppy reserve state park and yelped few restaurants, this place was like 10min drive from the flower place so we thought to give it a try. We were right!!! This place was hidden gem! It looked quiet from outside but when you enter you know you are at the right place! Food were great, service was nice!! I really loved their habanero sauce! It was Highly recommended!! I

Cafe Azteca used to be Azteca Mexican restaurant which recently open in a new location down the street. The original location is now open for breakfast and lunch Wed-Sun. 7-1 I believe. Same family owned business. Same friendly service. Same quality food but with a different menu focused on breakfast and lunch. Anytime I can I stop by for what I consider to be one of the best biscuits and gravy plates anywhere.

Sooo yum. My mother eats here regularly and I finally tried it today cinco De mayo! Everything was delicious next time I'm getting the mocajete my mom's bf gets that everytime and I get why, it was so flavorful. U can either get whole beams or refried both are delicious but the whole beans on another level! Salsa was chunky and not too watery just how i likes it. Also got a long island tea but with some cranberry and it was perfectly mixed and not weak at all.loved it!I'm surprised this place doesn't have more reviews idk if many people know about it then? It is pretty far(90th west.) Definitely going back. I tried don sals in Rosamond recently and that place was really good as well but this one was just a little bit better

We started with home made chips, fresh salsa and an amazing bean dip that had what tastes like chorizo and a hot sauce mix, it is addictive, a must have. Then we ordered our main meals, the Flautas have a lot of flavor and chicken served with guacamole and sour cream, we had the appetizer version, well worth it. We also had a nice sized 2 item lunch special, Chicken hard shell taco, cheese Enchilada typically with Rice and Beans, today I felt like a full plate of beans, all of the food was just like my mom made it, so good. They have many other lunch special options. We decided that a few drinks were a must. My brother ordered the Large (gigantic) Strawberry Margarita, not sure how he finished it on his own but it looked amazing, he said it had a lot of flavor. I had a large Modelo beer that really tied in the entire meal. The interior is old school Mexican theme, with various classic paintings with very plush furniture. The staff is very friend and come by to check on you on the regular. We felt well taken care of, we cannot wait to visit again. This is a hidden gem.

There was one cashier on the phone and two other girls serving tables, so it took a minute before we could place our order. It's a small, casual spot with people constantly coming in and out. I ordered a sopes plate with a taco de tripas. The sopes themselves were actually really good, but unfortunately my rice and beans were cold, so I didn't eat them. The tripas were overcooked. So crunchy they felt like eating popcorn, which was disappointing. My husband ordered a torta de carnitas and a taco al pastor. The al pastor marinade was pretty mediocre, nothing special, and the torta was just okay. We also ordered a burrito with asada and rice only and again, the rice came out cold while the meat was hot. They did bring us chips and salsa, and the red spicy salsa was actually good, probably the best part of the meal. Overall, this place is okay but very mediocre. With how expensive eating out is these days, I'm really picky about where I spend my money, and this didn't feel worth it. There are definitely better, Mexican spots in Lancaster that I'd rather go to. I probably won't be coming back.
